Chapter 36
Alvin's P.O.V
As I was teasing Emily and enjoying how her face turns beet red which in my opinion is absolutely adorable, a knock on the door interrupted us and we diverted our attention towards the door.
"Come in," Emily called out towards the person standing outside the room. The door was pushed open and it revealed a girl who looked to be about 17?
"Is Alvin here?" The girl asked as she did not seem to have noticed me yet.
"Oh, you are?" Emily asked cautiously as she didn't seem fond of the girl at all, she seemed familiar but I simply couldn't figure out where I've seen her before.
"I'm Miliana, the daughter of alpha Derek. Some of the pack warriors saw Alvin coming in this room earlier on, this is his room. . . Right?" No wonder I found her familiar, I furrowed my brows as I realized that she has been calling me by my name earlier on, the fact that she thinks she is that close to me to call me by name and not alpha triggers me a little, I may not be a full-fledged alpha yet but as I am relieving my father of his job, for now, I am still considered the alpha. Furthermore, she is telling Emily things that she shouldn't, I am her mate so it should be my rights to reveal everything to her when its time, the fact that she did it before me infuriates me.
"What? I have no idea what you are saying but yeah Alvin is here and no this isn't his room." Emily looked utterly confused.
"Oh great, who are you by the way? Why are you in this room?" Miliana snickered.
"I am Emily and this is my room so excuse you, I wonder where you've learned your manners from?" Emily rolled her eyes and replied with sarcasm in her tone.
Miliana didn't take any hint and simply walked into the room and her eyes scanned the room for signs of me and her sight landed on the bed with me still lazing down on it. The bed is across the bathroom while the door is located on the right wall beside the bathroom door. Paying no heed to Emily's existence she came up to the side of the bed and sat on it which made me feel sick and disgusted with her actions. Doesn't she have proper etiquette? Do just thread into a person's room and simply sit on their bed without asking for permission, if that ain't considered rude I have no idea what is.
"A-Alvin, I've heard about the upcoming party and I am sure you have not found your mate yet, can I go as your plus 1?" She tried to batt her eyelash and act all flirty at me. Keyword she tried, I gave her a look of disgust and glared at her.
"It is Alpha Alvin to you, as for the party, my plus 1 is Emily, she is my mate. So get lost." I growled out and her face turned pale as she was taken aback and lowered her head in submission as she stood up from the bed and didn't dare to disobey my words as my words held pressure due to the alpha tone and if not for the fact that she is from the Shadow Claw pack, I would have already banished her for disrespecting Emily and me. She scurried out of the room like a street rat and didn't even bothered apologizing to either of us as she closed the door on her way out.
"What was that all about. . . Alvin, who is she? What was with all the alpha and mates or even pack." Her troubled face seemed to turn serious now as she started shooting questions at me.
"Um. . . That. . . About that. Let's just say my family isn't normal as well." I had a hard time trying to put words into my sentence, how am I even suppose to explain to her about all these without her freaking out? Being an assassin is one thing, being a werewolf is another. Like am I even suppose to tell her, 'oh I am a werewolf and so is all the few hundred over occupants on this land and I am the leader or aka alpha of this pack, by the way, we are soul mates so we are supposed to get together because I love you.' Come on as if that is not going to freak any person out.
"Just spit it out already, nothing can be weirder than staying in a dysfunctional family since young due to a fire causing the death of both my parents and suddenly overnight turned into an assassin by the adopted weird 'father'." She flipped her eyes at me and exclaimed.
"Well, if you put it that way then maybe it ain't so bad? So. . . Okay. . . I am a werewolf." Once those words left my mouth there was total silence, 1 minute passed and a burst of sudden loud laughter came from Emily as she held onto her tummy and laughed. My serious expression didn't change a single bit as I looked at her while she laughed.
"Wait. You aren't kidding?" Her face paled over and seemed to be in deep thought before she opened her mouth and said again.
"Okay, so you are a werewolf. Is everyone else also a werewolf or is it only you? And what is an alpha as well as mates." She turned serious once more but when she said, mates, my eyes couldn't help but to lit up, she seems to be quite accepting of me being a werewolf maybe she will be accepting of us as her mates too! My wolf Eric was jumpy and all over the place as I was about to explain more about mates to her, he couldn't wait for Emily to know of his existence.
"So an alpha is like the leader of the pack and yes everyone here is a werewolf, I am sorry if I didn't tell you this earlier but don't worry no one here will hurt you, I can assure you that."
"Everyone has their secrets I don't blame you but how are you so sure others won't hurt me? Even though I have utmost confidence of defending myself but no harm being extra cautious."
"I am glad you seem to be taking all these in quite well, as we move on to mates you might want to prepare your heart, the reason why I can assure you that no one will harm you is also related to mates. Have you ever heard of soul mates? In our legend we have a story where there were 2 packs who used to wage war against each other and it caused many wolves to suffer, the moon goddess got sad seeing as to how there was so much bloodshed so she decided to make the daughter of the alpha from one of the pack and the son of the alpha from the other pack become soul mates, as they got together the 2 packs had no choice but to comply with the moon goddess wishes and united the whole pack where the 2 of them got married and led the newly formed pack. So, as I was saying. . . I hope you are ready for this. Emily, you and I are mates. So you are the future luna of my pack, you will lead beside me as an equal." I told her the story of how soul mates came about and finally I managed to convey my feelings towards her, I was terrified of how she is going to take it.
"Oh. So is that why there are sparks every time we touch?" She asked with some uncertainty.
"Yes. Its a mates thing, to be honest, I have been looking for you ever since I've turned 16, every wolf will only have 1 mate and once they've turned 16 they will be able to find their mates but some never manage to find their mates as they've never had the chance to even meet." I tried my best to explain and told her my heartfelt feelings as I've been in search of her for a long time.
"I-I. . . I can't say that I am not surprised." When she said that I felt my wolf dying a little inside as if she just rejected me, my wolf whimpered as I hung my head low in dejection.
"I am not saying I don't like you, I do feel attractions towards you, just that I've never really been in a relationship before so. . . Yeah, we can take it slow and see how it goes?" With that said my wolf and I somehow revived and we were on cloud nine, Emily she isn't rejecting us! I shot out of bed and ran over to hug her.
"Kya, chill wolfy!" She squeaked as I carried her up high and spun her around before putting her down on the ground and hugged her tightly.
"Trust me, you won't regret it, my little mate." I gave her a wolfish grin and kissed her on her forehead as she leaned against my chest listening to my heartbeat. We were once again interrupted by another knock on the door, my grunted out in frustration as Emily was chuckling at my reaction. "Who is that?"
"It is meeeee Ryder! Open the door, open the door, open the door!" Ryder started yelling outside of the room which caused me to get extremely irritated but I had no choice but to let him in.
"Come in, and shut up." The door was immediately pushed opened and Ryder bounced in.
"Anyone wants pizza? I am going to town to get some pizza, anyone wants to come?" His eyes were all sparkly as he mentioned pizza.
"Nah, I will need to help Emily settle in first, how did you know I was here anyway?" I raised one of my brows and gave him a questioning look.
"Well, I saw a girl wanting to murder someone as she left here and I heard her yelling she is going to kill Emily and f*ck Alvin so I assumed that you are here? I have been standing outside the door for the past few minutes but I didn't want to interrupt. Anyways bye! I'm going out for pizza, congrats anyways and Emily Luna if he bullies you, tell either Carly, Ricky or me, we will help you get back at him." After he said that he pretty much skipped out of the room and didn't even closed the door, whatever since we've also had to go find Carly to get her to introduce some of the ladies in the pack to help Emily settle down.
"So, shall we milady?" I asked like a proper gentleman with a British accent.
"Please don't you can't pull off the British accent. But sure let's go." She teased and stuck out her tongue at me as we walked out of the room hand in hand.
