Part 5 : Shopping Cart

It was closing time and every one of us went home. Briana seemed to be a little disturbed because, after the news of Jenna's death, Axon and Barry were talking about death and the consequences and karma that got to Jenna. She was having all this just after the check-up on her heart but I tried my best to distract her and talked about our own topics. Her pet cat Koby just gave birth to three new kittens just a week ago.

She showed me adorable pictures to chich they looked incredibly adorable.

I'm heading to her house later to do another project and I'm gonna be bringing the new dog that I'm gonna adopt.

I head home, took a shower, and put on some casual clothes cause I smell like oil and street food.

I waited for the clock to hit 4.

I first checked my things, my wallet especially.

Oh no...I need to buy stuff for the dog.

The clock was still at 3:30.

I quickly made my way to the mall near our house and went to the second floor where I absolutely know that there were dog harnesses.

I turned another aisle to get there when I bump into someone and they dropped their dog food and cat kibble.

"Ah shoot. I'm so sorry." I quickly apologized and picked up some of the bags off the ground. I handed it to the person who dropped it when I looked into his eyes.

"It's fine-Oh! it's you." that's the guy I met the other day. His brown hair is swept to the side and his golden-brown eyes are still as shiny as ever.

"Damn. I could get a cart. Wait here." I quickly said and ran to where the carts were. I could hear him calling for me but I immediately got back. He puts all the food in the cart and thanked me.

"I'm gonna go get a dog harness. Bye." I casually said and passed by him. I could hear him say something but stopped.

I turned around and he was walking away with the cart.

I sighed. Don't get your hopes too high, Caroline. Remember that you're not pretty.

I quickly picked a pretty pastel blue harness, a comfy bed, and a mat. I grabbed a few squeaky toys and dog shampoo.

I checked out my stuff and went to the local agri store and bought some dog food there.

I went home and placed the things in the living room. A few moments after, I hear a car honk outside. That's Aunt Fran and Aunt Lindsey!

"Hurryyyyy" I said to myself as I perfumed off the smell of dog food.

I hurried outside and locked the house door.

I got in the car and Aunt Fran looked confused. "Where were you? You looked like you just ran a hundred-meter dash."

Aunt Lindsey laughed and fixed my hair. " We actually saw you running with all those dog food and accessories. We could've just helped you with the shopping, you know."

And they both just laughed as I just pouted in my seat.

We arrived at Hinundayan and the memories began to flood back. The church is the first thing that I can see and I remembered Christmas when our group was taking pictures under the fairy lights.

I leaned closer to the window and I noticed someone familiar in the corner of my eye.

"CJ?"
