Chapter 110: Will you be mine?

Years later.....

[Kaede POV]

"I was amazed you wanted to come here," I muttered to Shoto, who was walking beside me.

"It's best to revisit old memories, right?" He shrugged and answered rhetorically.

I nodded and smiled: "Of course!"

We were currently located at the entrance gate of our old school, UA Hero Academia. We have long graduated and today's the yearly famous school festival as crowds were streaming in.

"Look, it's pro-hero Maple and Shoto!" A bystander shouted, and all the heads turned toward us.

There were sounds of gasps as we were immediately surrounded by crowds asking for pictures and autographs. Shoto and I chuckled tiredly as we greeted our fans. No matter how many years went by, I still wasn't comfortable with all the fame and felt nervous. Thankfully Shoto was there to help, and together we smoothly handled the crowd.

After that ordeal, we entered the school, and I was full of nostalgia. I could never forget the wonderful memory I had of this place as we toured all the stalls set up by the students. We were recognized almost instantly as UA students went ballistic.

Luckily, Principal Nezu arrived, and we managed to escape from the waves of students. For the rest of the day, we walked around the school and visited all the events. Eventually, by sunset, Shoto suddenly took my hand as he led me down an all too familiar path.

We arrived at a grassy hill overlooking the entire school: "Do you remember this place?" Shoto asked. "How could I forget, this is the spot where my Shoto confesses." I teased him, "Back then, who would've thought you were the romantic type!"

Shoto's face reddened at my teasing; I turned my head to look at the fading sunset: "These few years sure have been hectic huh...."

After we defeated AFO, the heroes safely returned to the mainland to spread the news. The public rejoiced as their trust in us heroes started to return. The process was slow but noticeable as the views on heroes were again positive.

Aoyama and his family were also eventually released with a warning. Thankfully, they haven't actually caused a major crime, and he returned back to our class! We finished our studies without any hiccups and began our hero careers.

The first year of being heroes have been extremely busy. I have taken over my Onii-chan agency and even traveled around the world to help other countries. With our achievements, my classmates and I rise to the ranks at a fast speed, eventually becoming the #1 hero in Japan!

My classmates also secured a high rank, with Midoriya coming in second, Bakugo third, Shoto fourth, and the rest of my friends getting under thirtieth. Things were pretty hectic with being number one, but thankfully, my strength has grown significantly, so things weren't that difficult.

I managed to reenter my subconsciousness. I met Madara and Hagoromo again as they taught me everything they knew.

I eventually mastered my Daikoku, and I could now create a gigantic barrier that covered the entire city. I know it sounds absurd, but it's true, trust me! I took inspiration from Naruto, the Konoha Detection Barrier, and basically recreate one that surrounds the whole Musutafu!

I was able to detect everyone that entered or left. If there's anyone suspicious, I would be able to track them or even just straight up drain them dry before they could do anything bad. Now Musutafu has become one of the safest cities in Japan as no villains could hide from me!

Other than Aoyama, Lady Nagant was also pardoned as she helped investigate the corruption within the Hero Committee. Thanks to her efforts, the Hero Committee seemed to have turned for the better as the corrupted leaders were investigated and removed and replaced with more trustworthy members.

In the end, Lady Nagant retired from being a hero. She told me that she was in my debt as I was the one that proposed to give her one more chance. So now, she decided to work under my grandparents, acting as a caretaker and bodyguard.

Itachi-onii-chan was the one that led the investigation; speaking of my onii-chan, he and Shiretoko finally got together! Shiretoko's efforts have paid off as Itachi-onii-chan fell for her pretty hard, and they got married a year ago. Mom and Dad were basically crying tears of joy at the news. Eri and I were also ecstatic at having a sister-in-law...

"Those were some good memories...." I muttered with nostalgia.

Shoto nodded as he hugged me from behind, "I got a surprise for you." He said out of the blue.

He told me to close my eyes and face the other way, "Okay, you can turn around now," Shoto announced, and I excitedly spun around. However, nothing prepared me for what awaited me. Shoto knelt on one knee as he looked at me with a smile. In his hands was a small box.

"Sh...Shoto-kun this...."

"Kaede, words can't describe my love for you. You're my anchor and my rock that supports me every day. When times seem hard, you are there to hold me and let me know everything will be alright.

I enjoy every moment we spend together, and if there's one thing that I regret, it is that I haven't fallen in love with you sooner...."

My face was bright red, and steam was coming from my head. I felt dizzy as Shoto gently took my hand. He opened the box, revealing a majestic diamond ring.

"Kaede Uchiha, would you..." Shoto took a deep breath, "Would you marry me?"

Looking into Shoto's eyes, I saw unwavering determination. My heart thumped in my chest, and my body felt hot. I was speechless and didn't know what to say. However, deep within my soul, I already knew the answer. Even if I were asked a billion times, my answer would never change because my feelings were true...

My vision became blurry: "O..Okay..."

Shoto flinched with surprise: "Kaede..."

I wiped the tears away and smiled: " I will marry you, Shoto."

Shoto was in a daze as he slowly stood up, his face contorted into relief. He lifted my hand up and carefully slid the ring on my finger.

"You better be prepared; I'm going to be a handful, you know," I said with a mischievous tone.

Shoto laughed: "It doesn't matter. With you by my side, I could take on anything..."

I blushed and lightly smacked him: "You and your sweet words." I said with a pout.

Shoto smiled and stroked my hair: "Kaede."

"Yes?"

"Thank you for turning me into the happiest man in the world." Shoto declared shamelessly, and my face turned pink once more.
