Part 9 : Friends

"Hello...Kosair" I nervously said.

"Caroline...right?" he asked. I nodded.

"Yep. Correct!" I awkwardly said. "That's me-miss Olivia"

"Caroline. It's so good to see you again." Miss Olivia gave me a tight bear hug.

"Mom she can't breathe." Kosair said.

"Whoops well, it's a COINCIDENCE bumping into you. AM I RIGHT, Kosair?"

Miss Olivia kept nudging Kosair's arm.

Kosair looked up and narrowed his eyebrows. "You ok with all that, Levi?"

I turn around and see Levi with a lot of dog food and chew toys. Kosair took the dog food from him and casually passed by me.

Briana was nowhere to be found though...

"Miss Olivia, I'm gonna go. My friend is...Levi, where is she?"

"Oh she went to check out."

"Thanks. Miss Olivia, Kosair. I'll be on my way. See you soon." I waved them goodbye and turned around another aisle but I heard my name.

I was about to go back but I just listened.

"You know Caroline, miss Siren?" I hear Levi's voice.

"Yep. Also, she found it."

"What? No kidding?" Levi asked in disbelief. "Kosair. How did you feel."

There was a pause. "I feel-"

"Caroline" Briana suddenly pulled me back. "It took you a while." she complained. "Our dogs are waiting, remember?" She said as we went to the check out.

We paid for our stuff and went back to Briana's house and continued to finish our project.

"And....sent to Mr. Square." I said happily. Briana smiled.

"Thank good ness that's done. Now. Care to talk about what happened earlier?" Briana looked at me curiously with her hands on her hips.

I put my laptop in my bag and sat back down to talk.

I sighed. "I met Levi one day sometime after the mall's opening and we chatted for a bit then he went off. The second time, we talked too. Then the third time, he asked for my insta but we haven't chatted."

Briana looked worried. "Do you like him?" She asked me.

I know deep in my heart... "No."

That I like Kosair.

"Thank goodness. I can have him." She rejoiced.

I rolled my eyes. "Remember your current boyfriend, Angelo?"

"yeah...but I don't really mean it, Caroline."

I gave her a small smile. Angelo lost himself after he broke up with Briana the first time. It was a year ago and he depended on alcohol and smoking but now, he looks good again and maybe better than ever.

"Well, Caroline. Who are you interested in?" Briana said as she looked at me.

I happened to look at the ring I was wearing, it later that I realized that it was a diamond ring with something engraved at the bottom. 'To the owner of my heart.'

I smiled. "I like Kosair."

"Now who the heck is Kosair?" She asked in disbelief.

"He's the son of the animal shelter in Hinunadayan." I explained.

"Hinundayan huh? Where CJ lives?" She asked. "Is he cute?"

I nodded. Super. "He is, I admit....but I know that I'm just crushing on him and nothing else."

"You sure?" Briana asked.

"He's handsome. Look at me, I'm not pretty. How can I measure up to that?! There are legit millions of girls prettier than I'll ever be."

I didn't know that a tear went down my cheek and the drop landed on the ring which made me nervous.

There was a sudden tug in my heart like I can hear someone crying as well.
