ALONE

Not only green, not only red but black as well...she had all three stones resting on her palm.

With a shaky breath, she stared at her palm in utter disarray as a deep frown was plastered on her features. An uproar rose at the conference once everyone was out of her magic. Some were staring at her palm while conversing with each other while some were yelling at her for using her magic on them but when they noticed the three stones on her palm, it triggered them.

Megara was dumbfounded.

So...this was his agenda.

"Megara?"

She snapped her head up and noticed Evenor staring at her with sheer disappointment in his gaze. Her heart fell into the pit of her stomach as she stared at him shocked. Her lips trembled as she shook her head.

He will believe her.

Even back then he didn't leave her side.

She stepped towards him but what she witnessed next had her spirit completely crushing. She felt like someone was clawing at her heart and her throat was hurting. She felt the rim of her eyes burning as she gaped at Evenor. He held his sword in his right hand, the sharp tip of his sword pointing toward her as a flame of fire danced in his left hand.

"Megara...y-you." Evenor stammered he parted his lips to say further but words were stuck in his throat. It's fine if she had the green or red stone with her but why does she possess the black stone as well? Perhaps, everyone was right back then.

So the black stone was with her all this time. All three of them were shining and had a unique color within them, indicating that those three stones weren't fake.

"She had the black stone all this time. I told you she is behind it all. She killed her master for the black stone. She has it in her palm...see." A man yelled in the crowd, pointing towards Megara's palm. But Megara's gaze was busy caressing Evenor's tears.

The black stone was the end of her.

Even Evenor won't believe her now.

She was played with very well...once again.

"Have you guys gone crazy? If she possessed the three stones, why would she even come here with them in the first place?" Master Shin lashed out at them. "She didn't expect things to turn out like this. Fine, she came with the stones or not. Why the hell does she have the black stone? Didn't the other two stones belong to Chief Zale? Why does she have them?" The other lashed back at him. Master Shin licked his lips and turned to look at Megara. He knew something was not right but he had no words or proof to defend her at the moment.

The heart of a lover has been broken.

It has been shattered.

"Evenor...I-I don't know." Megara faltered. Her breathing was almost uneven. She knew Evandros would come...she thought he would come to slaughter her and eradicate her Sect but she had no idea...the thing he was intending to do to her was worse than demise.

If he doesn't believe her... then her uncle.

Her dreadful gaze glided up to her uncle. She felt as if she was lifting a mountain, she felt a lot of pressure on her shoulders especially the back of her head. With an unstable footing, she stared up at her uncle...who held the same disappointing look on his face but his head hung low.

She...she lowered his head in front of so many people. She disappointed those who fought for her. She stepped back staring at her uncle. "Uncle...I didn't do it." She said, but only she could hear it. She looked at the three stones in her palm and moved her palm towards Evenor.

"I don't n-need them. I don't care ab----." The hand she held towards Evenor was slapped away by him. The three stones fall on the floor. Some of the people quickly grabbed them in their hands, from deep down they were dancing in happiness but their faces had agitation written on it.

Megara lowered her hand as well as her head. "I didn't do it. Not back then...not now. You hear me. I DIDN'T DO IT." She yelled with her head low. She looked like a mentally unstable person, yelling that she is not mentally unstable...that she is all normal but those stares tell her that she is not normal.

That this is what she is.

This is what she was.

"Was it you? Was it you who started the plague in the Shu Clan just to get the red stone." A couple of people walked forward, they belonged to the extinct Shu Clan. Megara Slowly looked up and found a girl standing in front of her. She was slightly smaller in height than Megara. She wore a bamboo hat with a thin curtain covering her face, half of her face was covered by a black cloth.

Megara's heart was thudding so intensely, it felt like it would come out of her throat.

Even the Plague in the Shu Clan...was now on her head since she got the red stone from there.

"I...I didn't." Megara said, not fully facing the woman. "Really?" The woman asked, as soon as her voice fell on Megara's ears, her eyes broadened. She slowly turned towards the woman who was now taking off her bamboo along with her mask.

Megara took a deep shaky breath when her eyes saw a familiar face that she was so desperate to see. "Agnes," Megara whispered under her whiff and grabbed Agnes' shoulders. Even Evenor was surprised to see her but he paid no attention to her. He was too broken at the moment. Everyone was focusing on the betrayal they got without trying to focus on the bigger picture.

Isn't this how the mind works?

"Was it you?" Agnes asked while gritting her teeth. Her eyes were red and she looked extremely weak. What made Megara loosen her grip on Agnes was her gaze and her question. Even she...Even she...

"I didn't," Megara said and Agnes nodded. "Then why do you have the stone? How did you get it? Wasn't it you who killed all those people who came along with you to the rescue?" She asked, she was already accusing her. Megara shook her head and snapped her head up at Evandros, who silently stood against the pillar with a straight face.

"He was with me there too." She yelled while pointing at Evandros. Every head turned towards him and he smirked. Standing up straight he walked forward now standing on the very front of the throne. "Yes, I went there for the stone and yes she wasn't the one who killed those who came along with us...it was me." He said and everyone began to gossip with each other. The situation was extremely complicated but in the end, it all fell on her.

"My sole purpose was the stone and to get a hold of her. In the end, I got the hold of her but not the stone...I admit what I did. I won't lie here but I never said it was me who started the plague. I knew this would come on me...so I came prepared." He said and clapped his hand once. His menacing gaze fell on Megara who looked petrified and almost dead. It was like before but the people were different and the situation was worse, this time there was no going back.

The loud sound of drums echoed in the ground when a group of people all wearing Linya's uniform entered the conference. They held chains in their hands. Everyone turned toward the scene including Megara. She knew it wasn't her but when he said he came prepared and after seeing this she knew...he had won.

What they saw was a beaten-up man with blonde hair. He was badly beaten up and was limping. He had chains wrapped around his neck and his upper body. The chains were being held by the guards. "This man...here is the one who started the plague." Evandros rasped. The people of Shu Clan sprinted towards the man, landing one or two punches on his face but who stopped them wasn't Evandros or the guards, it was Agnes. She stood still in her place.

"If you don't believe me, you can look into his memories. You will find her." Evandros mused and everyone was even more shocked. This was the biggest proof itself if it's against Megara then... it's all over. Megara knew it was against her but how was such a thing possible? She never heard of such magic.

She stepped back from Agnes and stared at the blonde man which she had never seen before. The man looked up at Megara from the other side of the fountain and raised his hand toward her. "Because of you." He said in a slow yet loud voice. Megara shook her head and completely turned towards him, her back facing Agnes and her right side facing Evenor and Master Shin.

"Stop lying." Megara gritted her teeth in anger and the man shook his head. "Check my memory." He said and then a man stepped forward. The same man who was a lion among foxes. He walked past Megara and towards the beaten-up blonde man. He was famous for his magic, he had the same magic that Marco's disciple had but a lot more powerful.

Powerful in a way that the memory he is seeing if he wants he can also make others see them no matter the number of people. Megara felt tears brimming the edge of her eyes, she saw her end by the time the distance between the two men faded. She felt so helpless, this time her helplessness is beyond the one she experienced before.

The man grabbed the blonde's head harshly and started to chant a spell. Suddenly something came in front of Megara's sight. For a clear view, she closed her eyes and saw that man's memories. He stopped on the memory he wanted. A gasp left Megara's lips when she found herself in his remembrances.

What is she doing there?

It's not her.

IT'S NOT HER.

She sat in front of him on the table, handing him a box filled with gold coins. The gold coins with the front liberation sect's stamp on them. So many coins, only a master of the sect can have. Having a sects coin is of a lot of worth against the normal coins.

They were talking about the plague. No matter how she looked at it, the woman looked exactly like her and behaved like her as well. This is not her. What kind of black magic did he use? What kind of sinister magic is this? That blonde is with them. The sight vanished and she slowly opened her eyes, gazing at the fountain of liquor with almost a dead gaze. People around her yelled at her, cursed her, and threatened to kill her. They were ready to lash at her but she could not hear them anymore.

All of a sudden Agnes grabbed Blossom's arm and harshly turned her around. What Megara felt next was a stinging pain on her left cheek. The taste of blood melted on her tongue. Before she could process what happened she received another slap on her right cheek.

"Because of you, I lost my soulmate. B-Because of you, we lost our Clan, our master. A-All this time you were a snake behind our back...just die." Agnes screamed as she showered Megara's face with harsh slaps. Evenor stood still in his place. He wanted to kill her.

He wanted to kill himself for loving someone like her.

Evandros is bad but he was right.

Agnes stopped and pushed Megara away. Megara stumbled back and kept her head low. Her loosened ribbon fell on the ground as her hair swayed with the cold wind now filled with some raindrops. Megara kept her head low, her hair covering her bruised face. Her lip was busted and both of her cheeks were swollen, they started stinging by the time some tears caressed them.

Her uncle stood on the stage, his gaze blurry as he gazed at Megara. After seeing all the proof he had no words to defend her with...Master Shin gazed at Zale with his tearful eyes before looking back at Megara.

"I'm sorry," Shin whispered under his whiff.

Evandros stood in his place, his arms clasped behind his back. People are so easy to fool especially when the culprit is a strong woman. Men can't afford to see a woman stronger than them so they go blind or pretend to be blind, lashing at the woman.

He felt uneasy instead of feeling the excitement he wanted to feel. What is this feeling that is crushing his throat? The rain has started to drench him.

"Because of you, I lost my son in the Shu Clan." A tearful and raging chief stepped forward, even though she wasn't the one who killed his son but the man standing on the throne. Just like Evandros said, they can't afford a strong woman so when they see her as weak, they chew at her. He knew he wasn't like them. The first thing he found attractive about her was her strong personality. This wasn't the main concept though...she was already accused of such things before. The game he played left her undefendable. Now, no Zale, no Agnes, and even her dear lover Evenor are not on her side.

He is the creator of this chaos.
