Waiting for Tomorrow

Over the next few hours, Jin diligently imparted knowledge to Daniel, filling in the gaps in his understanding with fundamental information about the demon world.

They covered a wide range of topics, including the hierarchy, the names and roles of significant figures, locations of importance, preferred foods, and even the leisure activities that demons enjoyed.

Daniel's education also extended to understanding demon technologies and their version of social media, helping him grasp what was trending and viral in their society.

As Daniel absorbed this newfound knowledge, his corrupted memories gradually solidified, becoming more integrated with his current understanding.

It was a slow process, but with each piece of information, his origins seemed to accept the new reality bit by bit.

Jin was content with Daniel's remarkable ability to absorb the information.

By the end of the day, he had successfully provided Daniel with the foundational knowledge he needed to navigate the world of demons.

Their first day of training had been a productive one, setting the stage for the challenges and transformations that lay ahead.

''Alright, with that, I suppose we can continue tomorrow since it's already nighttime,''

Jin suggested, recognizing the need for rest.

"Butler Jin, what will we be doing tomorrow?"

Daniel asked, his curiosity fueled by his eagerness to begin serving Lady Lily.

"Well, tomorrow will involve more training, but I'll also introduce you to the mansion where Lily resides," Jin explained.

"I see, then I can't wait for tomorrow to come!"

Daniel replied with enthusiasm, his excitement evident.

"I'm glad you feel that way," Jin nodded, pleased with Daniel's positive attitude.

"With nothing else, I'll take my leave. Don't worry about dinner; it's already here. You can also have a shower just outside this place," Jin instructed.

As Jin prepared to depart, he left Daniel with the knowledge that a new day of learning and adapting to his role in the demon world awaited him.

With Jin's departure, Daniel was left alone in his room, his thoughts drifting toward Lady Lily.

A sense of curiosity welled up within him, and he found himself wondering about her appearance.

'I wonder when I can see Lady Lily and how does she look?' he mused to himself.

His anticipation and curiosity lingered as he decided to take a bath outside.

The living quarters he had been provided with turned out to be a simple wooden cabin.

However, there was no hint of dissatisfaction on his face.

Instead, he wore a contented expression as he enjoyed the refreshing shower in a nearby toilet cabin.

Afterwards, he returned to his own cabin and dressed in the plain white clothes that had been provided to him.

Upon entering his cabin, he discovered that a plate of food had been delivered to him.

It consisted of rice, an unknown gravy, a plain glass of water, and a solitary apple.

Daniel ate the meal, even though its taste was unfamiliar and somewhat strange.

He refrained from complaining and continued eating until he had finished the food, drinking it down with a plain glass of water.

Once his meal was complete, he placed the empty plate and glass aside and settled onto the wooden bed.

As he lay there, gazing up at the rustic wooden ceiling, a sense of wonder filled him.

'I think this isn't bad at all,' he thought with a positive outlook.

His optimism carried him forward, and he eagerly looked forward to the opportunities that tomorrow would bring, especially the chance to spin the roulette and further explore this intriguing and enigmatic world.

As Daniel drifted off to sleep, he entered a deep slumber that soon turned into a disturbing and unsettling experience.

It was not a dream, but rather a nightmare that gripped his consciousness.

'What...What is this!'

His panic surged as he found himself surrounded by a nightmarish and distorted landscape.

The scene before him was a horrifying tableau, filled with blood and lifeless bodies strewn about.

His gaze was drawn to a face shrouded in darkness, as though some force was actively preventing him from remembering or recognizing it.

The tormenting nightmare seemed to stretch on endlessly, and Daniel couldn't discern how long it had been recurring.

At some point, he abruptly woke up from the unsettling dream, his voice breaking the silence of the room as he shouted, ''Stop it!''

His heart raced, and his body was drenched in sweat.

''It's already morning...?''

Daniel muttered to himself in disbelief as he tried to collect his thoughts.

He looked around, reassuring himself that he was back in his cabin and the nightmare had ended.

''What was that? It felt too real for it to be a nightmare,'' he pondered, his mind still haunted by the vividness of the experience.

However, he knew he couldn't dwell on it.

''Forget it,'' he told himself firmly.

''Today's an important day, and I can't lose my focus here.''

Determination welled up within him as he gave himself a brisk slap on the cheeks to shake off the lingering unease.

He proceeded to take a shower and then enjoyed the breakfast provided.

Eventually, seated on his bed, Daniel conjured the roulette spin with a palpable sense of anticipation.

His excitement was evident as he contemplated the possibilities of what he might receive this time.

While he harboured hopes of obtaining an ability akin to the Fist of Obliteration, he also recognized that the chances of landing another 1 trillion points were rather slim, given the sheer number of slots on the roulette wheel.

Nevertheless, he was ready to take the chance and give it a spin.

With bated breath, Daniel closed his eyes and began silently chanting, ''Please, Please, Please.''

Each repetition of the mantra mirrored the rising tension within him.

He remained in this state of suspense as the roulette wheel gradually lost momentum, the spinning gradually coming to a halt with a definitive click.

Finally, the wheel pointed to a single slot, and Daniel eagerly awaited the revelation of his fate.
