CHAPTER 29

Madison threw herself off her bed and dashed to the bathroom. She took a quick bath and got dressed. She cursed loudly as she stared at the clock that hung on her wall."Damn,am so late".

She arrange her necessary books into her bag and ran down the stairs.

"Madison!!!!!".She heard her uncle Ben roared as he made his way towards her. She grimace by the sight of her drunk Uncle."Where the heck do you think your going without giving me my breakfast huh??".

"School besides the money I drop for you,you spend it on drinks with your crazy Friends!!!".She growled.

"You darn demonic child!!!".He yanked her hair as she wince in pain."How dare you raise your voice at me,do you think am a worthless child like you?I spend my days working to provide food for you and to take care of your stupid mother and now you can't repay me for my kindness!!".He threw her to the floor as she hit her back against the wall.

"Repay you?".She scoff. "I work everyday to food you,I pay mama hospital bills and for her treatments, all you do is to maltreat me and steal my money and get drunk!!if mama wakes up and discover what her worthless brother does to her daughter she would hate you like I do!!!!!".She retort as Ben laugh sardonically.

"Worthless huh?do I have to remind you on how worthless you are without your father,he left you because you're worthless to him-".

"That's not true!!papa loves me and am gonna meet him in heaven!".She said breaking into a sob.

Ben laughed dryly and grab her bag,reach into the purse and brought her purse,open it and took her money and threw it at her.

"Come back here and prepare lunch for me if not I will find you in your school".He said and walk past her as she broke into a cry.

"Uncle Ben please.....that's all my saving money".After spending an hour crying, she forcefully stood up,wipe her tears and headed to school even when she was extremely late.

She halted as a car stops in front of her. she watched as Reuben walked out with his hands in his pocket as he looked around him and wrinkle his nose in disgust before his eyes fell on her red face."Is this where you stay?".He asked.

"What the hell are you doing here".She didn't want him to see the life she was actually living.

"I didn't see you in school and was worried"He paused."Everyone was,they wanted to come but I refused and decided to come alone....are you okay?your face is red,did you cry and why?".She urged him into the car before her Uncle sees him.

"Go"Before she could turn around and go,he pulled her into his arms and ordered the driver to drive.

"Why is my watermelon crying".He said dabbing her tears with his hanky. He hugs her tightly. "I miss you so much,do you?".Madison looked up at him. Only if she was perfect for him she would have let him love her but she wasn't and all she would cause to him was going to be nothing but pain.

"Reuben do I have to remind you that we aren't dating-".

"We aren't?but you love me and I like you and am starting to love you".She pulled away from him

"Am not convinced. I want you to prove it".This was the only way to get him off her hair.

"Of course".He smiled."I will prove to you but not only you but the entire world".He said beaming.

"What!you two are dating!".Trina spring her arms around Gowon,"Am so happy for you,you deserve to be happy-".

"You too darling...are nervous for the cooking test?".She heard Gowon asked as she snorts.

"Hell yeah!am so nervous that am gonna freak out,let's go to the snack bar before am late". Gowon nods in agreement, they hop on her motorbike and rode towards Mhiz Lindy snacks bar.

After they both arrive at the Snacks bar,Trina was given the test and hopefully she did well.

Trina wipe her hands on her apron before taking it off."I hope I got the job".She said as Gowon walked up to her.

"You did well am sure you'll receive a message soon that says you got the job.Come on let's go people that has a boyfriend needs to check up on them-".

"Hey!".Trina elbowed as they both laugh and walked out of the shop. Trina's phone suddenly made a beeping sound, she quickly reached into her pocket and brought it out and frown.

"What is it girl?".

"Chloe wants me to come over tonight cause uncle Keane has arrived" .Gowon studied her before she spoke.

"And do you wish to go?".A sly smile curve up Trina's lips.

"Yeah.Tonight is going to be so fun".She claps her hands together.

Staring at her cloths she wondered what to wear for tonight's dinner,she didn't want something fancy or classy, she rather go for something outdated so her dearest Uncle will see what her so called family had done to her.

Trina pulled out a black ankle length gown,big boot and pulled her hair into a messy and rode to paradise estate when her bicycle break down.

"Shit".She swore loudly as she scramble out of the bicycle. "Really!".She grunts as a black Suv halted beside her.

She watched as Nike opens the door and smile.

"Want a ride?".Trina nods.

"But don't try anything Stupid".She warned and entered as the chauffeur started the engine and zoom off."Am glad I haven't seen your face for a while".

"Do you miss me?".He laughs as he nudged her.

"Keep dreaming".She pushed him away from her as his smile fell into a frown.

"Why do you hate me so much?".He asked without showing a hint of happiness.

"I do?or is it because your a pest in my life?Do I have to remind you what you've done to me and my friends!!".She scowl.

"Because. ..I love you".He whispered for only her to hear.

Trina burst into an uncontrollable laughter causing him to glare at her.

"Isn't that what you tell all girls..oh that's my house".She pointed to the Owens mansion.

"What can I do to prove my love for you?I can happily change just for you".

Trina sigh and place her hand on his.

"Some people likes you the way you are. So don't change because of me".

She came down from the car and walk towards the sidewalk and waved at him.

Nike sigh and ordered his chauffeur to drove off."Only if I was kind to you would you love me?" .He whispered and shut his eyes.
