Please, don't leave me." She felt helpless. "Was I just a doll that you carry around? Was I a toy that you groomed and played with?" She gritted her teeth. "Was I just your little doll?" Part 24: The Family

"Whoops. I didn't mean to scare you."

I am now facing to face with a man in his forties, he is the old version of Kosair, and I immediately know that he is Sir Krum Siren.

I was speechless but I recovered and gave him a bow as a greeting.

"Lift your head, Caroline. I've heard so many good things about you." He said.

"Oh" That was all I could say. Could I be any stupider when it comes to communication?

"Olivia told me that your-"

"You're a darling. YES! ISN'T SHE, KOSAIR?" Miss Olivia covered her husband's mouth as she looked at Kosair with crazy eyes.

Kosair just sighed and laughed a little. "Yes, she is, mother."

Miss Olivia calmed down and released her husband but hit him in the head afterward.

"Owww." He complained under his breath. Then he remembered something. "Oh! I recall your name, Caroline. Are you one of the investors in the Siren RoboPets?" he asked me in with enthusiasm.

I nodded, feeling shy since it was a secret that I was investing. I kept it from my friends except for Briana, and especially my family because they wouldn't like that. I didn't even tell them about Bruno.

"Come to my office, I have the payment for you ready. We were about to distribute them today but since you're here, you can receive it yourself."

I nodded and followed Sir Krum.

"Each Siren Facility has a money vault and the money for the company is still in this building since the vault in the tech facility is still being tested that it's sure to not open for anyone except for the Sirens." He proudly said.

I nodded. "That sounds very impressive, sir. May I know the first project of the company?" I shyly asked.

Sir Krum opened the vault that is in his office. "No one ever asked me about the projects before." He said in realization. "The investors ever only ask about how much they're getting paid, how much I am earning, and how much they'll earn after a few years of investment." He said. "People could get greedy these days but you just proved me wrong. It turns out, not all people are that way."

"Thank you for the kind thought, sir."

He laughed a little. "Pfft. You can just call me pops or Krum...or father-in-la-"

"FATHER!!!" A loud voice came bursting into the room and it was Kosair...with auburn hair?

"When did you die your hair? Or is it a wig-"

"Father! I was attacked by the Sholters."

He ignored me.

Sir Krum looked angry for a second but calmed down immediately. She sighed and rested his hands on my shoulders. "Don't be rude to a lady, son." He pushed me forward towards Kosair, falling onto him. He caught me immediately and we both into each other's eyes.

My heart was beating fast...but that moment was over when he lets go off me.

I fall on the floor with a thud. Luckily it's a carpeted floor. Still, ouch.

Why did Kosair do that? I sadly asked myself as I start to pick myself up from the floor.

"Kole! You stupid excuse of a man." I heard him say.

Wait. Hold on.

"What?!" I exclaimed as I am face to face with Kosair but his hair was back to platinum blonde. Twin????

I looked at both of them and the only extinguishing feature from them is the hair color.

So the darker haired twin is a donkey.

Kosair carefully helped me up and I swear he heard my back crack. "ah...shi-" I stopped myself from swearing in front of them. "There goes my spine." I said in defeat, laughing internally.

"Let me take you to the hospital, Caroline." Kosair hurriedly said and I stopped him. He's overacting. I just fell for a good ruler's amount of distance.

"Nononoo I'm fine. Don't worry." I carefully stood up while holding my back. My butt also hurts so much from the landing.

I think I'm getting old.

To my horror, I heard a deep growl. "Kole Phoenix Siren! To the depths with you." I looked at Sir Krum who had clouded irises.

"This is your fault." Kole looked at me with despise and exited the office.
