Chapter 5 ( Departure)

( The next night)

Kai was now standing on his roof, waiting for the signal he was supposed to receive, and as usual, he was keeping an eye on the happening of the town, which is how he notice the gathering of four very interesting spiritual pressures.

Kai looked a little different. His overly long hair was cut and was now in a ponytail, and he was wearing simple blue jeans and a white t-shirt with a silver chain and his sword on his hip, currently in a red sheath.

One could tell the sword inside was longer than a normal Katana, but otherwise, it didn't seem like anything special.

" I haven't been able to sense Yoru since she left that night. If I didn't know better, I would have thought she had already left."

"..."

Kai turned and looked to his right, seemingly sensing something as an object appeared flying towards him, Kai stepped to the side, dodging it as it hit his roof.

" A pie??!"

As Kai approached, the pie began to slide down the roof, revealing the message under it.

'It's time, follow the trail someone will be waiting for you and this isn't a pie.'

Reading the message, Kai looked up to see that there was actually a disappearing trail in the direction the pie came from.

And soon after seeing it, he disappeared from the roof, leaving the pie and his house in darkness.

It didn't take long for Kai to reach the end of the trail coming to a little shop with a man standing outside, seemingly waiting for him.

" Goodnight, I am Tessai. Follow me, and I will take you to where you need to go."

"....."

Kai followed behind as his hand was always on the handle of his sword, ready to attack at any time.

As they continued walking, Kai started to hear voices talking.

" The problem is the time allowed to go through the Senkaimon to the soul society is only four minutes."

" Four minutes?!?!"

" Once the time is up, the door will close, and you guys will forever be locked inside the Dangai."

Kai listened to their conversation, and if the look on his face was anything to go by, he didn't really understand what was happening.

But it didn't matter cause soon he heard a voice he remembered.

" You should know kid if you lose, you will never return." The deep voice could belong to no one else but Yoru.

" Of course, we have to win." A loud voice responded.

" Well said."

" Great, our last member should be arriving soon, and when he's here, you all can set off."

" Last member?!?!" They all asked.

" Kisuke, you didn't tell me about another member. Who is it??" Yoru asked.

" Funny, you should ask..."

STEP!!!

STEP!!

The sound of footsteps echoed, alerting everyone present to the presence of someone else.

And as they turned, they spotted Tessai and Kai walking down the steps towards them.

" Who is that??"

" Kai!!!" Yoruichi shouted as quickly turned and anger filled her eyes as she looked at Kisuke.

In response, Kisuke simply smiled at her.

It didn't take long for Kai to reach them, and as he did, he picked up Yoru and placed her on his shoulder.

" Kai, why are you here? This isn't your problem."

" I'm here to keep you safe, and your problems are also mine. You said no more secrets when you get back, then let's start a little earlier."

Yoruichi simply kept quiet as she knew she couldn't change his mind now. It was far too late.

" Who the hell is this guy???!" An orange-haired kid asked.

" It's time to go when the door opens. Run in immediately. You don't need to worry about Kai he will be of great help to you if he wants to be."

" Hey, what the hell does that mean??!"

" Let's go!" Kisuke shouted as the door opened, and everyone ran in, except the orange-haired boy who was dragged in by one of his companions.

All they saw was a bright light, and when they could finally see again, they were in what looked like a tunnel.

Everyone seemed to have forgotten the urgency of the situation as they looked around.

" What are you guys doing?!? Run!!!!."

Yoruichi's voice echoed as they turned to see Kai already moving away with Yoruichi on his shoulder, as they began to scramble to catch up.

As they ran, everything behind them began to collapse, and what looked like smoke began to form.

As it did, it touched the cape that one of them was wearing and pulled him back.

As the orange-haired boy was about to pull out his sword to help him, Yoruichi's voice sounded.

" Don't use your sword. It will trap your soul!"

In response, his other companion ripped off the cape and threw him on his shoulder as the continued running.
