Maybe More Than Friends

Porsche, after arriving at home, quickly changed into his hoodie. He hailed a taxi and was on his way to Anna's house when his phone rang. It was his boss calling about an urgent matter regarding his promotion at the store, asking him to return immediately.

Porsche had no choice but to obey his boss's command and return to the store. Upon his arrival, it became apparent that an important meeting was underway. Everyone's eyes were on Porsche, and they were offering their congratulations.

Porsche, however, was completely taken aback by the situation. His boss called him forward and declared, "Porsche, you have been appointed as the manager of this branch." Porsche was both surprised and delighted, not knowing how to react to the sudden news. He managed to stammer out, "Well, sir, uh, I really don't know what to say. This is so sudden." Gratefully, he continued, "I'm truly thankful to you, sir. It's a great honor for me to be appointed as the manager."

Porsche was overjoyed by the news of his promotion, and immediately after the meeting ended, he hurried to Anna's house. He ran the entire way, panting as he rang the doorbell in anticipation of seeing her. However, there was no response, and he waited anxiously for two minutes.

When there was still no answer, he began to worry that Anna might be at the store. But he couldn't understand why she would be there so early. He rushed to her store, only to find it closed, which heightened his concern. Porsche dialed her number repeatedly, but Anna wasn't picking up, leaving him feeling increasingly nervous and helpless.

Returning to her house, he rang the doorbell again, desperately hoping for a response, but there was still no sign of Anna.

Porsche was overwhelmed with worry and frustration, both at the situation and at Anna. His anxiety and anger surged, leading him to angrily punch the gate outside Anna's house before waiting there for about ten minutes.

During this time, he received a message, and his heart leaped with relief when he saw that it was from Anna. The message simply stated, "I am at the park," but her tone sounded somewhat serious.

Porsche wasted no time and hurried to the park. As he approached the bench where Anna was sitting with her head down, her face expressionless, he quietly took a seat beside her. Both of them remained in silence for several minutes, the tension palpable in the air.

Anna lifted her head with an expressionless face and whispered to Porsche, "I have been waiting since 5:00." Porsche was shocked, and his heart sank upon hearing this. He replied, "I'm sorry. Something came up."

Anna remained silent and turned her face away, clearly upset. Porsche could feel her disappointment and knew he needed to explain himself. He attempted to placate Anna, saying, "I was on my way to your house, but my boss called me to return to the mart."

Anna, still dissatisfied with Porsche's explanation, responded, "Why would he call you so early, and you should have told me beforehand." Porsche politely asked if he could explain further, and Anna, though still upset, quietly turned to face him, looking down.

Porsche spoke politely, "And you should have informed me that we were going to meet at the park."

Anna, still with her head down, replied, "I kept waiting for you until 6:00 at home, but when you didn't show up, I decided to come to the park. I thought maybe you changed your plans and didn't want to see me. You are my only friend."

With a sorrowful voice, she further added, "It tore me up, and I came here with all kinds of negative thoughts in my mind. I thought you might not want to continue our friendship. I know it sounds lame, but I don't know what to do with my overthinking."

After hearing this, Porsche was left speechless. He quickly moved forward and tightly hugged Anna. They both stayed quiet for a while. While hugging Anna, Porsche spoke, "I have been promoted to the post of manager." Anna was extremely happy for him, and she hugged him even tighter, congratulating him. Porsche could see genuine happiness in Anna's eyes for his success.

Porsche said, "You are the first person I've told this news to." As Anna quietly listened to Porsche, he further added, "All good things have started happening to me after I met you." Porsche held Anna and then added, "I can't even think about spending a day without you. You have become an important part of my life now. A friend whom I can't lose no matter what."

Porsche took a break and then said, "Never ever think about me ignoring you or ending my friendship with you. We are too old for that. I promise you that I'll be by your side till I die, you idiot."

Anna was deeply moved by Porsche's heartfelt confession. She felt a warmth in her heart and a sense of security in their friendship. It was a moment that strengthened their bond and reassured Anna that she had a true and caring friend in Porsche, and then they got up and started walking beneath the beautiful trees with the falling leaves as the wind was blowing hard. It felt like the world had changed for them, and they were both grateful for the friendship they had found in each other.
