Chapter 37

Ryder's P.O.V

Today is a cloudy day, so it is a good day to eat pizza, actually, every day is a good day for pizza! I've decided not to take the car as my wolf Ace has been itching for a run.

"Hey, buddy ready for the run you've been waiting for?" I asked Ace.

"You told me that the last 5 times, I am not going to believe you and your trickeries again." He scoffed.

"Aw don't be such a petty wolf, you big baby! I had reasons alright. Plus at least this time I am letting you take a run around the borders till we'd reach somewhere near town. By then I've got to do the running in human form, can't you just pity me a little?" I tried to play the sympathy card but it seems to be working somehow.

"Fine, just get on with it already and let me out."

After I stripped into my birthday suit the next moment I felt my bones cracking and shifting, it made me feel sore in places I don't even think is possible, this shows how long it has been since Ace came out. A few seconds past and I can now see wolf paws against the ground and feel our bushy tail sweeping the soiled ground.

"Damn it feels good to be out!" Ace was now rolling in the dirt showing how much he missed the feeling of it. "Stop doing that, our fur is going to get dirty." I huffed.

"Stop being such a girl, now I'm in charge so I call the shots." With that said he grabbed my clothes off the ground with his mouth and he took off, running as quick as our paws could take us feeling the wind against our fur, it felt absolutely amazing totally re-energizing me.

"I feel alive." Ace exclaimed in excitement.

"That is because you are." I retorted which caused him to shut me out so now I was able to see what was going on but not able to comment.

Ace's P.O.V

Feeling the wind running through my fur and the soil below my feet (paws) felt incredibly amazing, it has been ages since Ryder let me out for a run. After that retarded conversation with Ryder ended due to me cutting him off I took off at the speed of light dashing through the tall trees and jumping across huge rocks as if they were hurdles. My senses were at its maximum, even tiny chirps of baby birds up in the trees could be heard as though they are just beside me.

After running for quite a distance I slowed down as something caught my attention. A distinct scent caused my heart rate to increase, the smell of cookies and cream and a light hint of the ocean. It smells refreshing and tantalizing, I followed the scent and it led me straight to a nearby lake.

Striding closer I caught sight of a beautiful young girl in the lake taking a soak, the first word that came into my mind was "mate." I felt Ryder's burst of emotions as well and I finally gave him back his freedom to voice out his thoughts at the moment.

"She is beautiful, and she smells delicious." That is the first thing he said which made me want to mentally face-palm myself.

"Can you not think about food for once?" I questioned.

"Hey, in my defense I called her beautiful first. Hurry go talk to her, wait let me change back first."

"What, no way! I spotted mate first." I wasn't giving in this time around.

"We spotted her at the same time dumbass and do you want to scare her? I mean come on you are the size of a freaking monster truck."

"Ugh fine, but you better not mess this up like every other thing you do, normally you are the one who says that you didn't need a mate, what happened to that statement." I scoffed.

"Y-Yeah I mean, I wouldn't need a mate who smells normal, but if she smells of food, then yas I need her!"

I rolled my green wolf eyes and let him back in control, not long after my bones were all popped back into place and I felt myself taking a step back and the control was now fully in Ryder's hands.

Ryder's P.O.V

The scene playing before me was magnificent, the lake was sparkling and shiny as the sunlight beats down on it and the most breathtaking part is the girl standing right in the middle of the lake, her chestnut brown straight hair wasn't considered long but it wasn't short either, just nice touching her shoulders, her skin is evenly tanned and she has a petite figure overall, the water was resting just below her boobs and she was scooping water up with both her palms cupped together and pouring it over her body.

She didn't realize that I was around and was totally focused on showering, nudity wasn't considered a big issue for us werewolves as at a certain point of time you will somehow be in your birthday suit and you wouldn't even have a choice. I walked up closer and called out to her, "Hi."

The moment she heard my voice she somehow turned into a statue and her head slowly lifting up to see me, her face held a look of horror upon seeing me and before I know it she let out a huge scream. By now I am fully clothed so I don't see a big issue as to why she seemed to be freaking out like that.

"AHHHH!" She plunged herself down into the water and her hands were covering her body protectively.

"Relax, I come in peace." I raised both my hands up in a surrendering posture.

"GET OUT!" She yelled. Even though she was screaming and yelling at me but her voice was simply music to my ears.

"I-I can't exactly get out, because we aren't exactly in a room," I replied awkwardly.

"TURN AROUND THEN?!" She was still yelling at me but I simply complied with her request and spun around.

All I was able to hear was rustling of leaves, A few minutes passed and finally, she spoke. "I'm going to kill you!" I spun back around seeing her fully clothed with a whip in her hands, her eyes burning with hatred and before I could come to my own defense her whip lashed out at me. It made some clanking sound as the metal whip extended out and aimed for me as if it has eyes of its own flying in my direction.

I felt Ace wanting to take control as he always gets pumped up for a fight especially if it is against our mate as he wants to show her who's in charge. I, on the other hand, didn't want to do this through violence so I made the worst possible decision ever, I dodged the attack and ran straight towards her which caused her eyes to widen in shock as she totally did not expect it, she was stunned momentarily and with that shocking time I was directly in front of her holding her tightly in my hands, her whip dropped to the ground and she was not able to break free, I moved forward with both her arms still in my grip and her will take a step back and it went on for about a few seconds till her back was against a tree.

I held her both her wrist together in one of my hands now and lifted it up against the tree behind as I leaned downwards toward her and looked her in the eye. The look on her face was as if she wanted to kill me and slaughter all 18 generations of my family but I couldn't bring myself to hate her or dislike her, it simply made me want to love her more.

"Let go of me?!" She growled.

"Nope, you are my mate and I will never let you go. . . You smell like cookies and cream." After I said that I started licking her neck as I wanted to taste whether she tasted like what she smells like, I wasn't disappointed indeed, even though it wasn't the taste of cookies and cream it tasted of vanilla.

"STOP IT!" She was furious now which made her look simply adorable as if a tiny bunny trying to act all angry. I didn't want to risk hurting her so I decided to use a method that I swear I wouldn't use after the previous time I tried. My eyes shifted into Ace's eyes he already knew what I was about to do and he too felt like it was a good idea, we stared into her brownish red eyes and within the next few seconds she dazed out.

Since young I had been able to lock a person's soul within their body, it is one of the skills that I have, with all these skills along with my fighting capabilities Alvin assigned me to train all the warrior wolves and I delightedly complied. I carried her off the ground and princess carried her while her eyes were now staring off into blank space, I had no choice but to bring her back to the pack house first and settle all the consequences and everything later on.

"Don't worry my mate, I will let free your soul later on once we are back." I wasn't going to be like Alvin taking things slow and steady, I am going to make her mine in the shortest time possible.
