Race for the Tomb

A/N: The beginning of the story will be a mix of Saint Seiya Lost Canvas and Next Dimension, then it will lead into Seiya's generation before moving on to bleach and all of it's arks. So hopefully you all stick with me for the ride and always thanks for reading.

Back in the village, Shijima makes his way to the tavern and sits down waiting for Ryuji to return. A group of men seeing Shijima sitting by himself nod to each other and walk over to him.

"Hey buddy why do we sit with you and have ourselves a drink?"

The first man looks at Shijima with a smile on his face and the smell of beer on his breath.

"Sure have a seat, I could use the company."

The men smile and begin to find a seat at the table. The first man puts his hand in the air and calls out to the owner for a round of beer.

"Why is a guy like you walking alone, in a dangerous area like this? You could lose your life easily, especially now that the tomb is opening up."

Shijima raises his brow in confusion. He looks over at the man then asks him a question.

"Is there some kind of danger now that this tomb is going to open?"

"Yea, many groups of strong men are going to enter that cavern to find treasure and maybe get the armor of legends. I heard many of these men can use the mystical cosmo energy, that the great Saints of Athena use to battle."

"A great battle is coming and I can bet money that all those men are watching the mountain for anyone brave enough to sneak in."

The second man nods his head in agreement, then the owner comes to the table with 4 beers. The men grab at the drinks and begin to drink.

"I walk into a man like those going to the mountain, just being in front of him made it hard to breath."

The second man recounts his experience with the unknown figure with anger in his eyes.

"If I has that power I would have smacked him into next week for being in my way like that."

The group of men begin to laugh spilling their drinks all around, some even landing on Shijima's clothes.

At another table, a man could be seen wrapped in a cloak. The man overhears the words of the men and begins to get angry and releases his cosmo.

Boom!! The pressure slams into the men, causing them and their chairs to go splat falling to the floor.

The man stands up and walks over to the men laying on the floor looking ridiculous.

"I heard you say you would snack me silly, well I'm here now why don't you do it?"

Shijima looks at the man as calm as ever, watching the events play out around him.

The men get up off the floor and get down on their knees.

"Please sir, that was the beer talking I'm just a normal nobody I'm sorry i I offended you!"

"Oh really now, well guess what I don't care. You've made me angry so now i'm going to punish you for it."

The man begins to gather his cosmo to his right fist, his hand begins to glow then rush forward towards the man on the ground.

Right before the hand could smash into the kneeling man, a hand stopped the incoming attack.

"That's enough let these men go they can't do anything to you."

Shijima blocks the mans attack with his hand stopping the situation.

The man pulls his hand back and stares and Shijima.

"A friend of theirs, ha looks like your here for the tomb as well. I'll deal with you at the tomb, it will be your resting place that I promise."

The man begins to laugh as he walks out of the tavern. Not caring about the words of the man, Shijima waves his hands the broken table and chairs begin to fix themselves.

"You three should stop drinking it will get you killed."

After saying that he turned and asked the owner for the rooms Ryuji got for them. He walked to his room and began to meditate, his cosmo rises into the air connecting to another presence in the void.

Far away on a temple high up on a mountain stands the Pope of the Saints of Athena. He stands at the edge of the mountain watching the world below. As he stands there he begins to sense the presence of Virgo Shijima.

"Pope Sage I have gotten the boy to join us, I will train him along the way to Sanctuary. However, we have run into a situation, there is an armor that I presume to be a cloth calling out to him."

"Good work Shijima, help him retrieve this cloth whatever it is we have no records of it in our order. This could be a wonderful sign or an omen of bad things to come."

"I will have Dohko travel the earth to look for the next reincarnation of Lady Athena. We must get to her before any harm befalls her."

"Also Pope, the boy tells me he is from another world, one that has its own powers that govern the world. He possesses what he calls the power of a Soul Reaper and a Hollow. These beings possess great power that controls the power of souls."

"That would explain, the pull of fate towards him. He is an outlier that is not governed by the fate of this world. He can alter the fate of this world just with his presence alone. Thanks for the information Shijima I will plan for the future."

Shijima leaves his meditation then senses the approach of Ryuji to the tavern. He walks out of his room and meets Ryuji downstairs.

"Tonight, we will go to the mountain to get the armor hidden down below. This will be a great test for you, many other warriors will be their who can also use cosmo; you will have to fight through them to get to the end."

Ryuji's smile leaves his face as soon as he hears Shijima's words.

Shit I just got done sparring with you now I have to fight people who will try and kill me; I just want a small break.

Fake tears begin to stream down Ryuji's face. Shijima shakes his head then smacks him in the head.

"Get ready we are leaving now!"

Ryuji rubs his head this time with real tears coming out.

"Yes mom!"

Shijima releases his cosmo for a second. During that second Ryuji dashes to his room hoping not to get smacked once more.

Shijima smiles and shakes his head then walks out of the tavern.

They gather their things then make their way out of the village towards the mountain on foot.

"I will not interfere in your battles unless your life is at risk. Show me what the last 2 years of your training has done for you."

Ryuji nods his head as they continue to run forward.

An hour later, as they run through the trees the sense 3 men standing in the trees before them. They stop and look up at their hiding spot, waiting for their next move.

Ryuji walks forward and screams.

"Come out we can sense you hiding your not very good at holding in your cosmo!"

A few seconds later, three men can be seen walking out of the darkness, smiles plastered on their faces.

"They spotted us o well, we will still kill them in the end."

The 3 men walk towards Ryuji and Shijima drawing their weapons. Ryuji draws his Asauchi on his hip, holding it facing the men ahead.

"Ryuji you handle them I want to see what you can do now."

Shijima walks back towards a tree then sits down on the ground in a meditation pose.

"Okay I got this, these guys are weak it shouldn't take me too long to clean them up."

"You know what let's kill this arrogant boy!"

The men charge at Ryuji in a three way formation. One in the front, one to the right, and one to the left. They charge forward injecting cosmo into their blades.

At the same time they all slash a wave of cosmo at Ryuji.

Ryuji smiles then injects cosmo within his blade.

"SANCTIFY TEILA'RO!"

An explosion of cosmo sweeps out destroying the incoming attacks like they were nothing.

The smoke clears showing the figure of Ryuji wearing a black and white Shihakusho with a black and white scythe in his hands.

He crosses the scythes in front of himself and says.

"Shadow World!"

Cosmo erupts in the area, creating a pitch black darkness that covers the three men and Ryuji. The three men look around in fear not being able to see anything or the men next to them.

Ryuji inserts his scythes into the ground, they submerge into the liquidity waters of the darkness and appear behind the 2 men on the left and right.

The scythes creep up on the men wrapping around their throats. The men feel the sense of death all around them but they can't see or sense where it is coming from.

The second the cold steel of the scythes touch their necks it is too late. The blades cut their necks ending their lives in an instant.

The last man sensing the life of the other 2 men disappear decides to run. He runs back towards the mountain, however no matter how much he runs the darkness doesn't leave him.

Ryuji drops into the shadows and blinks in front of the running man shocking him to death.

"How the hell did you get there and what did you do to my boys!?" The man scared for his life screams out at Ryuji.

"Oh don't worry about anything you will be seeing them soon."

Ryuji smiles at the man the slashes his scythes at the man. 2 slashes of silver cosmo rush towards the man. He covers his blade in cosmo then tries to block the slashes, but the instant his blade and the slashes clashes, his blade breaks and he is cut into many pieces.

Ryuji releases his Shikai and walks over to Shijima.

"How did I do, could I have done it a lot quicker or what?"

"You got the job sone however you used up too much cosmo for such weak men. Next time just use the smallest amount of energy to finish a weaker opponent."

Shijima stands up then they begin to run forward towards the mountain.

In the air more Specters can be seen floating looking in the direction of the mountain.

"The lines of fate show that the boy is going towards that mountain let's catch up and apprehend him. Be careful of the gold saint with him if he catches you it's over."

The men in black rush towards the mountain following the lines of fate.
