Slaying 101....

☆"Alex's P.O.V "☆

She was amazing! Handling a demon like that with such skill. She sent that demon back to Hell with such ease and did it Latin too. Just then, I noticed she was covering her nose and blood was trickling down her chin.

"Hey Sophie, are you alright?" I asked, a bit concerned since now she was a paler color than before, "Here let me see."

"I'm fine, really." She says as though nothing is wrong when it is clear she has a broken nose and blood keeps gushing out, "I just need.... I just... I....jus-'' all of a sudden she started to collapse, then a bright light flashed and an angel appeared (no doubt it was her guardian) and was holding her bridal style.

I didn't have time to ask anything. Before I knew it I was in what looked like an old abandoned mansion and by looking around the whole gang was here. Even Abby and Danny were here too.

"Alex, dude, good to see you man." I turned around and saw Jacob standing there with Mia and Izzy by his side.

"Where the heck are we?" Asked Izzy.

"More importantly, where has your fearless leader gone?" Chimed in Abby as she and Danny walked on over to the rest of the group.

"Guys, meet Abby and Danny… they're from the South campus." I explained.

"Well that explains everything... Oh wait, no it doesn't." We all turned around to see that the sarcastic comment came from none other than Sophie, "Like it doesn't explain who gave these toddlers permission to go on a damn hunting trip. I mean if they can't tell when a damn demon is right in front of their freakin nose, then what good are they in the damn field?"

Abby's face got bright red, "Well if it wasn't for this 'toddler' here, you would have been gator chow and scattered all across the bayou by now."

Sophie let out a soft chuckle and responded, "You have no clue who I am... Do you?"

There was a small awkward silence followed by Sophie taking out her dagger and throwing it into the floor at Abby's feet.

                       "Pick it up." She ordered.

Abby did so with caution and looked at it then looked at Sophie with wide eyes. (What I wouldn't do to read mind's right now)

"You're the legendary Black Rose?!?" She said with the enthusiasm of a big time fan.

(To me it sounded more like she met her idol and she was in shock.)

☆"Sophie's P.O.V"☆

This kid thinks she's so high and mighty just because she shot a couple of gators. Pssh... Big deal. I mean I could have taken those gators on by myself and I was planning to before she shot them.

"Listen kid, thanks for the help but I could ha...."

"Oh no problem ma'am and if ya need a scout, me and my partner..." She started rambling on about how she could help, but I stopped her before she could say more.

"Look Abby is it?" She nods, "Against my better judgment, I'll let you join this little group we have going." I look around and jump up on a nearby table to gain ground, "Apparently you guys aren't paying much attention in your classes, so I'm going to teach you guys what every Slayer needs to know out in the field. Abby, hand me my dagger."

Abby eagerly handed over my dagger. I close my eyes and scan the room for any unwanted visitor. After a moment I opened my eyes quickly, turned around and threw my dagger at an old painting which now had a pinned gremlin to it. The little imp struggled and screamed then burst into flames leaving behind a scorch mark.

I turned back to face my team and said, "Ladies and gentlemen... Welcome to Slaying 101."

[Ophelia did a good job in finding a hideout, I'll give her that.] I thought to myself, [Sure this place is crawling with a few gremlins here and there. Not to mention a few unwanted ghosts still hanging around, but this will be a great training ground for the newbies.]

"Ok so, let's see how much you guys already know." I said rubbing my hand in a let's-get-this-over-with sorta way. They all just gawked at me and I didn't know why but it irritated me.

Ophelia tapped me on the shoulder and said softly "Ummm… Sophie, your nose is bleeding again."

My eyes widened and my hands shot up to cover my nose.

"I'll be right back." I said through my hands and ran up the nearest flight of stairs to the first room I saw, slammed the door behind me and locked it.

I pull back my hands and see they are covered in blood and my stomach starts to churn. Of all the times for me to bleed it had to be in front of the team. I can't let them see me like this. I quickly take off the glove on my right hand to reveal the rose mark on the back of my hand. I rest my fingers lightly upon my nose and think happy thoughts, like my broken nose being healed and the blood going back to where it belongs.

I imagine my nose being back to normal and within seconds I feel that my nose is back in place. I quickly get up and look for a mirror. I open the door and sneak out of the room as quietly as possible and find a bathroom down the hall. I rush to it and look in the mirror to see that my nose is back to normal. This is my power…. The healing touch. I've managed to keep it a secret for a long time and I plan for it to stay a secret.

I want my team to be careful out on the field and to not think that every time they get an injury, that they can come whining to me and I'll just magically heal them. Hey, now I know what you're thinking, but the bigger the wound the more energy it takes out of me to heal it. They gotta be tough and strong. Besides, Ophelia can heal too, so they have nothing to worry about and my little secret can stay my little secret.

I give my nose a once over to make sure I'm not still bleeding, then head out of the bathroom and make my way down the stairs to the group.

I got to the bottom of the steps and waiting for me there was little Abby with a very worried look on her face.

She opens her mouth to say something but I raise my hand and say, "I'm fine, don't worry about me. If anything, worry about how you can improve your aim with that gun." I point to her rifle on her back.

"I can shoot just fine, thank you." She was lying.

I could tell by the fluctuation in her aura that she was keeping something back, but the question was what?  She said she was the one who shot the gators and for some reason I don't doubt that. Yet for some reason her aura fluctuated when I suggested she needed practice. This didn't make sense but I figured she'd come clean about it sooner or later, so I pushed it to the back of my mind for now. I turned my attention to the rest of the room, and noticed that someone was missing.

I scanned the room to check who was here. Mia… here, Jacob… here, Danny… here, Abby… here, Alex… definitely here, Izzy….. I smack my forehead.

                       "Has anyone seen Izzy?"

"I think she said something about needing some fresh air." Mia said as she was sharpening a kunai.

I let out an annoyed sigh, "I guess I'll go find her then." Before I left I turned around and said, "Oh!And when I get back, be ready to go cause we are going bar hopping."
