Chapter 8: When the Doorman Is Your Main Man

A couple of days later

"And done." Jacob flips off of the bottom of the train tracks on onto the platform which is lit up in compared to the first time he came. He found where the ladder had back up to the sewers. He apparently missed the signs for it looking back at it, but he also thought about the fact could go through another station when he had the chance. He then used all of his time training, honing his senses, his strength which he found out to pick up the end of the train car, he tried to get under it but not wanting to strain his body to hard for the moment. Made him rethink his choice. He also moved a lot the tech that he scavenged back to his apartment after realizing that it would take hundreds of thousands of dollars to renovate that he didn't have so he decided to upgrade his current setup and abandon this place unless it was for training.

He hid all of the stuff in a hidden space in his closet, while his mother wasn't home which she only spent 8 hours at day home sleep. He wanted to buy the best desktop out there that he was willing to buy which costed him 1000 dollar. Plus another 800 for a new phone and laptop. He decided to upgrade his phone as some initial data crunching on how big the apk software his was going to have to download off of it, and another 200 updating his worth robe after seeing most of his clothes were way to small, and the clothes that were left weren't enough to survive on. Jacob wiped the sweat off of his face, before showering in his make shift shower system in belly burger so he could get to his first date in his new world at least smelling decent.

He quickly made it up to the surface of Gotham almost getting hit by a truck again, before making his way through the streets in the daylight in the blue version of his homemade suit. He also made some alterations to the suit make it more of his style adding the total amount of suits he had to 4.

As he swung through the streets of Gotham, he thought about Project A.D.A.M as it he noticed that it hadn't gave him any message that it was even working. He looked down at the people as they watched him maneuver through the air in amazement, At first it was awkward, almost like he was the only kid in the class presenting a project for the day but over the times he had done it, the feeling became old, though he wished the news would stop comparing him to Batman.

"I am not Batman. In any sen-" His spider senses tingle, Jacob looked around but didn't see anything until it happened again. He noticed that it was coming from down the block. Jacob looked and sure enough he heard sirens. Goons were masquerading throughout the streets of Gotham. Money flying in their trail, as they recklessly went on the curb and sliding next to the bystanders. He quickly webbed one of their cars as it blitzed past him before he had a chance to make up his mind. His first instinct was to text Cindy but he wouldn't have time

"I am totally getting a epic stuffed pizza from plz-" Jacob's arm was snatched being pulled to the car that was attempting to bulldoze through people and get away from traffic and the cars standing in the way. Jacob shot a web at the other end of the car before launching himself toward the crim's car but before he could land on the car he slipped, causing him to run trying to stop himself for dragging himself on the floor. He looked behind him and saw the cops confused. Jacob waved the officers before grabbing on to the car's trunk and ripping it off, and sitting.

"What. Are you doing weirdo" the police called out from it's speaker.

"trying to stop the bad guy. You?" Jacob webbed the cars together making sure not to obscure the view of the police cruiser before getting up and busting the back left window.

"It's a full house guys. Can I come in, why do you make some room, so we can get down to business" Jacob then winked before webbing one of the masked robbers' face and then shooting a web to the lightpole, and attaching it him. The criminal immediately flew out the back window, before anything of them had the chance to react. He then kick the door, opening it while pushing the other criminal out before webbing him up while attaching it to the same streetlight. This left the other criminals in the front to look behind, seeing him wave. They immediately dawn a face of Confusion.

"What did you do with Marcus?" Burglar 1 asked pumping up his rifle. Jacob webbed the guys face making him shoot the roof of the car while the driver swerved.

"Who the fuck are you?" Burglar 2 shouted. Jacob got up from the seat and whispered.

"Booba yaga- Fuck I meant booba"

"BABA YAGA" Jacob joked before feeling the deceleration coming from the police cruiser. He then knocked out Burglar 1 out with a flick to the head while jumping out of the front, Webbing out the front tired while landing in front of the car so he could try to stop it with his feet. With the he Police Cruiser slowing the get a way vehicle to a screeching halt. Burglar 2 jumped out, determined to find a way out of this. Jacob webbed his legs before he made it three steps out of the way. He then stood up, before check his clothes which was a little dusty, shaking them off. He saw the cops get out quickly pulling out their weapons. Jacob thought he was in trouble so he put his hands up immediately but they just laughed before moving towards to apprehend the robbers.

"Hey guy, what is this? Don't tell this is snot, or worse se-"

"It's organic.. it Dissolves in a hour" Jacob interrupted while seeing the police officer take out his pocket knife to attempt to cut his organic webs without touching it.

"Who are you. You with the Batman kid?" The officer became cautious as Jacob looked at his phone. He was running a short on time but first introductions are the most important.

"No, I don't but I love my Officers in blue and would do anything to help them, and more importantly the people of Gotham" Jacob waved, he went to walk away but before he could, he heard.

"What would we call ya kid?" The Officer called.

"I'm Scarlet Spider, Sir." Jacob then shot a web to the building launching himself up before swinging his body fluidly shoot off at his apex while using his arm to shoot the next building.

'Not Spider-Man?' Jacob then shook his head before he put on his usual music playlist. As he swung through the city he thought about his decision to be the Scarlet Spider, until he suddenly heard a ringtone, someone was calling him call. He swung high, letting his body fall through the sky while digging his phone out of his pocket. He answered it as he reached one of Gotham's Sky Scrapers. He took his mask off, as the heard.

"Jacob! Good you called. Are you okay?" Rio called out. Jacob looked around and at himself again before saying.

"Yeah, I'm about to go and meet Cin- A friend. The friend I told you I was studying for the test for when school opens up. " Jacob shouted as the wind make it hard for him to talk.

"I know, that's why I am calling. Be careful a Bank in Midtown just got robbed, and they were reckless going on the curb almost hitting people until a hero helped. The news called him Scarlet Spider-Man." Rio whispered.

"Okay will do!!" Jacob replied. They talk back and forth for awhile before he realized that he had three minutes to get ready for his date- study group. His mom hanged up and he took his book bag. Opening it up and taking the spider part of his hoodie,and his mask off before putting on his street clothes. He had a pullover Sea foam Green hoodie and Black Joggers with Black Air Forces that he had bought. He had to admit that Miles had some sneaker head knowledge. He aim his wrist before he heard a thwip.

Shooting himself on the closet high rise roof and then jumped making it to the next building over. He then went the alleyway side of the building, He jumped making sure he didn't fall too far but landing on the 20th story. Jacob make sure he looked nice before looking into the window of Cindy Moon. She was currently sitting on her bed moving impatiently, looking like she was anxious for something.

She got up to turning to look at her mirror before Jacob knocked on the glass softly announcing his presence. She turned around, and her eyes lit up in happiness, Matching her grin that ear to ear as she hurried to open her window. She opened it safeguarding the entrance way, getting close enough to hug as she looked down the fire escape and looked back.

"You do know you could've called. Or rang the door, or talk to Oscar he knows my family pretty well after last Christmas. You should've been there" Cindy giggled before smiling, backing up slightly to not be directly in front of him.

"I know he just looked scary" Jacob smiled, stealing his second favorite Spider-man's line. She then backed up even more feeling the Winter's breeze brush against her face which he didn't mind.

"Can I come in?" Jacob asked as he looked around her room. She had book shelved that wrapped the furthest corner of her room, where her laptop also was. He bed was way bigger than his even though he had a half a foot on her, and her dresser was slightly messy.

"Yeah. You can come in? I wouldn't see why not" Cindy smiled as she presented her room giving a presenter's bow. Jacob took out his shoes, tying them tight to his back pack before steeping on her carpet.

"Ah yes. Thank you my mom would kill me if you or I tracked anything in" Cindy blurted out, she paced to her bed before sitting down, and looking at him.

"So what do you want to eat? My parents are gone on this stupid Palmer Tech trip near Seattle, but they decide to leave me her saying it wouldn't be appropriate. Like warm weather isn't appropriate." Cindy pouted. Jacob chuckled as he sat down on the window ledge, He saw her bundling herself up so he closed.

"Yeah, I know. I used to ask my dad to take me on his trips down to Central while he trained the other troops but he told me to protect the house. It was an interesting trial while he was gone. We were always close. My mom works at-"

"Gotham Med. I know, My Dad had a crush on your mom before she left university to become a nurse. I don't know if they kept up but he is happy that her son is doing well. He wishes his condolences for Officer Davis.

"It's okay, I suppose if you are going to a super power convo without being dressed up as a bat. The chances of you living, is nigh" Jacob smiled. His joke went over her heard as she nodded, so he thought of food.

"Do you want to eat… Thai, I know the best of Thai restaurant in Gotham. " Jacob changed the subject. Cindy's eyes lit when he mentioned food.

"Order me a Pad Thai, do you want to pick it up with me, It' not f-" Jacob heard the door open, and his face switch from sadness to concern to fear all in once.

"I think your front door just opened?" Jacob cautioned before hearing.

"We're home!!" A man with a slightly high voice announced. Cindy had the look of fear, before she ran to her room's door at the same time the person tried to open it. She tried to stop him from swinging it open but it was not use as the door was already left ajar.

"Hi, Dad." Cindy shuddered in what her Dad would do, but he quickly looked to his left before getting in and closing the door behind him. Jacob was slightly alarmed, so he go out to prepare himself.
