The Realization

Laya was still hopeful .She still expected to see him walk down to the bus stop . But how long can she wait like this . She was loosing her mind. She was going crazy thinking about the situation in her home . By now the cat would have been out of the bag . What should she do ? Whenever she switched on her phone to call Praveen she would see her phone flashing with her home number …they were trying to call her continuously . She had some 16 missed calls from different family members at home . She was scared and guilty stranded in a new town.

She was completely lost. Had no idea what to do now . She had known Praveen for only the last 6 months. She did not have any number other than Praveen's . There was no fall back number to contact to check on Praveen . She knew none in this town . What was she supposed to do .

She decided to grab a quick coffee from the nearby shop so that she can think sanely . She was terribly hungry There was limited money in Maya's wallet that she had stolen .She was filled with remorse and anger . She still could not come to terms with the fact that Praveen had ditched her . She kept on defending him in her mind , thinking of numerous excuses that could have prevented him from reaching the spot they both had agreed upon. None of her excuses were good enough to convince her .

On the other side of the town Laya's family was going crazy wondering where did Laya go. Maya was being interrogated thoroughly to figure out what happened . They were continuously calling Laya on the phone . The entire family realized Laya was missing when she did not come out of the bathroom where they all thought she was. Laya's dad Anand was furious that she was not home and was getting late for college. Laya's mom Radhika tried to convince Anand that she must have gone for a walk because she has been very conscious about how she looked for the past few months.

As the day passed Anand, Radhika and Maya frantically called all the places where they thought she might have gone. They checked with all the friends in her college. Laya's Grand mom kept on praying in her mind. This situation reminded her of a similar day in the past many years ago . But she was sure Laya would not have done what she was fearing!!...unaware of the fact that Laya had actually done what she was fearing!!
