Chapter 12

The room was filled with a variety of weapons from daggers to katana swords, normal swords, axes, hatchets, machetes, morning stars, hack saws, chainsaws, and many more she didn't recognize.

She looked at Imogen and involuntarily yo a step back.

Where's Mira, Daphne asked still moving back as Imogen took huge strides towards her with a dagger, she ran out the door but bumped into someone.

It was Ethan, as she tried to run past him, he pulled her by the hair back into the room and roughly slammed her on the floor. Two blurry men came in and tied her to a chair as she kicked and screamed. When she was finally tied to the chair, the two men left.

She turned to the two people in the room and asked in anger.

Where is Mira? she screamed.

Are you stupid or just playing dumb, Mira isn't here, the pictures I showed you earlier are of a body double, Imogen said. This genius and prodigy is acting stupid today, this is what happens when you let sentiments override rational thinking. Daphne let out a sigh as she felt relieved, Mira was safe.

So why am I here then, Daphne said finally said.

Oh dear, you are so stupid, Imogen responded. You're here because you are a witness and also I hate you.

What are you talking about, Daphne asked confused. I didn't witness anything.

But you did, Imogen replied.

No, I didn't I'm sure I would remember if I did Immy, Daphne responded in a mocking tone. Also, it seems to me like you're the stupid one here in fact you and your boyfriend are idiots, she added.

Imogen slapped her hard across the face and then wiped her hands on her dress like she touched something dirty.

"Ethan, be a dear and explain things to her, I can't deal with her right I'm afraid I might strangle her", Imogen replied walking towards a chair on the other side of the room.

"Daphne darling", Ethan started to say but Imogen gave him a dirty look, and he immediately corrected himself. He started by clearing his throat then he turned to Daphne who laughing uncontrollably.

" The great Ethan Sawyer doesn't even have a backbone, he's someone's lapdog", she said laughing more.

Ethan was about to hit her again when Imogen spoke up. "She's trying to rile you up, stick to the plan", she said.

Ethan turned to Daphne who had finally stopped laughing and decided to start talking.

"You are here because you saw us with Matt Cy and even followed us", Ethan said.

"Why are you so bothered I saw you together unless you were doing something really bad", Daphne responded.

"Ding ding ding", Imogen said from across the room. "And the smartest person award in Steel City goes to Daphne Ross", she continued.

"You both and Matt are idiots, I didn't think you guys committed a crime, yes I was suspicious but decided not to investigate it because I didn't want anything to do with you. But this kidnap proves you all did something really bad" Daphne sneered at them.

"Daphne dear, I know you too well, with Quinn's sudden disappearance you would eventually link seeing us with Matt together and fumble the whole plan. You love Mira to the extent that you would get involved with us for her sake either that or your curiosity won't let you forget what you saw, Ethan replied.

"You're talking about her love for Mira what about her love for Quinn", Imogen said laughing.

"How could I forget, I just didn't want to think about her disgusting your sister rs", Ethan said.

"You are one to talk you cheating gigolo", Daphne snapped. While Imogen just rolled her eyes.

"Enough with the bickering, that's not why we're here", Imogen said getting irritated.

"Matt said to get rid of her or else we would disappear, but I don't want your innocent hands to get dirtied by her black blood", Ethan said giving Daphne a dirty look.

"My blood is red dimwit and you would know this if you didn't sleep through every biology class like you were on drugs", Daphne sneered sarcastically then her face suddenly like she had suddenly understood something.

"Matt suddenly made an appearance in Steel City after two years of absence and coincidentally at the same time Quinn went missing, could it be that he was involved and these two idiots might be his accomplices.?Is that why they've held me captive they're trying to remove every possible witness", Daphne thought to herself, her mind was in turmoil but her face remained blank and emotionless.

".....phne....aphne....Daphne", Imogen screamed which snapped her out of her thoughts.

" I told you, Ethan, I wasn't crazy when I suggested getting her, I can see gears shifting in that little brain of hers, she's figured the whole thing out", Imogen said laughing.

"I don't know what you talking about Imogen", Daphne immediately said.

"Either way Daphne just know you're going away for a long time", Ethan said.

The room fell into silence as everyone was preoccupied with their thoughts, Ethan and Imogen were thinking of a way to get rid of Daphne. Matt suggested killing her but Ethan refused saying that he didn't want to get Daphne's hands dirty but was too chicken to commit or be involved in murder. Imogen agreed with Ethan saying she didn't want to soil her hands because she was scared, which was also false. After all, Imogen didn't mind getting her hands soiled with blood especially if it was that of her sister whom she hated so much but she had no choice but to agree on Ethan because she wanted to paint the image of a supportive partner to Ethan to make him fall for her more and also she didn't like the idea of giving Daphne an easy way out, she wanted to torture Daphne physically and mentally.

Suddenly Imogen was struck with a bright idea, her face immediately lit up and she had a broad smile on her face. She took Ethan's hands and started to drag him out of the room, she gave Daphne one last look before exiting the room and slamming the door with a loud bang.
