Escape, or not…

I stood up in shock as my heart raced a thousand times per second.

"Rebecca!" I caught her attention and pointed to our answer.

She gave a soft happy sob and jumped from the sofa.

The only problem was that the vent was high up.

"Doesn't the vent also lead out to the front lobby?" I asked, hoping that she'd say yes.

"I believe it does."

That was good enough.

With a sigh of relief, we pushed the sofa closer to reach the vent, but it was too high for us to reach.

"It's no use." She frowned.

"Get on my back, you'll be able to reach it."

"Are you crazy? I'll trample you!"

"I'm not as weak as you think," I scoffed, "Just hop on."

"And what about you?"

"At least we know one of us would get out alive."

"Becky!" She scolded, "Don't joke like that!"

"Becca, I'm not joking. This is my fight, not yours. I don't want you involved with this. The last person I got involved— I regret it every second."

"Becky Mia Grey, I'm not freaking leaving you! You said it yourself, we are not best friends, we're family, and family sticks together."

"Try to understand that if you get out, you can make the call. I'll be right behind you, I promise."

"Are you sure?" She sobbed.

"Yes."

"Okay, if I get our first I'll call the police."

"Are you crazy?" I snapped at her, "You can't call the police!"

"Becky, what do you mean we can't call the police? Who the bloody hell are you planning to call?"

With a sigh, I pulled my phone out and checked the number I had saved before coming here. Then, I took hers and typed the number.

"Whose number is this?" She asked.

"Just call him and tell him that his Angel needs him right now."

"What?"

"And a bucket of ice cream. Please note the ice cream." I finished.

Thankfully, she didn't ask too many questions again. I helped her get into the vent, and she even tried reaching down for me, but it was no use.

"Just go, I'll find a way. I promise."

"Beck, please just-"

"Trust me, Rebecca."

With a painful sigh, she turned away.

"Now, go, hurry. I'll be there."

Hesitantly, she did as I said. I knew this was hard for her. She was always the one that looked out for me, and now it was my turn. It was a different change for her. I looked around the abandoned apartment, but there was nothing to aid with the height problem. Everything was cleared out, except the sofa and bed.

I walked to the kitchen to see if there was anything when suddenly, I heard a beep from my phone. Looking at it, I noticed a service bar, but it quickly disappeared. What the heck?

I neared the door, and it was turning off and on. Peeking out the window, I made sure the coast was clear and opened the door to walk out. Holding my phone, I got two bars and quickly dialed Sinister's number.

"Sin-" I said as I was cut short by Sudden pain and everything went black.

~*~

My eyelids felt heavy as they tried to force themselves open. Everywhere ached as I shifted on the Soft plush bed, my vision was blurred at first but cleared as I blinked a few times. Where was I? The room in which I was was huge and gave off an affluent ambiance.

Becky.

I knew that voice.

"S-sinister?" I mumbled as the pain diffused within me.

I tightened my eyes from the ache.

"Becky, it's alright baby, look at me."

Squinting my eyes back open, I noted Sinister kneeling at the side of the bed. He helped me sit upright.

"You're here." I breathed softly.

"My Angel needed me," He smirked as he cupped my cheeks, slightly twisting his fingers into my hair.

I let out a soft fragile laugh at that, "Did you bring the ice cream?"

"We have a lot here." A husky familiar voice interrupted, Vitaly.

My eyes widened, and I went into a state of panic.

"Becky, it's fine. He can't hurt you." Sinister tried to assure me.

"Sinister he—"

"I know." He frowned and shot Vitaly a murderous glance.

Vitaly neared the bed and chuckled, "If only I had my way, I would've-"

At that exact moment, Sinister shot up and grabbed him by the collar angrily, "You would've what?"

"Vitaly," A woman's calm voice suddenly interjected, "Mr. Salvatore and Miss Grey are our guests. Please conduct yourself."

The strange, tall, middle-aged woman stood at the door like some sort of goddess. Elegance and intensity laced her ambiance. I got off the bed and tried to steady myself. Vitaly scowled and walked out of the room after the woman left, while Sinister and I stood behind.

"What is this?" I frowned.

"I'll explain to you later." He mirrored back, "Come on."

With that, he walked out of the room and I achingly followed. I stopped where he stood in a huge living room. The woman stood at the center while two girls sat on the sofa. One seemed to be around Sinister's age while the other looked around eighteen. Vitaly leaked casually at the side with folded arms and a wicked smile.

"Please, Jude, get Miss Grey something to drink." The woman instructed one of her employees.

"I'm fine," I stated. I wasn't going to accept drinks from strangers. Not again.

"Then show her to a room. She must want to freshen up."

Truthfully, she was a bit right. I did want to take a bath so badly, hell no, I wasn't going to do it here.

"Take Mr. Salvatore as well," She continued.

Wait… what?

Are we taking our bath together?

Sinister frowned yet instructed me to follow the employee who took us upstairs.

"Would you like separate rooms?" He asked, suddenly stopping and turning towards us.

"No." I quickly stated, "We'll stay together."

With a nod, the employee opened a room door and smiled as she left.

"Stay together?" I heard Sinister tease behind me as we walked into the room.

"I am never leaving your side." I stated angrily, "Do you hear me, Sinister? Never. And you're not leaving mine instead."

"Hmm, demanding much?"

"No. I'm just making things clear between us." I frowned.

"You sound like my wife."

"Wife." I scoffed while sitting on the edge of the bed, "There's another 'Rosalie' you haven't told me about?"

Sinister's face seemed to turn to a hard expression of distaste. He walked around me, kneeling on the ground, and took my hand in his, "I need you to trust me, Becky."

His voice was oddly soft yet it was sincere. It wasn't normal to hear him in this tone of voice. I liked it, but I hated it at the same time. It made me feel as if he were hurt and unsure of what to do.

At that moment, there was another knock at the door. An elderly employee stood there with a subtle smile, "There are some clothes for the madam if she wishes to change."

Sinister casually stood and took the clothing with a nod while shutting the door.

"Change." He stated while tossing the clothes at me.

"I don't want to."

"Stop being stubborn, Becky. Here isn't the place for you to show your attitude. I'm trying to get you out of this shit. The least you can do is cooperate with me."
