Chapter 2: Osaka Training Centre

It was 9:30 p.m. and Ryoma woke up from his bed. He is a handsome looking black haired young boy with hazel-coloured eyeballs. He had 6 months to graduate from high school. Ryoma took a look at the time and straight headed to bathroom. Before taking a bath, he called out to his mother, "Prepare the food, mom. I have to go to the training centre quickly."

Sana replied, "Yeah done, quickly take bath." And she started cooking omelette and put the bread into the toaster.

Ryoma quickly had his breakfast and got ready. "I am going now, take care." And he ran towards the centre. Her mother started praying for his safety.

After couple of 20 minutes, he reached and was completely dazzled by the awe and beauty of the centre. It was complete white building and there were four pillars on each corner which emerged from the midpoint on the top of the centre roof. Everyone could see clean blue windows reflecting sunlight. Beautiful petals of different variety of flowers were put beside the boundary of the building in unique art styled ceramic pots.

He went inside and asked the receptionist, "This is Ryoma Tachibana. I had to take the test today."

"Yeah surely, please come this way." Replied in a gentle voice. While following and walking behind her, he could see couple of people waiting for their test results and some were discussing about their ranks and weapons.

The first test is Strength test to measure the rank of your strength. In this you have to punch as hard to the punching bag which contains a meter to measure your strength in numerical values.

[0-25 – F rank]

[25-50 – E rank]

[50-110 – D rank]

[110-170 – C rank]

[170-220 – B rank]

[220-280 – A rank]

[ above 280 – S rank]

Ryoma tried his best only to receive 112 value which was C rank.

The next he had to give the Stamina test. Running laps around the 100-metre circle could prove the stamina.

[10-25 – D rank]

[25-40 – C rank]

[40-60 – B rank]

[60-80 – A rank]

[ above 80 – S rank]

Ryoma secured B rank in stamina. And then he took the Mana test. The mana orb contains the mana crystals which shine when reacting with a person's Mana energy. The orb is actually made and produced by the trusted alchemists. Mana Test is concluded by the intensity % of mana crystals or mana orb.

[0-20% – F rank]

[20-40%– E rank]

[40-60% – D rank]

[60-75% – C rank]

[75-85% – B rank]

[85-90%– A rank]

[ above 90 – S rank]

Above 100% intensity means the cracking or breaking of mana orb. Though there were rare cases about that in the past, no one heard about it recently. Anyways, Tachibana Ryoma had a lack of mana energy and so he could achieve D rank. The three basic tests were over.

Now the actual test to mark a rank for the hunters will start for Ryoma.

This test had two parts-

1st part: players had to wear a VR head gear. They will be stationed in a forest where they had to defeat and kill the monsters. The monsters are not too strong for players to score.

2nd part: The players had to defeat the robots controlled by AI.

The rank is then decided by the average of both the parts. Before the test, you are expected to choose a weapon suitable for you.

When Ryoma was taken to weapon's inventory, one word came out of my mouth, "Wow!" after viewing the weapons. These were skilfully and uniquely carved plus durable. He guessed that the centre must have put much money behind this.

Nevertheless, Ryoma chose katana as this was the only weapon, he was capable of while duelling. He had to wear VR headset for starting the test part 1. When Ryoma signalled them (the programme and invigilator team) ready, they started their programme.

I was in a forest all of a sudden. Inspecting the surroundings and the programme, one thing I could say that the graphics where freakily cool and real as if they had actually transported me to an actual forest. From out of nowhere, I could sense the sound of the monster craving to defeat me. And this also indicated me to start the carnage.

I turned around and saw 2 goblins who were small, holding stone dagger. They started running fast towards me. I was ready and took my stance. As they came closer, I took the lead and dashed against them.
