Part 59: Regret

Prince Nile, the prince of Oceanica rolled his eyes at the respectful diety. "I told you a million times to stop calling me that, Gal." He crossed his arms and takes her hand. "I need to show you something in the garden!"

Galleria laughs as the prince excitedly takes her to the palace gardens.

She gasped in amazement. "Wow. The garden looks so bright with all these new flowers." Even for an Erth siren, she will always admire the beauty of the ocean's flora.

The prince smiles in content. "I arranged this myself." he humbly bragged with his hands behind him.

Galleria raised her brow. "Oh really? So you're a prince slash gardener now?" She laughed.

"Maybe" The prince smirked. "Hey...can you take out what I asked you to bring." He said with a big smile on his face.

Galleria turns around to get her bag and takes out a letter from Malnivero.

"Read it out loud. " The prince said.

Galleria looked at him with confusion. "Am I announcing another achievement of his highness?"

The prince laughed. "Just read it" he happily said.

Galleria shook her head and read the paper. "Today is a great day for I am merry." she laughed and looked up to the prince. "Of course you would be-"

The prince holds out a box with a ring inside. On that ring was a pink pearl. The pink pearl that symbolized love and the bond of soulmates. Prince Nile looked at Galleria with hopeful eyes.

Galleria starts to break into tears as the prince said. "Galleria, will you marry me?"

Galleria nods as golden tears streak down her face. They hugged each other and the prince slipped the ring on her finger. Galleria looked at the ring with admiration but then sadness struck her.

Galleria looked at the prince with worry. "What about the war? It's two days from now. You know that it will last for a long time."

The prince took her hand and place it on his heart. "Have faith in me. Be it a promise ring. When I return, we'll have a wedding ceremony in this very garden."

They both looked around the place, imagining what their future wedding day would look like.

Galleria nodded. "I will wait for you, Nile. I will always be in the Garden of Roselia'a in the East. I have to protect the marine life."

The prince nodded with a smile. "I know. I'll ask Malnivero if you would be hiding like last time." he joked. "I can't wait until that day comes."

Galleria smiled and longingly gazed into the prince's eyes. "I can't wait to marry you, Nile."

"I shouldn't have waited to marry you, Nile." Galleria silently sobbed as she looked into the thick ice of where Nile's body was preserved.

"We should've said out vows right then and there...I wouldn't have regretted to leave you." She softly touches the ice.

"But don't worry, Nile..." Galleria said as she balls her fist, her white knuckles showing, competing with the whiteness of the ice. "I will bring you back to life...if it takes me twenty more years!"
