A tiring day

With that astonishing discovery everyone in the conference room left, except me, Alex, CEO of the ATec and his chief designer, plus Penny.

Alex had asked Paul to come in as this was a complicated situation. While waiting for the officers we discussed training camps for the ATec team. We agreed to a three-day workshop to be held in two weeks.

"Sorry for asking you to come so suddenly, Paul," I said inviting him and his colleague.

"This is all part of our work," he said acknowledging the others around.

Alex explained everything with the evidence we had and Paul questioned Penny about what happened to her a few years ago.

"Ben, with all this information, Penny's life will be in danger. Because Ms.Wang and her gang could end up looking for her," said Paul.

"Hmm, yes. Do you have any suggestions, Paul? "

"I can let her stay in the safe house till we get all this sorted out,"

"Sir, I know what my cousin has done is wrong, but I don't want her to be met with danger," said the ATec designer.

"Yes, I know. Penny, will you be able to testify against them?" asked Paul.

"Me... I... hmmm..." said Penny worried looking around.

"Don't worry we'll vouch for your safety,"

"If you can promise the safety of my parents I will agree,"

"Ok we will," said Paul.

"And Penny you will be given a year's worth of salary. And I will recommend you to an office in another part of the country," said Alex, who felt sorry for the girl.

"Thank you, sir," she said and went out with the officers.

"I am sorry about what happened," I said.

"We did have some leads of her mishandling, but we were waiting to catch her with evidence," said Alex.

"It's ok, sir. And now that everything is resolved. The only thing we have to do is keep this information within us," said the ATec CEO.

"Yes, I cannot imagine how will Ms.Wang react," said Alex with a smile.

"Thank you, Mr.Ben and Mr.Alex, for not being too harsh on her. Penny has never told us any of this, till now," said the designer.

"Let it pass now, my only hope is she will choose the right path from now on," I said.

"We'll be in touch to prepare for the three-day event," said Alex getting ready to leave.

I checked my phone to see a miss call from Sarah.

"Hi,"

"How was the meeting with ATec?"

"IT went well. I am impressed with the CEO,"

"Hmm,"

"We will be arranging a three-day training camp,"

"Wow, that's great. So are you going to motivate them?"

"Yes, but you have to promise me something,"

"Hmm,"

"Will you accompany me,"

"Ok, I will,"

After the call, I went looking for Alex. He was going through the itinerary for his trip with Meg. I am glad he agreed to take his security team on the trip. After talking for a while I headed back home.

As I entered the home,

"Hmm... smells so good, what are you making mother?" I asked nodding off to my father who was petting Little Bud's pet.

Sarah was busy icing a cake for dessert. She didn't seem to notice my presence and I winked at my mother to be quiet. I went and hugged her from behind.

"BEN!!!!" she said squeezing the icing bag on my suit.

"Nice welcome," I said with a kiss on her cheek and placing a bit of icing on the tip of her nose.

"Shooo.... go have a bath,"

I went and had a bath and came back. While mother and Sarah made dinner, I had a chat with my father. I told him all the things that happened today while lying on the sofa.

"Ben, it's good that you are helping the young blood, but be careful,"

"Yes Father, Can you help us with a little motivation session?"

"Ok, I will be happy to help. What about Sarah?"

"She's going too, I will be careful about her identity,"

After a chat, my father and I watched some shows.

"James, dinner's ready,"

James winked and showed her that Ben had fallen asleep.

"Dear he' has fallen asleep on the sofa,"

"Oh, ok mother. Why don't you two have dinner first," said Sarah.

"Hmm... ok sweety," She knew that Sarah will not eat without Ben. So there is no use pressuring her to have dinner with them.

Sarah bought a blanket and covered Ben, who was already slightly snoring. As she was about to leave, he held her hand tight and pulled her towards him.

"Ben," Sarah said softly.

"hmm..."

"Come let's have dinner"

"Just stay for a while. You are so comfy my cuddle cushion,"

I stayed with her for a few minutes before going to have dinner. After dinner, I went to the outdoor porch with her and enjoyed the cool breeze. Sarah had already made a little plan for the upcoming ATec training session.

She is really a treasure, even though she's quiet around others she always talks with me and shares her ideas. I really wanted to tell her about the incident with Penny, but then I thought of not telling her. As she might worry about these which is not good for her condition.

Hmm... so three days with her...
