Mr.Soul Leech.....

These newbies couldn't tell a demon from an old man if their lives depended on it, which it actually does. So not only do I find out there are more, fresh off the press slayers here but they are also oblivious when it comes to sensing a demon's presence. Just my luck for them to be fooled by a soul leech…. I had to set things right and fast.

I had my gun pointed to the old man's head and said bluntly, "Get out of him you slimy piece of…"

"Sophie! What the heck?! It's just an old man."

I sigh, grab the now frightened old man, drag him to a nearby tree and pin him to it, by his shirt with my silver dagger.

I then walked over to Alex and say, "For starters newbie that ain't an just an old man, that's an old man that has a soul leech on him and if you're any bit of a slayer you say you are you would have sensed the dark aura coming off of him."

He stood there still as a statue then said, "My apologies ma'am, I'll do better next time."

"Don't call me ma'am. It's either Sophie or Rose." He smiled at me showing me a row of perfect white teeth…. No! I need to focus, damn it!

I turn away quickly and rush back to the old man, taking the dagger from the tree and pressing it against his throat.

"Ok, Mr. Soul Leech, let the old man go or I will go all exorcist on your sorry demon butt and send you back to your maker."

The man's eyes went pitch black and he said in a hollow voice, "Don't send me back I..I have valuable information for the Black Rose. Yes, yes, very valuable."

Figures… he's a snitch. Might as well see what he has to say then I'll exorcise him.

"O.K., better not waste my time cause if ya are…" I pressed the blade flat against his face and his skin started to sizzle like he was being burned.

He screamed out, "Alright! Alright! Just get that fuckin' blade off me!!"

I took the blade off and the skin was seared red where the blade had been. I glanced over my shoulder and I can tell that this guy wasn't the only one I left a lasting impression on.

Back to the Soul Leech now, I waved my dagger tauntingly in front of his face and said simply, "Start talking."

"There's been a rumor going around about a new demon, one that's killing other demons and taking their powers."

This got my attention. A power hungry demon is never good and what's worse is that they're very unpredictable. If left unattended this demon could grow so powerful that even I....No! I shake the thought from my head. I will not let it come to that..... Ever!

"So tell me, where exactly did you hear this rumor from?" I asked as I twirled the dagger skillfully in my hand.

"I-I heard some demons talking about it in a Host bar down the road from here." His eyes widen because he knows what he just did.

He had just ratted his own kind out to not just any slayer but the Black Rose and that bar full of possessed people....they are going to be freed from a demon's grip, which is not what they want. So, I'm thinking why did he go through all this and sacrifice his own to send me this message. In my moment of weakness, the damn Soul Leech caught me off guard and landed a blow to the gut and a swift knee to the face. My reflexes are faster than his older host body and face it... it's going to take more than that to throw me off.

I quickly took out a small glass vial of holy water I kept in my boot just in case, and threw it at the suckers feet, and recited the usual line but fitting it to the part, "Ego daemonium eiceret rosa quo sanguine Christi ad inferos anima viri istius et libero. Amen."

(Translate:By the blood of Christ and the rose I banish this demon back to hell, and free this man's soul. Amen.)

The man dropped to the ground and was acting like he was having a seizure. He began to slowly stop shaking and the black in his eyes went away. The old man was asleep now and safe thanks to me mainly.
