Chapter 7

Just when Lily was about to unleash her wrath on the guard, she heard a familiar voice filled with authority and power from behind the guard and froze for a few seconds before lowering her head in a respectful manner

" This servant greets the old master."

When Alex heard the voice, he looked behind the guard and saw a handsome old man who looked a lot like him except for his age. Judging from his looks, he was at least 45 or more with a slightly wrinkled face.

He was standing at 1.5metres tall with short white hair, and dreamy silver eyes identical to Alex's. He was wearing a fancy white attire from top to bottom. The expression on his face was calm but if one were to look into his eyes one would see rage and anger. He was none other than the Geisar family's patriarch in other words Alexander's grandfather.

[ he must be your grandfather, he looks scary]. system.

"what? he doesn't look scary to me." said Alex. He didn't know why but he didn't feel scared rather, he felt relieved nad happy to see him.

....

The guard wanted to look back but all his senses were screaming otherwise as if he would die the moment he does so. He felt like a rabbit in front of a mighty dragon.

"Are you the one who insulted my grandson?" Alex's grandfather asked with a calm voice and expression but the guard felt like the devil was the one talking not some old man.

The guard's whole body was drenched in his sweat. He didn't know how to respond to the question. He wanted to run but his legs were paralyzed by some 'unknown' power.

After a few seconds, the guard finally gathered his wits and answered back

"you can't do anything to me, I'm under the protection of the Sixth Prince." despite giving a confident answer, his legs were shaking from sheer terror.

The old man smirked evilly when he heard the guard's answer.

"Ok you can go..... and please tell his majesty that 'Sir' James will be visiting him tomorrow afternoon." after saying those words, the old man known as James walked toward the two teenagers who were standing a few feet away.

The guard thought that James was scared of his backing and felt proud but didn't dare show it on his face.

After reaching the two, he looked at Alex with a smile however that smile soon faded when he saw the other party not reacting. He squinted his eyes a little as if trying to look deep inside Alex's soul.

Alex looked at the old man with an awkward expression while scratching his cheek with his finger. He didn't know what to do or how to react in front of the old man and decided to look at the maid beside him for help.

Lily saw his pleading expression and decided to tell Oldman James what had happened.

"Sir....." Lily started explaining everything in detail about the events that had taken place in the forest including the part about Alex losing his memories and so on.

Mr. James was greatly shocked by the revelation that his eyes widened and his eyes started to tear up a bit. He couldn't believe how much his grandson had suffered in the forest.

Lily saw the old man's expression and knelt before him.

" It's all my fault. I had the responsibility of protecting master Alex but failed to do so please punish me."her eyes were red and tears were flowing like a waterfall down her cheek)

Both Old James and Alex looked at Lily and shook their heads. 'apologising freak'

" Don't apologize, mistakes happen. The most important thing is that both of you are safe." said grandfather James with a genuine smile on his face.

Lily did as she was told and stood up from her kneeling position and looked at Alex and so did Oldman James.

.....

Alex being the center of attention didn't know what to do and just stood there looking at the ground.

*sigh*

Oldman James sighed when he saw how uncomfortable his grandson was. He patted his right shoulder with his hand.....

*pat*pat*

"Let's just go home, for now, the others are worried about the both of you."

Lily and Alex nodded and followed James entering the gate without paying a single cent.

The guard didn't dare say anything and just let them pass without paying. He was too young to die after all.

Only after they had finally disappeared from his view did he sigh in relief. He felt happy and relieved at the same time.

"They dare disrespect his majesty. How dare a fallen noble like himself say he wants to meet the king?" The guard was gritting his teeth in anger.

The guard reached for his trouser pocket and pulled out a small crystal ball the size of guava. He smirked looking in the direction the three had disappeared from and released an evil smile.

" let's see if you'll still act arrogant after the king sees this recording. Hahaha! ." he started laughing madly attracting the attention of the passers-by and other gate guards who were close.

"Mommy why is that man laughing like a crazy person"

"Just ignore him, sweety, he must be on drugs"

The people who saw the guard laugh passed different comments. Some even started lecturing their children about how bad it is to take drugs.

The guard saw the weird looks directed his way and fixed his composure. He entered the gate and started walking towards the castle located at the center of the town.

Alex and the others were completely oblivious to the guard's plan and kept walking along the bustling streets of the town filled with many people. Some were selling and some were buying. 'What a lively town' thought Alex.

Alex was completely awed by the different races he saw in the streets. While others appeared normal like the ones on earth, others had beast-like ears and tails. Some looked like humans but had long pointy ears and great beauty.

Lily saw the awed expression on her master's face and started telling him about the different races and the different goods sold on the markets. The ones with beast features were called demi-humans and the ones with the long ears were elves.

Grandpa James also joined in on the conversation and told Mike about other different races apart from elves and demi-humans like demons and vampires and so on...

After 30 minutes of walking, the three finally arrived at the Geisar residence.

"EVERYONE, FATHER HAS RETURNED WITH THE TWO RASCALS!!!",

Alex and Lily: ?!.
