Chapter 5 Time

4:54 P.M. The next day.

"I wonder if that girl will come again." says shade while setting up the dishes.

"Sigh.. there's not that many customers today either."

Shade hears the servers chattering and arguing about something.

One server says...

"Bro I am telling you, the sun circles around the earth."

"No idiot the earth circles around the sun and the moon circles around earth. The earth is always rotating and that's the reason why gravity exists."

"If the earth does rotate then explain why we don't fall off, if it does rotate then we should fall off the sky right?"

"That's cause there's a thing called gravity, that's the most basic thing you learn in school."

"Man, that's what these idiots are arguing about? Like how bored can you be."

"Shade, come here and tell this idiot that the earth orbits around the sun, not the other way around."

Shade laughs awkwardly and says...

"ahaha~ i am not that good at things like these, you guys can settle this on your own..."

"I am not becoming part of your silly arguments." Says shade in his mind.

After that the day passes just like that...

The next morning...

"Oh its Sunday, perfect! And i even had a great sleep last night. I can spend the whole day playing games then."

"Shade!"

"Yes mom?"

"I am going outside with your little brother. Take care of the home."

"Alright, stay safe!"

Shade closes the door.

"Now even moms gone, That means... the am all alone in the house!!"

Shade laughs menacingly...

"Nahh, I won't do stuff like that~. Time to play games then!"

A few hours pass by.

"I've been playing games for now. Moms still not back home yet. I wonder why."

The phone in the living room starts ringing...

Shade rushes to pick up the phone...and then...

Shade drops the phone...

He falls on the ground... starts grabbing his neck...not to choke himself but.. to prevent himself from running out of breath and dying... He was in a state of shock... his face gets covered in despair... every life choice he made upto this point seemed meaningless... he starts sobbing intensely...

The news. left him. empty inside.

For the first time in life. Shade felt this much sadness.

The next day at the funeral...

"life is cruel isn't it? huh son? So much for that re marriage. I couldn't even (tears start falling off) say goodbye to her." Says Shades dad.

"I am sorry dad, I couldn't... I couldn't do anything. I AM SORRY DAD!"

"Come on son, you and I both know that none of us could do anything to prevent this, right?"

They chat for a little infront of Shades mother and his little brothers coffin.

How did they die? No one knew... It was... a mystery...
