Days came and went as Madison and Reuben relationship progressed
While Ted and Gowon try to patch up their own relationship.
Trina often visit her mother with Gowon sometimes with Asher.
Finally the day of comic inventory enterprise's anniversary arrived.
Men and Women beautifully dressed crowded the lawn.
Ted and Asher look around in search of Gowon and Trina."Are you sure they're gonna come?".Asher inquiries.
"Yeah!I invited them...".His voice trails on seeing Gowon who walked in with Trina,she was donned into a lemon classy chiffon dress that has multi layered skirt floated around her knee covered with a lemon leather coat.Her hair fell over her shoulder with her lips painted red and a jeweled clasp at her neck.
"I will never look this good ever again"She declared seriously.
"If you notice men are looking at you, your attractive Gowon-".
"Not for Ted,he prefers soft hearted ladies not me".
"Is that why you dress up like this".Trina sigh."I prefer the real you better".
"Have never been so vulnerable but now I feel helpless because I fell for that bastard!".She muttered through gritted teeth.
"Gowon-".
"You look natural but still so pretty".Her lips pathed into a smile at Trina who was in a peach silk gown with a army boot and a winter coat over her shoulder with her hair fallen around her shoulder." Asher can't take his eyes off you".That's when Trina realized that Asher was standing beside Ted in a midnight blue suit that highlighted his violet eyes.
Trina tried to avoid his burning gaze that was boring into hers,she felt heat rushing up to her cheek as his eyes flicks up and down checking her out.
"Gowon,y..your dress- ".
"Like Barbie".Her voice was husky without trying to hide it as she glare at Jasmina who was talking to some business men in the patio."She did a good job in decorating here".She deadpan.
The entire lawn was lit with decorated bulbs, table covered in white linen and decorated with flowers and burning candles. Waitress and waiter passes with silver tray of champagne and offer it to guests.
Banquets table had been set on the left side of the lawn. And in the center a huge multi layered cream cake surrounded with large bouquets of flowers."Right Trina?".Trina dismissed her comment with a scoff.
"I doubt it's her,she isn't capable".She replied irritatingly.
Asher let out a low laugh.
"You look pretty Gowon,with and without all this".Gowon smiled,She felt satisfied with his warming words.
"Your so sweet Asher,why aren't you two together yet".Gowon giggle.
"Am craving for cupcake, can you come with me?".Trina asked.
"If you want us to give them space, you should just say it instead of making excuses".He said with an annoying grin.
He pad his feet towards the banquet table and picked up a cupcake.
"Gosh!your so annoying Asher".She grab it from him and took a bite.
"Thanks".She narrows her eyes."Have heard that a lot of time,please say something new"He picked up a glass of champagne and gulps it at once.
"Am not talking to you".She retorts and focused on her cupcake.
Asher stood still for nearly half an hour gawking and watching her every reaction and expression. He couldn't dare to take his eyes off her,she was beauteous in his eyes.Trina felt his burning gaze on her throughout the time she was ignoring him.
She tries to overlook it but she couldn't, the way his gaze affected her was inexplicable.
She whirl back and snapped. "What?can you stop staring!".
"What did I do?".He said giving her a feign innocent look.
"Y..you know..I knew that you..yo..you were staring yet you still stared harder to make me uncomfortable huh!".She stammer.
He shrug nonchalantly and popped berries into his mouth."What can I do when a gorgeous lady is right in front of me?".He bestow a flirtatious smile on her.
Her face turned red as she looked away.Asher chuckled."Can I have this dance with you consider it as paying for your debt".Her brow scrunch together in confusion.
"I never owe you any damn thing!!".She scowl."Besides I can't dance so well,I might step on your expensive sneakers,I'll embarrass you-".
"You've done that quite well since I met you".He let out a low laugh on seeing her reaction. He took a step closer to her,closing the distance between them."Don't keep a gentleman waiting".Trina scoffs.
"Gentleman my foot....".Her voice trails as his hand slides to her waist and led her to the dance floor. Everyone couldn't help but gasp in shock on seeing Asher Lee face to face especially in the arms of a pretty lady,they'll agreed they were indeed the most perfect couple.
"Tell me how your mom is now?".Her heart felt warm with the look of concern in his voice.
She smiled."I..don't really know,all I know is that she's still alive,I hope she gets well soon".She sigh."I can't wait to get to know her".He gave her a slight nod.
"When I said you looked beautiful I meant every bit of it".He said with a hint of seriousness.
She looked up into his serious eyes which she was gradually drowning into the spell of his deep voice and silver eyes."I know you did"She whispered and place her head against his hardened chest.
"You didn't tell me you dance so well,here I am waiting for you to embarrass the charming Asher Lee".He says dramatically.
In his arms she hardly noticed how well she danced with him.
He laughed.And moved his body with her and her body willing responds to his movement as their body moved together to the rhythm to the sweet melodious song.
"It's all thanks to you".She stood on her toe and planted a kiss to his cheek. She bit her lips in defeat. 'I love you'.Those words she couldn't dare to say.
Jasmina made her way towards Gowon and Ted who was having an animate discussion.
"Ted!!".She called and embraced him as she felt Gowon cold glare stabbing her behind her back.
Ted gently pulled her and laughed nervously.
"How do you like the party?".Jasmina asked him instead Gowon replies.
"It would have been splendid if a certain someone stop interrupting I and my boyfriend! ".Gowon shoot closer to Ted.
Jasmina gave a low laugh.
"You don't have to be so possessive I need Ted for work Gowon,if you can't let him go then why the heck is he working for me!".She snaps.
"I..I need to go Gowon,please".He added.
"After that you quit your job".She declared.
"I can't promise you that".He paused"Am sorry".He said and walked away with Jasmina.
"What is it?".He asked coldly.
"Don't be like that Ted....I have something for you".Jasmina said shyly. "Here".She handed him a watchcase .He took it and opened it.
"I can never accept it,it's too expensive besides I take gifts only from my girlfriend and friends-".
"Aren't I your friend?".
"No".He said quickly.
His words stings as tears dares to well from her eyes.
"I..I..what am I to you".She demanded to know.He handed the case to her.
"Am sorry...".She grab him by the collar and forcefully kissed him,refusing to let go.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!!".
