Folding fools & legendaries?

"Very impressive. I'm astonished at how long you lasted, with such a weak physical defence." Rex said while clapping. Sabrina frowned at his attitude.

"That is due to our bond. We have been together since birth, simple tricks like those won't work on us, you shouldn't be so cocky so soon." She said rather bluntly. But Rex only laughed and shook his head.

"It's not cockiness, it's confidence. Here, I'll show you. Marshadow use shadow domain." He said calmly and with a smile. Sabrina still had the same frown on her face. She was both triggered by his attitude and by the move he had just announced. It was yet another move she had never heard of.

But before she could think much more, a massive curtain of shadows descended from the roof and covered the entire battlefield. Shrouding it in complete darkness. Sabrina knew this because one, she couldn't see in, and two, Alakazam couldn't see at all.

"This is my source of confidence. What will you do when one of your most important senses is gone? Marshadow, use Shadow Barrage!" it was a new move inspired by close combat. He had been training with Machamp when Marshadow decided to join in. the crazy thing was, he didn't come up with it. Marshadow did. The little fellow was a monster when it came to learning new moves and creating them.

Marshadow flashed and appeared behind the unmoving Alakazam who didn't sense the assassin behind him. Marshadow didn't hold back and quickly spun like a top before kicking Alakazam in the head, spending him flying sideways, streaking through the air. Yet that was far from the end, Marshadow reappeared and kicked downwards, sending his opponent headfirst into the ground. Then he descended like a cannonball and dug his foot into Alakazam's face, creating massive fissures on the ground.

The curtains made of shadow disappeared like a waterfall out of water. And Sabrina's face could be seen visibly pale and shaking with tears in her eyes. Marshadow's green hair that looked like he went super Saiyan turned back into a black smoky colour. He stared at Alakazam's fainted figure without pity and sank into the floor before reappearing in Rex's shadow.

"The victor is Rex the challenger!" the woman yelled before rushing to Sabrina's side.

"Why did you have to go so far?" Asked Sabrina with anger as she held the unconscious Alakazam.

"Did I? All I remember was winning the battle, how I won doesn't matter as long as it wasn't against the rules. You can only blame your Alakazam for wasting my time and forcing me to use that sequence of moves." He said with a shrug. He wasn't being mean on purpose. Just truthful. Sometimes the truth hurts. Point proven by Sabrina's anger as she stared at him.

"he'll be fine. Jeez, it's not like I killed him right? The injuries are not that severe. He's only mildly concussed, that's all. A little rest and he'll be back up and running by tomorrow." He said dismissively. Sabrina was stunned and then looked down at Alakazam's injuries and confirmed that it wasn't as bad as she had thought. She soon relaxed her previously stiff expression and took out her badge case that had 8 of the same badges. She picked one out and threw it towards Rex via telekinesis.

Rex grabbed it casually and walked out while waving his hand. "have a good day. Tune it for the league this year, it will be very entertaining, to say the least." He left those parting words before disappearing into the crowd of people.

Sabrina looked at the door Rex had just walked out of with a deep gaze.

"What are you looking at? Do you like him or something?" asked her mother with a cheeky smile. Sabrina was stunned before shaking her head.

"N-No, that's not it. I just realised he trained in aura. Either he has another Pokémon that can use aura as well, or he was still holding back when we were fighting. He could have ended it within the first 10 seconds if he so wished. It seems I was the one who was overconfident." She analysed.

If Rex was there he would have laughed. Marshadow was indeed learning Aura, but he was still a bit away from being able to materialise it. With Machamp having finished his aura training for the most part, Marshadow would be able to get good advice, and in turn, speed up his training. So, even though she was wrong about that, if Marshadow had indeed learnt Aura, the battle would have gone as she predicted.

Rex had his hands behind his head as he walked down the street. He would be leaving this afternoon for Celadon city for his 6th gym badge. After that, he would need to head back the Vermillion to pick up the metals he ordered and begin the evolution process for Scyther and Onix. He was still a bit away from finishing up all the details regarding his little project with Onix but it wouldn't be much longer.

This was all going to come in handy for Koga who Blaine had warned him about. He was excited to see what he would experience at that gym. He also had something he needed to ask Koga for. Victreebell needed to improve his poison moves and Koga would be the one for the job.

He noticed that the sun was high in the sky with meant it was about mid-day. So he went for some early lunch before riding his bike off towards his next destination.

At the top of a mountain on seafoam island, two terrifying birds were duking it out in the skies. Streaks of yellow and blue flashed as they lit up the clouds like fireworks. And a woman in black tight clothing stood at the top with a Pokeball in her hand as she stared at the two in shock and excitement.
