The Queen's Meddler

"What did you mean by his Master? A consciousness that is inside of his body that isn't his own?" Padme was curious, she didn't want to be left in the dark. Especially since this man in her service was unnaturally informed.

Valad expected this questions and simply looked at her with his classic little blank smile. "You'll see in time. Just trust me. Everything will go as planned." He dismissed her curiosity and fear of being left in the dark.

Though little did she know that he was going to allow her people to starve, though he wasn't going to allow them to die in vain. They weren't going to die, he was going to help them fight back. All he needed was Qui Gon Jin and Obiwan Kenobi. He could even make use of Anakin Skywalker as well.

However there was also other things on his mind. There were other people he could talk to. He could even inform the whereabouts of the Jedi Master who was stuck on a planet controlled by Warlords.

Though he wanted to get his hands on Assajj Ventress instead of the Jedi getting her. Tapping his lips, he would walk over to the seat beside Padme and sit down casually.

"I can always have your ship confiscated." The girl beside him threatened, though it was an empty threat. She wouldn't. She just wanted him to talk and tell her what he knew so that she could use his knowledge to protect her people. That was the typical maneuver.

Shaking his head slightly, he looked over at her with a blank look now. The smile was gone and it seemed like he was looking her over. Sizing her up, undressing her with his eyes.

Her body began to flush over with a tingling sensation. It was a mix of emotions, especially from he way he was looking at her. She was disappointed, embarrassed and stressed, despite being able to hang tightly to her determination, he was making her angry. Yet anything she thought of to sway him initially was turned down.

Attempts to threaten him would be nothing, they were moot in this kind of situation. He had interest in her from what she could tell, but didn't know how far that interest extended. Was it sexual? Romantic? Did he just want to use her to further his own goals? This honor bond she had spoken of was beginning to be far from the truth the more she saw through him.

Why did he make this call in front of her? However she couldn't get a steady thought of why. She couldn't plot against him, thoughts like those seemed to vanish like they were tossed into an incinerator.

Her head began to hurt. Leaning forward she held her temples in her palm and cast her sight to the floor. "Why did you show me that, Valad?" Padme asked in a hushed tone, biting into her lower lip softly.

"To show you who your enemy is. The backer of the previous King, and also the murderer of the Previous King." Valad said with a fully confident tone as he leaned back, relaxing in his chair.

The moment he had said that, she immediately shot her head up and stared at him. The man she had just seen was the person who helped orchestrate that terrible regime of corruption? So what he was doing was to help the people of Naboo? Or was it just to help her?

For some reason she could only think that he was doing this to help himself. The boy seemed like a skeptic, acted only on what he was confident about. Considering he went off and brought Panaka to his side, it was strange.

The Royal Security forces had an entire armory filled of weapons, tanks and artillery as well as illegal contraband because of this very man. Was this him preparing for something? Not only that, but she also noticed that there were changes in the actions of the Advisory board. At first they had advised her of getting rid of him, but now they were supportive?

Her eyes narrowed on the man who sat beside her and let her body language relax. Despite how much she wanted to distrust him, she couldn't bring herself to do so and she couldn't understand why. Whenever she would think of what he could have done to her and the others, the thought simply perished as if she never thought of it.

So without further ado, she let herself sink into the soft padded chair and close her eyes as her mind wandered off elsewhere.

Then suddenly her eyes shot open as she felt a hand caressing her cheek and Valad's figure looming over her. 'What is he doing?' Blinking a few times, she couldn't help but lean forward, a completely different reaction from what he had tried to do so before.

Was he using the force to lure her? Those were her thoughts, and in a sense she wasn't wrong. Yet these thoughts were soon dismissed as she felt his lips pressed against hers.

A surprised expression full of wide eyes and agape mouth appeared as he pulled away, "Why'd you do that?" She almost immediately demanded an answer, wiping her mouth as she tried to stand up, pressing her hand against his shoulder to move him out of the way. Yet she couldn't exert enough force behind the push to even get him out of the way, so she was involuntarily kept in her seat.

"I need to do some meddling in other people's affairs," his hand found its way back onto her cheek. She glared at it, before moving her gaze back to his face. "So I needed a little luck from my Queen." He pushed the hood back and revealed her shortened brown hair.

Valad's confidence and outgoing shell was beginning to expand. He was getting used to the façade, being in this universe allowed him to become a bit more open and dominant. Though if he were to have to fight someone openly, especially in saber fighting, it was unlikely he would survive. Fighting wasn't his strong suit, but puppeteering and manipulating was his forte. Even though he was poorly treated before, he knew he was going to make it big here. Who knows, maybe one day he would be reunited with his beloved from his past life.

While it seemed that the Queen was an absolute figure of the Naboo Society, the Royal Houses or Royal Advisors had a lot of power as well. Considering he had taken 'control' of them, he was able to gain influence of key figures. He was close to reestablishing the notion of a Hereditary Monarchy. Something that would prove to be more popular than the Constitutional Monarchy's call for two four year terms and elections.

He was already thinking of names for a new faction once he began to climb the hierarchy of the Star Wars Universe. He knew of the threats which were ahead and was definitely going to change the world for the better, at least that is his initial goal. Things don't always go as planned.
