Chapter 29: Finally Found You

Harvey Hammond in the room was unaware that his countdown to death had begun. He was comfortably lounging on the sofa, enjoying a cigar and fine wine.

"Why hasn't that guy Paul reported back to me yet? It shouldn't take this long to handle some minor troubles," Harvey wondered, casting doubt on Paul Mark's competence.

He had originally planned to offer Paul a promotion if he could resolve the matter satisfactorily, but now it seemed that further consideration was necessary.

With these thoughts in mind, Harvey set down his glass and picked up the phone from the table, scrolling through the contacts.

After finding Paul's phone number, he pressed the call button to contact him.

*Ring... ring... ring...* The phone rang rhythmically after being connected.

At the same time, a crisp incoming call rang on his balcony.

Hearing this sound, Harvey was taken aback. He glanced at his phone and then at the balcony, puzzled by what was happening.

Then he quickly regained his composure, retrieved a handgun from the coffee table drawer, and walked cautiously toward the balcony, his expression wary.

As he approached, he dialed Paul Marks' number again, but the ringing continued to come from the balcony.

Harvey was almost at the balcony by now. He followed the sound and saw a figure, indistinct in the darkness, sitting on the balcony chair, holding a phone emitting a faint blue light.

"Damn it! Who are you?" Harvey raised his hand to shoot as soon as he saw someone there.

But before he could finish his sentence, Maverick on the balcony had already rushed over swiftly. He snapped Harvey's left wrist, preventing him from gripping the gun, and grabbed his neck with the other hand, lifting him up.

"Finally... found you!" Maverick stared intently at the struggling Harvey Harmon, his voice hoarse and icy, as he uttered a few words.

Harvey had no idea what was happening. The sudden suffocation made him roll his eyes back. The instinct for survival drove his still intact right hand to desperately claw at the hand restraining his neck, trying to fight for a breath of fresh air.

But Maverick's strength was exceptionally strong. If he hadn't held back his strength, Harvey's neck would have been broken by now.

Seeing Harvey's face gradually turning purple from lack of air, Maverick eventually loosened his grip. He still had many questions for this man, so he couldn't let him die so easily.

When he had extracted all the information he needed, he would make this scum taste what it's like to wish for death.

Harvey slumped against the wall, not having experienced this feeling in a long time.

He took a few deep breaths, then suddenly stood up and charged at Maverick. He still held the dagger he had secretly drawn from behind his waist while sitting on the ground.

Harvey's sudden attack didn't succeed. Maverick, as if anticipating it, raised his hand to block the assault.

*Snap! Snap!*

With a few crisp sounds, Maverick broke Harvey's intact right hand into several pieces.

Then Maverick confiscated the dagger and kicked Harvey, who was now lying on his side, grimacing in pain, into the corner of the living room.

"It seems Paul Marks was right about you. You really are just a brainless idiot," Maverick said, looking at Harvey in the corner of the room, who was now writhing in agony and retching sour water, his tone icy and disdainful.

This condescending attitude was something Harvey detested the most. He glared fiercely at Maverick while lying on the ground, and then growled harshly.

"I knew it was strange for someone to suddenly find me here. It turns out that damn bastard Paul betrayed me. It seems that killing that traitor in front of him last time didn't teach him a lesson."

"He'd better have died by your hands, or else I'll make him wish he had. Damn bastard! Damn it! *Cough* *Cough* *Cough*!"

Hearing Harvey Harmon's curses, Maverick shook his head and said mockingly, "Tsk tsk tsk, how ruthless. But you can rest assured, I've taken care of him for you."

He had already figured out what tone to use with Harvey, as this guy was indeed the most intolerant of others' contempt and disdainful behavior towards him.

Perhaps his ruthless treatment of traitors was because he felt that they didn't respect him, which was an insult to him.

"Calculating the time, I guess those lovely little guys have already drained him of all his blood and flesh."

"I really hope he's still alive at this moment. After all, this kind of feeling probably won't come again in the next life. Speaking of which, he should thank me for giving him such an unforgettable experience."

Upon hearing Maverick's words, Harvey realized that Paul Marks had already been tormented to death by the guy in front of him.

What grudge or injustice led to the mysterious actions of this person in front of him, Harvey Harmon racked his brains but couldn't figure out when he had offended such a mysterious entity.

Judging from his skills and reactions, he was definitely not an ordinary person. Harvey was well aware of the strength of the New York gangs, and it was impossible for any faction to suddenly have such a figure without him knowing.

Thinking of this, he looked up at Maverick and said coldly, "Who are you exactly? In my memory, the Blood Head Gang has never met someone like you."

"Or are you hired by other gangs to eliminate me? Do those bunch of bastards now have the capability to do so?"

Maverick fell silent upon hearing Harvey's words. After the incident with Paul Marks, he had already anticipated this.

Tasks like clearing out some irrelevant personnel were basically nothing in the eyes of their people. No one would have expected that an ant that could be crushed at will would suddenly turn into a monster that could crush them in return.

Seeing Maverick silent, Harvey thought his guess was correct.

So he continued, "How much did those guys offer you? I'll give you double, no, triple!"

"As long as you spare me and tell me who hired you, you can get several times the money. *Cough* And, and I can continue to patronize your business in the future."

"If you don't mind turning back to kill those people later, I can also give you a generous commission for doing so."

"You should know what I do. We can do long-term business. I don't need to explain what the Blood Head Gang is, I'm sure you're very knowledgeable about it already."
