Late to school and....HAWKEYE??

Peter's pov

*ring ring*

I groaned and rolled over to turn off my alarm clock. Completely forgetting I had programmed it to roll off my bedside and move around the room creating a slight mess and a whole lot of sound. I reached over the side of my bed to try and hit it off until "Peter! Get ready or you'll be late!" That was enough to startle me enough to fall off the side of my bed. I groaned, reaching up to my chair to help me get up, although I failed to see I had spilled a bit of water. I instantly slipped and hit my head as my spidey sense started ringing "So much for a spidey sense, pete?" I looked over to see May smiling at my door. I groaned and instead covered my face with my hands giving a small nod.

I hear her laugh softly and uncover my face smiling back at her until I see her face turn into one of concern. I pause waiting for her to say something , silence, my breath fastens a bit as I stare nervously. She quietly walks over to me and sits on my bed patting the area next to me. I get up ,without falling, and sit next to her. She turns to face me and gently grabs my hands . I instantly know something is wrong. She pauses before saying " Pete i have to go away for a bit-" i instantly cut her off "What? Is everything okay?" She smiles softly and responds "Everythings fine, I just have to go on a business trip to another hospital." I pause for a second taking in the information "when will you be back? Where are you going? Is everyone alright?" I ask.

She smiles softly and responds "I'm not sure when I'll be back. I'm going to a hospital in Wisconsin. Everything is fine, it's just a bit of community work, plus they're paying a lot."

I bit my lip a bit sad but understanding, I nodded and she kissed my forehead before getting up and saying "I have to leave today so be safe." "You're leaving today?" i respond, she gives a nod before walking to the door and saying "get ready or you're going to be late." I sigh taking in the new information before my alarm clock comes running around the corner. I smile softly.

Getting up and stretching I heard a small pop, I walked to my closet seeing my spider-man suit which really just looked like pajamas but that's all I can afford right now. I remembered the night before and instantly lifted my shirt to see a HUGE, and I mean huge bruise there were also a few "tiny" cuts. I groaned for what seemed to be the millionth time. Before deciding to instead look for an outfit to wear. I decided on a simple one, black pants with a white shirt with a mini iron-man drawing. I quickly put on my shoes, grabbed my bag and quickly walked out my room. Just as my alarm clock came around the corner I quickly grabbed it. And slightly turned it off while walking to the kitchen. I see May cooking as she quickly puts a plate on the counter with some lunch money. I thanked her and sat down until I saw the time. I quickly put a waffle in my mouth, grabbed my bag and the lunch money. Before rushing to give May a quick hug then bolting out the door saying "Thanks May, see you soon be careful, larb you!" as i ran out i heard her respond "have fun, be careful and i larb you too!"

While running out I decided to text Ned seeing as he got a new phone, yes i know it's irresponsible but nothing bad can happen right?  And… i ended up running into a pole, i fell backwards instantly reaching up to my head rubbing it slightly. Oof that's gonna leave a bruise for sure. I sat up so i'm on my knees still holding my head.

"You okay kid?" I paused looking up to see… THE HAWKEYE. HOLY SHIT.

I instantly respond "I- uhm yes im fine Sir."

He smiles a bit and extends his hand. I pause before quickly reaching out, as he helps me up. I look at the time. I stare in shock. I'm 10 minutes late and I'm 10 minutes away from school. I quickly looked at Mr.Hawkeye and said "Thank you for helping me up, but I really have to go thank you!" I quickly grabbed my backpack and ran off towards my school.

Back with Hawkeye

I walked out of the coffee shop and saw some kid run straight into a pole. I held back a slight snicker until I saw him reach for his head, slightly rubbing it. I calmly walked over so I was behind him and asked "You okay kid?"

I saw him look up and I swear there were stars in his eyes, he replied after a bit I- uhm yes im fine Sir." I smiled a bit and extended his hand. He seemed to  pause before quickly reaching out, so I quickly helped him up. As he checks his phone he stares in shock.I Before randomly looking up and saying "Thank you for helping me up, but I really have to go thank you!" I watch as he runs off. He seems like a sweet kid I think before I hear the barista call my fake name. I rush in and get all the coffee.
