THE END OF US

He is the creator of this chaos.

"I will kill you, you bitch." The raging chief said and took out his sword. "Kill her." He commanded his man and with that, all of them lashed at her with their swords. Megara stood rooted to her feet, seeing those ragging men coming towards her, she did not step back nor did she use her magic.

Evandros narrowed his gaze and cursed under his breath when he realized that he didn't mention that she was his mate...if he did they wouldn't lash at her due to his fear even though they knew they had no love between them.

The sword was just inches away from her, even Agnes stepped back so the man could have better excess to kill her. But before the sword could touch her, a clashing force came against it, making the man almost fly away. Megara frowned...who would protect her? Her pupils dilated when she saw Master Shin standing in front of her. The rain heavily poured on them and it was hard to see. Megara's tears mixed up with the rain as she no longer held back, she let those tears fall. When no one was beside her...he was.

"I promised your father...that I will protect you. I know...you didn't do this. I know but these people will kill you. RUN AWAY." He yelled and attacked the coming forces, everyone running towards her from every corner, Evenor stayed rooted in his place. He stumbled when the people bumped his shoulder harshly to get to Megara.

Megara slowly stepped back. Since Master Shin was standing beside her, even his life was in danger now...because of her.

Master Shin continues to fight.

"Go, Blossom. I won't be able to face your father if you die while I'm still with you." Shin said and grunted when someone lashed his arm with a sword. Megara, not knowing what to do, quickly stepped back and turned around. The only place to escape was the exit of the ground. If Zale stepped forward to protect her, it means he will be destroying the Sect as well. He stayed rooted to his place. The sight in front of him...the sight. He felt his warm tears sliding down his cheek mixing with raindrops. The thunder echoed in the sky. His friend Shin was on the ground, people lashing at his body. Digging their swords in him, it looked like ants swarming around their food. On the other hand, Megara was running out of the exit with lots of men running behind her with their swords in their hands, yelling at her. The sight was horrible and frightening. The sword he was holding fell on the wet ground as well as he was on his knees.

"Are you delighted?" Zale asked while glaring up at Evandros. Evandros stayed rooted in his place, drenched in rain he stared at the scene with a deadpan face.

"Why don't I feel relieved?" He asked himself and with that he abruptly turned around, walking away. Zale stared at his back before looking up at the sky. A man was wailing within and so was the sky weeping.

Before she could completely exit the ground, Megara turned to look at Shin. She whimpered and almost tripped when she didn't see Shin but a lot of men moving their swords up and down with blood on the tip. Her eyes broadened when she saw a familiar clothed butchered arm being thrown away from that specific spot.

She could hear her heartbeat in her ears. All of a sudden she stumbled and fell onto the wet muddy ground. The men coming behind her fastened their steps.

"DONTTT MOVEEEEE." She screamed, and the men surrounding Shin's body stopped as the whole conference fall into silence and stillness. She stood up on her trembling legs and grabbed a specific sword that one of the men who was running behind her was holding. The man threw daggers at her as she walked past him.

With a deadly gaze, she ran toward the men surrounding Shin's body, and within three minutes she butchered all of them. She was drenched in blood as she harshly pushed all the bodies away to find Shin's body. A painful sob escaped her lips when she found his almost butchered body. The sight...the sight was awful. The pain she felt was indescribable. The pain he felt was unbearable. He died for a promise he made to his friend while the man above on the throne wailed for death but he stood still for his sect. Didn't he make a promise to protect her as well? But, it's alright. He had taken her side thousands of times. She doesn't want any more people to die because of her. She doesn't blame him. Her uncle did the right thing. Sect matters the most but he should have at least saved his friend. She looked at Evenor and Agnes. Both of their heads hung low. The guards of Linya stood still as the blonde kneeled between them, his hooded gaze fixated on her.

The stillness and silence were gone when she heard the screaming man rushing towards her from the exit. She sadly chuckled and looked down at Shin. "You fulfilled your promise, I won't die where you reside." She whispered and with that, she leaped out of the conference hall.

She wanted to die but not where he was.

The sound of thunder fell on her ears as she rushed through the forest, her steps leading her to the end of her destination. She chuckled and smiled sadly as she ran toward the edge of the cliff.

'Evandro, you did great.' She thought and finally came out of the trees, rushing towards the cliff. The rain was heavy and the sound of thunder could be heard as she rushed toward the edge of the ridge. The men behind her yelled for her to stop, they wanted to kill her themselves. Gave her the same death they gave to the person who stood for her.

She paused on her steps when she heard painful grunts behind her. She slowly turned around and found all the men on the floor, blood surrounding them, and she saw a man dangling in the air as a familiar figure was choking him. A loud cracking noise echoed in the rain and the man harshly threw the body away, making it roll almost to the edge of the cliff.

Evandros slowly turned around and looked at Megara through his thick drenched lashes. Found her standing near the cliff, covered in blood and mud, face bruised up...and eyes so dead.

He felt weird. He doesn't feel happy. To push this weird feeling away, he even killed some people but the feeling stayed. He twisted his neck and walked forward only to find her stepping back.

"What? That's it? You're going to kill yourself? Don't you want the stones?" He asked while shaking a pouch in front of his face. She stared at him...the stillness of heartbeats and the sound of rain...mixed together, created an environment...environment of the end.

Megara sadly chuckled...

"Who told you I need them?" She asked and he tilted his head at her. "Wasn't this the reason you killed my mother and your master?" He rasped and she tilted her head back at him...but lifelessly.

"I made myself clear back then...your weak heart just couldn't take a woman's betrayal." She said and he snorted, his jaw twitching as he clutched the pouch tightly in his hand. His nails turned black and long, his eyes turning red as he stared at her.

"I don't care about you or your goddamn betrayal. I care about my mom who you killed... because of your selfish desire your master died and today master Shin as well. Who is to blame?" He asked while stepping forward.

"I..." She said in a low voice but he heard it.

His eyes narrowed, he didn't expect her to admit it so easily.

"I am to blame." She continued and slowly looked up at him. She hit her hand on her chest. "I am to blame." She continued and slapped herself. "I am to blame." She slapped herself again, turning her cheeks purple and bluish.

"And that's why I deserve to die." She said and stepped backward. She took out a knife from the belt around her waist and looked at it with keen interest. "But don't you need these?" He asked and she looked up at him.

"You still...you s-still don't get it?" She asked and he frowned. "What?" He asked. "You set me up. Didn't you?" She asked and he curtly nodded. "I did." He venomously let out.

"I didn't have all those three stones." She said and raised the knife near her face. "I hope this will give you a little sense." She said and he gritted his teeth in anger. "Just say it." He grounded.

"I was falsely accused by you today. What makes you think I wasn't falsely accused back then too?" She asked and he paused. "I had no words to defend myself today even though I did nothing. What makes you think that the same didn't happen back then? Didn't the son repeat his father's deeds?" She raised a question.

His lips parted and eyes broadened, he didn't get any time to process as he was still on a track of realization when his eyes witnessed her stabbing herself in the stomach. Blood spilled out of her mouth as she groaned in distress.

She chuckled and looked up at him.

"But n-now you took y-your revenge. Ar-Are you happy?" She asked in a hoarse voice and he stared at her with his throbbing orbs. A sob escaped her lips and her tears fell along with the raindrops.

"I hate you f-for what you did t-today...You h-hate me...I-I hate you the s-same way but d-don't w-worry I won't let my h-hate harm you the w-way your h-hate destroyed m-me along with t-thousand others."

"Evandros Linya I-I want to curse y-you for life b-but what to *cough* do. I a-am to bla-blame too." She stammered with blood spilling out of her mouth. Evandros stayed rooted to his place, he felt something warm rolling down his cheek, huh? It must be raindrops.

"J-Just spare my U-Uncle, m-my sect, my di-disciples, and m-my friends." Even after Evenor and Agnes showed their back to her, she still wanted them to be safe. This was a game of perception.

"I'm s-sorry...b-back then...I-I wanted to p-protect you b-but I was j-just a weak child a-against your father." She said and looked up at him. "I-I am to b-blame,... Evan." She said and smiled. Her eyes closed and with a smiling face, she threw herself back.

"Ha...no, wait." Evandros teleported to her spot but it was too late, only the tip of their fingers grazed together. "Don't kill anymore." She yelled at the top of her lungs, her voice filled with pain yet excitement. She was happy to die. His red throbbing orbs watched her fall down the cliff with a smile on her face. Even the sky wailed as it thundered on her fall.

Evandros fell on his knees, his hand still extended forward as he watched her tiny body fall into the stormy lake triggered due to the heavy rainfall and it vanished from his sight completely and forever.

Megara was gone.

Megara was gone.

Evandros continued to stare at the spot where she fell into the water. She is gone. He lowered his arm and chuckled. He was chuckling in order to betray his crying heart. Who was he betraying?

He covered his face with his shaking hands.

Perhaps, she was also set up back then by his father since his father only wanted his son's demon. Did he miss this? Was he so blinded by revenge that he forgot to notice something? Did he miss a step? What did he do? Where did it go wrong? He looked down with blurry vision.

"Megara?"

"Scarlet?"

His breath hitched when he realized something...no no no fucking impossible. Or what if it is possible? If it's possible then...he took his revenge and she is gone but he.....

"Ahh...Ahhh...fuck....AHHHH!" He banged his arms on the ground.

Megara is gone...the woman, once he loved so dearly, is gone. Just the thought of not seeing her anymore made a black aura surround him. His eyes turned red, his nails grew long and black.

Just where did they go wrong?

Finally admitting his tears, he looked up at the sky.

He is going mad already.

His chest moved up and down as he sobbed, he shouldn't be crying like this, he achieved what he wanted. Instead of feeling satisfaction, he is feeling unbearable distress.

"Oh, God!"

Under the wailing sky, he sobbed...not feeling anything other than distress and not accepting anything....not even her death.

But the truth is.

She is gone...forever and ever.
