UNSC Infinity

"Exiting slipspace in 5...4...3...2...1... The Infinity is clear of slipspace now captain lasky." An yellow A.I says to his captain.

"Tell everyone the operation is clear to go."lasky says.

In the lower decks of the ship, pilots and soldiers are running around to their positions as they are about to start the first battle between the galactic republics navy. Their task is to destroy the defending fleet of the republic around the planet so their transports can make it to the surface safely.

The planet they are trying to take over is Christophsis as the planet has been giving the galactic republic vital resources to aid them in the war against the separatist. And now with them in the war it won't be long until it's resources are used against them.

Their mission was to cut this supply from them, so they would have to bring the fight to them. But a trick would be up their sleeve when they're to defend the planet which is planned to result in the total occupation of the planet if it succeeds.

Their task force was consisted of 6 Paris class frigates, 2 marathon class cruisers, and the Infinity which also carried 10 strident class frigates under it's belly. This was more than enough to take the planet as it was defended by only 15 venators, 6 arquitens, and 5 dreadnaught crusiers.

Although they were outnumbered in the amount of ships in the coming battle, they were certainly not in firepower.

Within all the hangers a person can be seen listening to their comms as the captain has given the order to start the operation.

"The order to launch all craft has been given. Release all ships now and give them hell." A commander says as he salutes to the men leaving the hanger.

With the command to takeoff hundred of fighters left the hangers of the ships to attack the republic defense fleet. The republic retaliated with their own as a huge space battle ensued as the two sides clashed together.

"Captain it seems their bombers and fighters are trying to focus their fire on us." The A.I warns lasky.

"Let them come. Their deaths have already been granted trying to break through our formation." He says a group of y-wings heading their way gets completely obliterated by their lead ships defense cannons shredding them into pieces.

"Their lucky we can't shoot our mac guns at them." Lackey says.

"The round would just go straight through the ship and hit the planet with devastating effects to the surface." He says to himself.

"If I may ask sir, why aren't we using the Mac guns? We're at war with this galaxy and possibilities of devastation to planets is to be expected. Also it would decrease the losses on our side." The A.I questions him.

"Because intelligence wants more information from the republic and if we hit any of their sights containing them we would just be blindly attacking them without any intelligence on their other occupied planets." He says looking over the battle.

"Although we do have spies in the republic, it will take them a while for their plan to get set in motion." He says as their bombers wait for the order to takeoff after the airspace is clear for them.

As he looks as the enemy fighters getting pushed back he decides to go on with his next phase of attack.

"Tell all bombers to liftoff when ready. Their frontal assault has collapsed and our bombers should be able to break in to their ships." Captain lasky says to the A.I.

"Yes captain." The A.I says before relaying the message to them.

On the republic side

On the bridge of the flagship of the republics formation the battle chatter on their comms can be heard as the yells for help covering their flank is heard before the screams of their death is heard before it is cut off by static.

Outcomes like this is happening on all ships on their side as their fighters stand little to no chance against the Terran fleet as hundreds of their guns open fire on their attacking craft.

"Just what type of enemy did the republic make for us to have to go against a enemy like this." The admiral of the flagship says looking at the monster ship in front of him tearing apart his fighters.

"Sir the enemy fighters are pushing ours back." A clone officer says to his admiral.

"It won't be long until they are on top of us." He says with panic in his voice.

"Sir venators 1-4 have lost all their fighters and bombers. If we continue like this it won't be long until the rest of our forces become depleted." Another says.

Chaos is all the admiral could say about his formation as he can see it slowly falling apart with the elimination of his fighters.

"Tell all fighters to abort the mission on the enemy capital ship to help defend our ships from their fighters and bombers. They stand no chance against them in a frontal assault." He says.

"We can't treat them like the separatist. New tactics against them will have to be made." He says trying to think of something but reports of his forces losses keep piling up.

"Bombers incoming!" Someone shouts pointing at their left formation as bombers descend down on the ships to their left.

As their ships take out a few of them, most of them make their target shooting multiple missiles at their bridge, engine, hangers, and any other parts of the ship as they explode violently. The result of these attacks cause half of his formation to either become completely destroyed or become dead in space.

One of the bombers even target them but aims at their engine instead leaving them dead in space as well.

"How is this possible? How are we supposed to fight an enemy with this kind of firepower." Says the admiral with disbelief in his voice.

"Why did the republic declare war on such a faction!" He yells angry that his men are dying without even putting a dent in the enemies force.

"Sir?" One of his officers says to him worried.

"What do we do." He says.

The admiral only clench his fist in anger on what he is about to say.

"Tell all ships to retreat and those that are crippled to abandon ship to the surface. We won't stand a chance against them." He says looking back at the space battle with his hands behind his back.

Following his orders they all start to abandon ship as the admiral just stays there staring out with a calm expression.

"Sir what about you." The same officer says to him.

The admiral only swallows a lump in this throat before speaking.

"I'm going down with my ship." He says after a while.

"W...why sir." The officer says stuttering.

"Because... why should half of my men die defending this planet while I'm still here living with there deaths in my hands." He says turning around tears rolling down his face.

"I have one last task for you before you go off." He says holding a drive containing all the information about the battle between the two.

"Give this to the republic and tell them what happened this day. Don't let our deaths be in vain and show them what we are up against." He says giving it to him.

The officer only takes the drive nodding his head sadly before saluting to him.

"It was an honor sir." The officer says before running of the bridge to get located to another venator.

"It was an honor as well." He says before looking back in space.

Back with the Infinity

"Sir the rest of the remaining fleet are retreating." The A.I says as the ships that could go in hyperspace retreat from the planet.

"Tell them to mop up the rest of the stranglers that was left behind and start perpetrations for the ground assault." Captain lasky says.

"Already ahead of you sir." The A.I says.

As the remaining forms of resistance are cut down and ships still intact are destroyed the fleet of pelicans full of marines and some Spartans are getting prepared for their battle on the ground.

The first navy battle between the Terran republic and the galactic republic has resulted in a total victory for terra and major loss for the republic as word of their invasion will be heard and plans to retake the planet will start.
