Origin and Aftermath

Quirks. That's the chosen word for the supernatural properties that developed randomly… or did they? For starters, what is the word "quirk" supposed to represent? Two hundred years ago, the meaning of the word was a clear-cut one. An oddity, peculiarity, or anything along that notion. Someone that tended to habitually bang their head on a table would result in others saying "It's a weird quirk of his."

So, how come such a word came to be the one that represented the modern-day equivalent of literal superpowers? Wouldn't that better? Superpowers? It's true that not all quirks can be considered "powerful", but is that all there was to it?

Such questions often plagued Sora Hado, the sole son of the Hado family, belonging to the fourteenth generation of the family since its foundation. It all began with the end of The First Cycle – Canon. In that cycle, Sora lead a life filled with peril and misery. He watched his friends die one after on another. His sister took her last breath as he held her within his arms. The hometown he grew up in was broken and burnt. Everything that he treasured was taken from him. One. After. The. Other.

He suffered, but still held on. After all, the ones that were the reason behind his suffering still lived. So, he made revenge his sole objective. He would make them pay for it all – tenfold. That decision is what lead to the ending of The First Cycle being one surrounded by the corpses of his enemies as the worst of them stood in front of him, as if mocking him.

"Why…?" He had voiced dryly. Sora wanted to know. What was the reason behind his suffering? Was there a grand purpose to it all? Before he could get any form of response, his vision darkened. He bled out.

He didn't want it. He didn't want to die. Such an ending was unsatisfactory. He wanted to change it. Make it so everything never happened. ERASE it all. End it. Change it. Just a second chance.

Then, his wish was granted. His vision had returned, however, he wasn't in the midst of his enemies anymore. The pain he was in a moment ago was gone. He was now seated at a table with a beautifully decorated cake in front of him.

"Come on, blow on the candles!" Nejire. He heard Nejire's voice. His sister who died in his arms.

He slowly turned his head to confirm it. There she was, younger, but definitely his older sister whom he cherished dearly. Then, he noticed another two figures. His parents. Even they were alive. Was this some cruel joke? Was his enemy using one of his quirks to further drown him in despair? It didn't matter. Ever since she was gone, he wished from the bottom of his heart to have Nejire again. This time, he won't let her go. No. Everything would change. Even if all this was a false reality – he will make it his own reality. It didn't matter if everything was a fake. He was real and so were his emotions. He would live with it.

And so, Sora went through The Second Cycle with a burning determination to make everything right. This time, he wouldn't lose anyone. Nejire would continue to be alive. His friends would all be there. Everything would be all right.

To an extent, he succeeded. But, his success came at a cost. Instead of all his friends, he lost half of them. His sister lived, but his parents still died. That is good enough, right? He tried his best and changed the outcome. No. It wasn't good enough. It was greedy of him to desire it, but he wanted another start. He needed the perfect ending.

Once more, his wish was granted. He was back to his tenth birthday once again. And thus, The Third Cycle began. With the knowledge and experience from the two previous cycles, amounting to a total of forty-eight years, he set out to craft the perfect ending. No one would die this time, he would make sure of it. Then, it all went wrong. During The Second Cycle, he took actions that resulted in various changes. However, it all worked out in the end. The Third Cycle was different. His actions resulted in a completely different future. With his knowledge proven to be useless, he only had his experience to rely on.

But, one man can only do so much. Once again, he failed. And so, he desired another reset. This time, he wouldn't repeat his past mistakes. Actions should be taken carefully. He must not change too much. It should only be the small things that lead to the best outcome.

The Fourth Cycle came and Sora set out for perfection. He sought out everything wrong he did and changed it. That's how he achieved the best possible outcome for every situation. Or, at least, that's what he thought. In the end, two of his classmates ended up dead. However, this time he didn't desire a reset. Those two that died didn't mean much to him. He could live his life out with that much. After all, the rest of the better friends and his sister were still there.

And so, Sora Hado's life in The Fourth Cycle ended with his death of old age. Then, he awoke. He was back to the start. Why? He didn't desire it. He had already gotten an ending good enough for him. It was then he realized he lost sight of his objective. Sora didn't want a good enough ending. He desired the perfect one.

"S-sora? Why are your eyes like that?" He heard his sister's voice. His eyes? Was something wrong?

Sora quickly stood up from the seat and rushed to his room, where there was a tall mirror. As he gazed at it, he noticed that his eyes were slightly glowing in blue. His quirk. Whenever he erased the quirks of others, there would be a tiny blue light at the center of each eye. Now, though? The glow had grown to encompass the entirety of his iris. That was when Sora realized that he was losing control over his quirk. Due to its nature, his quirk grew the further he mentally grew. Soon, it would reach a state that would result in it being permanently active.

Was that the price to pay to change everything? An uncontrollable quirk? Then, so be it. It was a fair price for such an absurd power. So, this time, he would get the perfect ending.

Sora relived parts of each past cycle and perfected whatever there was to perfect. Unbeknownst to him, however, the slight glow covering his irises turned brighter and brighter with passing time. When Sora finally achieved it, the perfect ending, his eyes looked like they were artificial balls of light planted in eye sockets.

Since everything was over, Sora could finally gaze at himself in the mirror. That wouldn't do. He can't harm everyone after everything he had done. So, he ran away. Sora left everything and everyone behind and decided to live his life out alone. Thus, The Fifth Cycle ended perfectly. Then, why? Why was he back to the start again? Was this the real price he had to pay? Everything he did was meaningless. There was no point to it at all. So, this time, Sora began to do things he never did in any of the previous cycles. Instead of attending UA and becoming a hero student, he set out for vigilantism.

He witnessed the cruel nature of humans much more often than before. It wasn't just his enemies that were rotten. No – it was humanity itself that had become rotten. As to why that was the case? Quirks. The reason why he was experiencing such thoughts in the first place. They were the reason behind humanity's fall.

How? Well, Sora did his research. Quirks never appeared randomly. Not exactly, anyway. In fact, a quirk is the label given to how a human has adapted and evolved. "Isn't that obvious?" Is what might one ask. But, no. There was more to it.

Two centuries ago, humanity was at the peak. It didn't achieve that through absurd powers and abilities. What humanity made use of was science. By studying and understanding the nature of the world, humanity could lift itself to the peak. Humanity succeeded in doing that. They had become the apex rulers of the globe. No other life-form could endanger the human race. So, what happened? Well, nature responded.

There had always been an odd energy that scientists had been able to detect but not make any use of. They often called dark energy. Humans desired to understand it. If they succeeded, then perhaps it wouldn't just be the planet that they ruled over. They could lay their sight on what lay outside their solar system.

Unfortunately, before any research could bear fruit, nature made its first move in the form of a glowing baby child. It was an odd incident that was the catalyst to humanity's downfall. Researchers tried to figure out why the baby glowed, but aside from mutated genetics, they couldn't conclude anything else. It was a huge mystery. Following that, other such cases popped up all around the globe. Those that were unaffected by the wind. Those that had skin resistant to burns. They were all oddities that weren't THAT useful. So, they started labeling such oddities as exactly that: oddities. But a better word was required. Thus, the word "quirk" came to have an entirely new meaning.

For the following decades, more and more quirks would manifest in humans. With few gaining an evolutionary advantage over the rest, the latter ostracized them out of fear. Persecution and war was what followed. As quirks continued to manifest more and more, the quirkless lost their edge in numbers. That resulted in stalemate. The quirked and quirkless agreed on a ceasefire and decided to erect a government that supported both sides equally. Unfortunately, there were dozens of extremist groups from both sides that didn't like such an outcome.

And so, The First Quirk War came to be. From then, humanity lost its edge against nature. It lost science. Nature had won.

"Not any longer." Sora promised. He would fight against nature. If the quirks were what caused humanity's downfall and all the misery he has been through, then getting rid of quirks was perhaps the solution. And so, he became one of the most feared vigilantes as he worked toward his objective. It was then that Sora recalled something from the previous cycles: The Eight Percepts of Death and their research into developing a "cure" for quirks.

Sora began targeting them. He wanted in on the research. After all, they shared the same objective. But, that was how he came to find out about the miserable life of a little girl that continued to suffer under the leader. She was the main resource required to produce the cure. When Sora set his eyes on the little girl for the first time, he felt a sensation unlike anything ever before. He desired her. Be it as a little sister or daughter, he wanted to keep the poor girl close to himself, everything else be damned.

That was the day that Sora awakened one of his "sins". The true price for his power. The first awakening being Greed. As a result of that, Sora tapped into the true potential of his quirk for the first time. When the target of his Greed was threatened, he acted up. The ability to "erase" quirks as he believed it to be managed to erase the leader out the present and future. He could erase beyond quirks. The very moment he realized that, he thought of something. If he could erase what existed, could he also erase the nonexistence of something?

From then on, with each passing cycle, Sora grew in power and alongside him did the sins. Pride gave him utter confidence. Greed had him hoarding those he treasured. Wrath manifested whenever someone messed with his hoard. Envy had him sinking into research to acquire what others had. Lust had him committing debauchery without any second thoughts. Sloth had him taking in underlings and slaves to do his bidding that which he couldn't bother with. The only sin that either didn't manifest or did so in an obscure manner was Gluttony.

Present Day – Aftermath of the Special Test

-----

"I am sorry," All Might bowed in front of the students in front of him, "I was aware that anything that came as a result of Nezu's plans and involved Young Hado would turn out this way. However, as a result of my own cowardice, you all ended up getting hurt."

Class 1A could only stand with shock apparent on their faces. THE All Might was bowing to them as a form of sincere apology. While the experience was still fresh on their minds, they inherently felt uncomfortable seeing their teacher like this.

"No, All Might!" Ochaco was the first to speak up. "This isn't your fault at all!"

"Yeah, All Might," Eijiro quickly supported, "if anything we have ourselves to blame for falling for the act even though we should've been aware of it…"

The rest of the students followed suit in expressing their support for the notion that All Might was faultless, while they themselves were the ones that were lacking. In the beginning, it was already made clear that Sora would be the villain. All he did was act out his role PERFECTLY.

When the test was over, Sora helped everyone regain consciousness and healed anyone that was injured. As it turned out, those that they thought were dead were only being controlled by Sora to appear that way. The excessive blood was also caused by Sora. He fooled them completely. When asked why did he go this far when he could've ended everything fast, Sora explained his reasoning to them.

"I would much rather you all experience this hardship in a safe and controlled environment rather than in the battlefield with actual villains. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if any of you ever were to die as a result of me holding back on a true learning opportunity. Even if you all come to hate me for my actions, I believe it a worthy price for your future well-being. This wouldn't be the first time I've done something like this, neither would it be the last. Be it with you or others I treasure, I will not take any chances."

Awed, stunned, amazed, shocked, and a variety of other such emotions coursed through the students. They didn't think of it that deeply. The prejudice caused as a result of their teachers calling him "Satan" made them believe that he did it all for his own amusement. However, that couldn't be farther from the truth. In his own (perhaps a little twisted) way, Sora cared about them much more than they thought. That was made even clearer when he suddenly turned to speak with Bakugou.

"The same goes for how I've been treating you. Katsuki, you need to understand that hardheadedness of yours will be the cause of great loss for you. Just so that you know, I am aware of your PAST. We will be having a private conversation about that soon enough."

Upon his mentioning of the past, the students notice that both Katsuki and Izuku flinched. That got them curious. Just what could Sora know about Katsuki's past that them reacting like this? However, it was clear that Sora had pure intentions in every action he took.

Or, that was exactly what Sora wanted them to believe. They weren't aware of it, but their thoughts were precisely how Sora wanted them to be. For Sora that has lived dozens of lifetimes (often which are longer than normal human lifespans by at least twice), manipulating the emotions of a bunch of fifteen year old hero students was like breathing. He could do it subconsciously.

There wasn't anything complicated about the process. What he had previously done made them dislike him at the very least. So, by providing them with a reasoning that countered their bad thoughts, guilt would rise up and give birth to new, opposing emotions. Respect, awe, appreciation, and even affection. It was simple human psychology.

With such new emotions, the students began to rethink everything that occurred in the special test. They suffered a complete defeat at the hands of their opponent. One thing that stood out about the process was that Sora didn't just overwhelm them with power. No, he attacked their fragile minds. He found and targeted a huge weakness of theirs. Something that they needed to fix.

That was why the students couldn't stand All Might blaming himself for anything, when there was nothing to be regretful of in the first place. Everyone played the role they were supposed to today. It's just that one of them did it perfectly while the rest were lacking.

Perhaps, that's exactly what the principal desired to have them taught: What they truly needed to work on and the true worth of their periwinkle-haired classmate. What have they been doing up until now? Seeing a classmate in an injured state was all it took for them to be rendered useless in battle.

"It's true that you can't blame yourself for this, Buff Oaf." Sora stated calmly. "I'm pretty sure you couldn't have done anything in the first place, considering how that rat is behind all this."

"No." Yagi disagreed. "I could've warned them."

"But then, the special test wouldn't be as effective as it was meant to be." Sora countered.

Yagi remained silent. He knew. There was a reason behind everything that Nezu did. This entire test wasn't just something done on a whim. What made him feel the worst was seeing that it actually worked. The students now had a much more serious and determined aura.

"I… Got it." Yagi stopped bowing. He then gave them all a toothy smile. "I MUST SAY, EVEN IF IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT, YOU ALL DID VERY WELL, CONSIDERING WHO YOUR OPPONENT WAS."

That statement got the students curious. Once again, Sora was placed on a pedestal. Just what was up with this classmate of theirs? Then, All Might explained in a calm manner, "This entire process you just went through has been something that all the upper years have experienced in a different manner."

OH! Now, it made sense. The reason why those in the cafeteria treated Sora the way they did. They were already blessed (totally not cursed) with his guidance. Though, when did Sora do that?

"Before being admitted into UA as a proper student, Young Hado had already been well-acquainted with UA's staff and students. After all, one his lovers is-"

All of a sudden, All Might's words drowned out as his eyes widened comically. Oh shit. He fucked up. He fucked up bad.

Sora was smiling. A smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. Fucked. He was going to suffer.

"Wait, what?!" Mina exclaimed. "Sora has a lover in UA?! From the way you said it, not just one at that?!"

While it wasn't apparent, Mina was feeling slightly uncomfortable with the revelation. Just as she was getting to like him a bit, it's revealed he already has lover(S). Two other female students were feeling the same slight discomfort, but didn't show it on their face either.

"No way, dude. You have a harem?" Denki asked with a hint of respect(?) in his voice.

"It's not surprising considering his looks and power." Tsuyu remarked.

"Tch. An actual Prince Charming." Katsuki muttered with a scoff.

"Though he is a being of light, he revels in banquets of darkness." Fumikage said with an exaggerated motion of his arm.

Usually, Tooru would find herself curious about romantic relationships and such. But, for some reason, all she felt with the current topic was annoyance.

On the other end of the spectrum, Momo, someone that would usually find such conversations bland and pointless, was feeling annoyed as well. Momo was a smart girl. She realized that if she felt that way, then she might have developed a crush…? No way, her developing a crush? While she was a fan of romance, that was only limited to works of fiction. So, with such a realization, Momo felt a little empty, not knowing what to do.

It was at this point that Tenya suddenly voiced loudly, "Such relationships is unbecoming of a UA student! You should be focusing on your studies no matter what!"

Out of every comment and remark, the one that bothered Sora most was Tenya's as he felt his brow twitching. "Seriously? You do realize I excel in every aspect of school right now, right?"

Tenya was rendered speechless. Relationships got in the way of studies. That was not debatable. But, what can be said about Sora? He was an ace. Ah, everything made sense now. Sora should've never been judged by his normal standards. He was beyond them in every aspect.

"I apologize for my pointless advice. You clearly have it all figured out already."

"Yeah, whatever," Sora responded with a roll of his eyes, "just don't be so stuck up about this sort of stuff with me in the future. Who knows, I might lose my patience one day."

That moment, Tenya felt a chill down his spine. For some reason, he instinctively felt like avoiding a potential future in which Sora lost his patience. While he didn't know what would happen, it definitely won't be anything good for him.

"Hey, answer our questions," Mina spoke up once again, "who are your lovers? What class are they in? Second years? Third years? Or both?"

"It could also be a teacher, you know?" Sora remarked with a smirk.

Mina's eyes widened. "No way! But… isn't that not allowed?"

"Not for me," Sora said before chuckling.

"Who, though?" Denki questioned.

"I'm just kidding. Also, the reason I am so acquainted with UA and the staff is that my sister is a third year hero course student." Sora explained.

"But All Might said-" Tsuyu began, only to be interrupted by Sora, "That Buff Oaf simply misspoke."

Many of them felt like that wasn't the truth. But, Sora's expression showed that he didn't wish to continue this topic any longer. So, they let it be. After all, they can figure it out later anyway.

"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE. HEROICS CLASS IS OVER. YOU'VE STILL GOT TWO CLASSES LEFT BEFORE THE DAY ENDS. QUICKLY CHANGE BACK INTO YOUR UNIFORMS AND MAKE YOUR BACK TO CLASS."

And so, the aftermath of the special concluded. With it, new convictions were born. Within the students, a small flame was lit that would continue to grow from henceforth. And, it was all thanks to one classmate. While they were still somewhat iffy about the way he went about it, they understood his intentions.

The rest of the day consisted of normal classes. One of which was the history class. Due to the events of the the special test, a lot of students found themselves glancing at Sora every now and then, something he pretended not to notice.

However, thanks to that, they noticed something. When their history teacher, Midnight, entered the class, her eyes focused on Sora as she lightly smiled, to which Sora smiled back. Then, both of their expressions turned neutral as if nothing had happened. But, the students already noticed it.

As Nemuri began class, a few students thought about what was said earlier that day. Sora had lovers in the school. It could be a teacher. Was Sora dating Midnight?! While it could be that they were just acquainted and on friendly terms, but they didn't have any other female teachers, did they?

Such thoughts continued to swirl within their minds even after school ended.

Sora was preparing for going home when someone approached him. It was their dear invisible girl, Tooru.

"Hey," she greeted.

"Hello. Did you need something?"

"Remember when you said you would help with my costume?" She asked after a moment of hesitation.

"Oh, of course!" Sora responded with a bright smile. "Can you contact your family and tell them you will be going home late today, if possible?"

"Yes, I can do that. Give me a minute." Tooru then went ahead did as was requested. A few minutes later Tooru found herself standing in front of a seated Sora. The only ones left in the class were the two of them, Momo, Izuku, Tenya, and Ochaco.

The others were staring at the two with questioning looks on their faces.

"Ah, sorry guys, I have to do something for Tooru. So, I won't be accompanying you guys today." (A/N:- He uses the -chan suffix, but what did I say? That's right, I ain't writing that shit down.)

Then, he turned his focus over to Momo before saying, "I assume you have something to say."

"Ah." Momo responded, getting a little nervous. "I wanted to speak with you, but I suppose that it can be delayed for another time."

"I would prefer that," Sora responded with a smile, to which Momo smiled back before she made her way out of the class.

Izuku and the other two also bid them farewell before leaving together.

"Now then," Sora said as he got up from his seat and shifted closer to Tooru, who blushed from being in close proximity with him, "can I hug you?"

"H-huh?!" What the heck? Was he making a move on her?!

"It's a requirement for my teleportation. Physical contact. It reduces the chance of you being shredded into micro pieces."

Tooru suddenly paled at the mental image of her body ripping apart. So, she quickly agreed to the contact.

Having gotten her permission, Sora lightly wrapped his arms around Tooru before pulling her close enough that her breasts were squished against chest. While it wasn't visible, Tooru's cheeks had become completely flushed as she struggled to not squeal.

"Brace yourself," was the only warning Tooru got before her vision went dark.

Oh boy, we're finally getting to the juicy parts. According to canon, USJ will be "in a few days". I don't plan to time-skip to that day. So, the next chapter will probably be romance time.

Also, USJ will basically be the last event that will be anything close to canon, but even that will go completely differently than canon.

Anyway, as was seen in this chapter, I plan to expand on quirks A LOT. I won't just be passing it off as "humans one day could do stuff they couldn't before" and boom, that's it. Quirks will be a central plotline for this novel.

P.S:- I'm wondering how NSFW should I make this story be?
