Chapter 38

Emily's P.O.V

"Alvin, where are we going?" Currently, I was following behind Alvin as he was leading me through the hallway going to who knows where.

"You'll see." That's all he said, after walking for a few minutes we got out of the house and is currently walking a big round to the back of the house.

"Em!!!" Suddenly I heard a shrill of excitement from someone calling out towards me, Alvin and I started getting closer and closer towards the person who called out my name, after getting a closer look I realize that the person is Carly.

"Hey." I greeted and gave her a hug when she jumped on me pulling me into a bear hug.

"Anyways I am glad you accepted my dumb brother, now we are officially family! Are you ready to meet the others?" She went on brimming with enthusiasm. I was never good with people so I was low-key panicking even though I pretended to be all normal and smiling.

"I-I. . ." Before I could say anything a familiar figure walked passed us. My attention was now diverted by the figure and I turned around to take a look as to who it is, as the person was walking towards the front of the house, his back is facing us so I couldn't quite tell what he is carrying but it looks to be like a girl.

"Ryder, where are you going? And what is that smell? Did you bring back a girl?!" Ricky called out to the figure and he seemed to be a little freaking out.

"Ryder, I thought you went out for pizza? You can bring pizza back but you can't just randomly bring girls back to the pack." Alvin chided as Ryder was turning around to face us now while holding on to a girl in his arms.

"She is my mate." His face seemed to be fully voided of emotions and his stony expression sends shudders down my spine. I took a closer look at the girl in his arms and my brain literally felt like exploding on the spot.

There laying in his arms is the deadliest person I've known since young. Kelly.

I did not know how to react to it and I was simply opening and closing my mouth like a fish out of water with no words coming out. Alvin looked as if he seen a ghost while Carly and Ricky were just looking at us in confusion.

"Y-Your, y-your mate is Kelly?" After a moment of trying I've managed to force the words out of my mouth. Ryder looked towards me and then back towards Kelly, "Kelly, is that is her name?" His expression seems to soften as he repeated her name. Kelly has never once had a boyfriend for as long as I can remember, even though I remembered how guys used to send up gifts to 'father' for her hand in marriage she has never backed down and gave in to any request. She was like a rose filled with thorns, only for admiring but not to be touched. The current Kelly who is in Ryder's arms seem to be a little off, her eyes were just staring into blank space but her usual brownish red eyes were now dull and lifeless, almost the color of dark brown.

"Ryder, what are you going to do with her? That girl is dangerous, she was the one who tried to kill me." Alvin frowned.

"I will deal with her don't worry, I've got it handled. I am going back to my room in the pack house now but I will bring her home later on before 12 midnight." Alvin nodded in response and he went off with Kelly still in his arms.

My mind was in a frenzy trying to process what had just happened, I mean it is Kelly we are talking about, how the hell did he even get her to be all cozied up in his arms lets not even get started on handling her, is he insane? Doesn't he want his life any longer? I was now trying to find the right words to say as my brain was going haywire and there was difficulty in trying to put my thoughts into words.

"Emy, don't worry, Ryder is one of our most skilled fighters plus he has his bloodline protection, and if you are wondering what he meant by home and everything, he actually has a room where he rests in at the pack house but he has to go home every night, his bloodline effects on others causes them to go crazy so yeah. " I did not catch anything that he was trying to explain so Carly stepped in.

"What my brother was trying to say is that Ryder is strong, so he can handle whoever that girl is, plus he has a type of effect on others cause of his lineage." My mouth formed an O while I nodded.

"Alright, anyways let us get back to the main topic this time around. Em, we are going to bring you to meet some of our friends, they are mostly girls because they are my friends and not exactly friends of Ricky and Alvin. Hopefully, that will help you integrate into the pack better." Carly smiled and walked behind me and started pushing me towards the direction of the spread of forest in front.

"Emy, I will see you later alright, go enjoy," Alvin called out before we went too far ahead.

"Don't worry Al, she is in good hands," Carly yelled back. By now we've already passed quite a few trees, Carly isn't behind me any longer instead she is right in front of me dragging me by the wrist while I blindly followed her.

The deeper we walked into the forest the quieter it got, there was no chirping or frogs croaking the only sound was the wind blowing if it isn't Carly in front of me right now I would have started thinking that I am about to get murdered.

"We are here." Those words from Carly finally let my anxious heart calm down a little and stopped my brain from spiraling out of control, we were currently standing somewhere in the forest all those creepy feeling I was getting earlier was stripped away once I saw the sight before me, it is a tiny cabin and the light in it seem to be lit.

"Ready?" Before I could actually reply, Carly has already dragged me to the front of the door and knocked on it, the door is made out of wood the same goes for the whole cabin, to be honest, it was decorated with flower links hanging off each side of the cabin roof and there is a cute welcome mat outside the door. The door has a small slit in the middle that seems to be able to slide open and close just like those shows where they have those to see who is outside the door. A minute or so a voice which seemed to belong to an aristocrat girl could be heard.
