First Release and Magic

On the top of the building. Soul was sitting and watching everyone below. Although he can't fly, he can still jump really high and use spirit to step of air. He could only do this after he got his first release.

It was 2 days later that he finally got his first release.

The sword is all black and thin. It was purely black and was very heavy. More than a 100 Pound. If this was an average person wielding it they would have trouble. Soul was not an average person. The sword to him was like an arm. He can freely use it.

Like usual he was training. The only problem was that training progress became really too slow. It would be fine if he proceed like before. It was only after he got the first release that his spirit body became just like a normal person body. At this point the training speed was so slow it feel like he stagnant.

"How can I train faster?" Soul was in deep thought.

A month later, during school one of Soul friends Rain said, "A powerful 6 star fiend beast and a army wild beast has invaded Mirgru City. The government sent 2 titled magician. One of them is 7 star and the other is 6 star. Any magician nearby are called in for reinforcements."

Another one Soul friends, Asu exclaimed, "Mirguru City is really close to our city! Do you think we would get caught in the battle?!"

The other friend Morris said, "No, it should be fine. The city has a shield protecting it. It would take the beast more than 3 days to arrive here anyways. They would be dead by that time."

Another one of Soul friends, King explained, "The spatial gate can bypass the shield of the city. It has been a long time since a 5 star and above fiend beast has invaded a city."

Soul has 5 best friend in total. He grew up with them since a child. He used to have more but they are either dead or he no longer has contact with them after they moved. The last of his childhood friend Harry is still in middle school. Harry will be a high schooler next year.

Next year Soul will turn 16 years old.

Soul didn't make any comment about any of these. What was on his mind was to test his power against those beast. What was the point of having power if he can't use it?

After leaving school and laying his body on the bed Soul release his spirit body.

In his spirit body, Soul rushed over to Mirguru City. With his speed, he can easily travel to another City in less than 4 hours. Standing on top of a tall skyscraper he could see destruction and chaos.

In the sky he could see a giant bug more than 100 meters tall. "That must be the 6 star fiend beast." Soul is not rash as to rush in and start killing. He has no battle experience.

A red laser beam flashed out from the 6 fiend star mouth and all the building in the radius of a mile was reduce to rubbles.

"I would definitely turn to ash if I get hit by the beam." Soul shivers as he thought about it.

Although Soul is not part of the Magician world he still has knowledge of the ranking of beast.

1-4 star beast are called wild beast. They are insanely strong and could crush human like ants. 5-7 are called fiend beast. They have intelligence and could speak human language. They can use magic. Such as that laser beam.

8-10 star are called emperor beast. They rule over the beasts and there are less than 10 of them recorded.

Just as the fiend beast was about to unleash another beam it got hit by a meteor falling from the sky.

The beast let out a miserable shriek and crashed to the ground.

The magicians on the ground excitedly shouted, "Reinforcements have arrived! We are saved!" More cheers sounded out as the crowd regain hope that someone could fight against the fiend beast.

The fiend beast got up and started unleashing more laser beam but a water and earth shield block the laser. "Those shield are too powerful!" As Soul saw that the situation got under control it was time for him to gain some battle experience.

Soul fought with star 1-4 wild beast. With his first release, he had no problem. He cut them like tofu. Let it be known that the skin of these beast are tougher than tanks. They are also fast. Making them a walking tank that take human lives. Those weaker magician stands no chance with many of these beast attacking them.

Soul spirit power was increasing at a fast rate. Soon he would attain the light red aura. He was killing any wild beast he see.

Roar! Roar! Roar!!

Many roars echo out as something was coming out of the spatial gate.

"Watch out! Retreat now! An 8 star emperor beast is invading." The 6 star magician warned.

When everyone heard that they quickly retreat. The emperor beast had the form of a human. At 2 feet tall, the emperor beast release a wave of magic making everyone cough out blood. Some faint while the weaker magicians even die on the spot.

The 6 star and 7 star magician were fine. However, their face were pale. While Soul countenance turn awful. Just from releasing a wave of magic the emperor beast almost kill him. Soul could tell that although those 6 star and 7 star magician can stand a few move from the emperor beast they cannot escape.

The 6 star magician release a ring of fire around himself and a giant pillar of fire burst out. Soul thought that magician was getting ready to engage the emperor beast but instead fled really fast. A trial of fire in the sky was left behind. However, before he got far. A black giant hand block his escape route, grasp him and instantly killed him.

Soul knew he cannot stay here any longer, while he was almost at the light red aura level and wanted to kill him more beast, his life is more important. Soul quickly escaped. "Ahh, hopefully more powerful magician would be send as reinforcements." If there were no reinforcement then that city is good as gone.

Some time later. Soul meditate on his bed. He was close to light red aura. After digesting every from today battle he finally attain it! After breaking through to light red aura he unlock 2 new technique.

One of them was Air Step, he can use his spirit power to walk on air. The other on was flash step, using spirit power to boost his speed.

Soul jump into the air and unleash spirit power under his feet. With a burst of speed he disappear and reappear 200 meters away. Although it is great, the technique consume half of his spirit power in just a jew seconds. Purely using air step he can stay in the air for 2 minutes. Each time he used flash step it takes 1/4 of his spirit power.

He found that farther down the line. The air step could upgrade to stellar step and flash step could upgrade to Spatial traverse.

"So many technique and art I can't use. Ah, why am I so weak?" Soul sigh.
