Chapter 4 Day 2

Second day of Shade working at the restaurant.

He was still getting familiar with all the people and the environment.

It was lunch time so he went to the staff room to get lunch but when he came back he saw a group of people wearing all black in the restaurant.

"Why are they wearing all black? Is it like a new trend or something. They got a cake and a big present. they are probably here for someone's birthday party."

After a little while 2 more people wearing black came inside the restaurant. They surprised the guy with the present and the cake, it was a guitar. Later the birthday boy starts playing the guitar.

"He plays quite well I am not gonna lie." says shade in his mind.

In the group there was an adult female, two adult males a little boy (somewhere around 10 years old) and.... a girl somewhere around Shades age.

The girl was wearing a mask and a cap on her head, so it was hard to make out how she looks like.

After celebrating they order food and start chattering.

"Yo why is there a little girl with those adult people?" whispers a server to shade.

"She's not a little girl, she's in the same class as I am."

"How do you know that?"

"I heard them talking."

"mmm, perceptive I see, anyways could you refill the drinks in the refrigerator."

"Sure."

Shade starts stocking up the drinks... when he comes back he sees that the girl isn't wearing her disguise anymore.

She had long black hair like the night sky, eyes like the stars. In short she was beautiful.

The girl looks at shade and they make eye contact.

*Thub Thub*

Shades heart beat starts exhilarating.

He immediately looks away.

"W-w-well after taking a good look at her, she doesn't look that bad I guess." says shade in his mind.

The group leaves after a little while.

Later that day Shade returns home.

He changes his clothes and washes his face. He hears his mom talking to someone on the phone. Upon having a closer listen he figures that its his father.

Shades father is out of the country for some business related stuff.

"Hey shade wanna talk to your dad?"

"Yeah sure."

His moms hands him the phone.

"Hi dad, how have you been."

"Hey there buddy, i heard you've been working hard lately."

"Yeah I've got a job at a restaurant, at first i really didn't feel like doing it but now that i know how things work its not a bad experience."

"Great, keep working hard and become a great man like your father. Haha!"

"Say shade, your father says that he is gonna re marry me once he comes back from this business trip and we are gonna celebrate it just like its our first time."

"Aww.. how romantic, I didn't know father was that kind of man. I think its a great idea, you two should definitely spend some time together."

They do small talks with each other for about a minute or so...

"Alright, I am going to bed, have to wake up early tomorrow."

"Good night son."

"Good night."
