The Witch

"So this is a human city?" Kurumu asked as they walked down the street and Eli nodded as his ears began to hurt from all of the noise the humans were making, "Are you ok?"

"I hate cities." Eli told her as he covered his ears before groups of humans began to swarm around them and they heard glass shatter when Yukari raised her wand up. Tsukune grabbed her hand and they quickly went into a nearby alley way to escape any onlookers.

"I'm sick of this! I'm sick of humans and the human world!" Yukari yelled when they stopped and Tsukune kneeled down as he tried to talk it out, "How could you possibly understand being a human?! Our worlds are just too different! We just aren't able to see eye to eyes with each other you human!"

"Yukari!" Eli surprised the others when he yelled since he had never even raised his voice to any of the before and she looked at him with wide eyes before a murder of crows began to attack them, causing them to lose sight of each other. When they left Yukari was nowhere to be seen and they immediately ran out of the alley to see where she went.

"Why are so many crows flying around there?" Kurumu asked as she pointed to the roof of a nearby building and they quickly made their way over. When they reached the roof they saw another witch hugging Yukari tightly before she realized they were their and put herself between them and Yukari.

"Thank goodness we found you Yukari. We all got worried when you disappeared." Tsukune said as he held his hand out to her but he wasn't able to continue before the witch sliced through his chest with several blades formed into wings and Eli's rosaries became to shake violently as he processed what happened. Eli yelled as he dashed towards her and she laughed wickedly as she pierced his chest with the blades, causing blood to splatter across the roof.

"No!" Kurumu screamed as he hit the ground and tears filled her eyes before she saw his white cross pointing straight out as if it was trying to remove itself and she dove for it as Moka bit into Tsukune's neck.

"Humans are the enemy Yukari!" The witch said as Yukari helplessly watched the situation with wide eyes, "We should kill our enemies without hesitation!"

"That's one thing we agree on." Inner Eli told her as he and Tsukune stood up and she watched Eli's wounds almost instantly heal before they slammed their fists into her gut. She bounced off of the wall, causing her to be knocked unconscious on impact and Kurumu handed Eli his cross. He looked at the unconscious witch then to Yukari before sighing and putting the cross in his pocket

"You're not going back to normal yet?" Kurumu asked as Moka helped Tsukune stand and Eli shook his head before he lifted the witch up, "You plan on helping her?!"

"That's why I'm staying out for the time being. If she tries to attack us again then I'll stop her." Eli asked while looking at Yukari and Kurumu sighed with a small smile as they began their trek to the motel. It didn't take long for her to wake up and when she didn't attack them immediately Inner Eli sealed himself away once again.

"Don't move too much you're still injured." Tsukune told Ruby when she tried to stand and she gave him a confused look, "I'm Tsukune Aono and we're at the motel our teacher booked for a our research trip."

"How did a human defeat me?!" Ruby asked with a glare and Eli just chuckled at her, "I'm a witch so none of you humans should have been able to beat me!"

"He's the only human here." Eli explained as he pointed at Tsukune before motioned to Moka and Kurumu, "These two and myself are monsters and, as you already know, Yukari is a witch."

"You're lying! Humans and monsters could never be friends!" Ruby yelled as she swung her arm and accidentally hit Tsukune, who winced in pain, "Why did you help me?"

"Do you need a reason to help someone?" Tsukune asked her with a smile and Eli noticed the slight blush that formed in her cheeks, "Besides we both went overboard attacking you and I'm sorry for that."

"We should get some rest." Moka said as she and Kurumu unrolled the futons and once they were asleep Ruby watched Eli pick something up before walking out of the room. She quietly crawled off of her futon and went to follow him out of curiosity but she stopped when Yukari woke up. Eli heard the door to their room open as he leaned on the open window seal to feel the cool night's breeze and he turned his head to see Ruby and Yukari walking towards him.

"Why do you hate humans so much?" Eli asked Ruby in a calm tone as he watched the cars drive by and she gave Yukari a sad look before sighing, "I don't like humans either but people like Tsukune are rare exceptions."

"When I was a child my parents were killed by a drunk driver and ever since then I've had nothing but disdain for them." Ruby explained in a sad voice and Eli nodded in understanding, "You're lucky Yukari. You have friends like these while I spent most of my childhood alone."

"Here." Eli said as he reached towards the floor and handed Ruby her wand with a serious look in his eyes, "You aren't the only one who's felt alone."

"Thank you." Ruby said as she took her wand back before she suddenly sprinted from the building and Eli sighed as the others walked around the corner. Eli's eyes narrowed when their bus driver seemed to appear out of nowhere and he gave them a wicked smile as he lit his cigar.

"The master mind behind all of this is going to make her move soon and this city is going to be over run by her army." He explained with a wicked smile and they all looked at each other with wide eyes, "So what do you kids plan to do about it?"
