Every man... Errr.... Ghost for himself!!!!

It seems like the big shots finally decided to show up. At least they are not as late as the police in my past life, I sighed to myself. But the closed-off path in front of me let me know their intentions.

They didn't care what happened to those outside the building.

They only wanted to protect those people inside by closing the way off with a shield. Meaning those that are outside are dispensible for them. If you think about it closely it is a logical choice. Every ruling authority would choose to save the majority of lives, instead of endangering more to save the few.

"There's only one way to survive now!" I said in a grim voice, "Escape!"

"Where..??" The loli looked left and right with a confused face.

"Did you say something?" The cheerful guy said.

It seems like they still didn't know my existence! So I decided to introduce myself to them.

"Hello! I am Pearl. and I am...a... Ghost?" I put up the best smile I could and introduced myself to them. Even though they were unable to see it.

They finally seemed to have pinpointed my location. But they didn't seem happy. All 4 of the elves looked at each other and then at the fifth person sitting on the backseat casually.

"Who... is that?" The meek-looking healer said as she was healing the unconscious beast tamer.

I turned back to the direction she was pointing and wondered about the same thing. Moreover, he intrigued them more than me.... an invisible dead person. How disappointing.

The person in question looked back at them and then.... continued what he was doing. That is nothing.

What a chunni... is he intentionally trying to act cool?

Meanwhile, the bomber continued bombing waking everyone about the current reality.

"Yes! It doesn't matter who he is... What we do next is more important. The deciding factor on if we die or we live" I drew their attention back to the current problem.

The four teenage elves looked at each other. The maturest boy among them said, "We can't go into the building. So the only way left is Heaven's gate. But those extremely powerful dragons are there.... and by the looks of things going on there. It is going to be a fight out of our hands.."

So the hole in the sky is called Heaven's gate huh?

"Averon is right. Both of our escape routes are closed off. So we must endure till those bigshots finish off their fights. The bomber is not targeting us now, so we still have room for escape"

The healer said in a serious tone. She was not treating the beast tamer anymore.

But I don't think that enduring till that moment of time is possible..... but I couldn't say that to these kids. As we were chatting, and unsuspecting fireball came our way, And by the time I realize it it was too late!

My life... both of my lives flashed before my eyes at that moment.

But the thing I feared never happened. The fireball was frozen in a place hovering right above us. Before my brain could process what was happening, the silent human boy from before stood up from his seat.

"Bothersome... tsk" His voice was mature, unlike his face. He raised his hand and flicked his finger. The fireball was instantly extinguished.

"Let's leave!" He said coolly, but not to us apparently.

His voice was magnetic. Before I had time to figure out what was going on, the manta ray named Dragon moved. It flew directly high into the sky successfully drawing the attention of the bomber.

Since he discovered us again, he concentrated his attack on our direction. But none of these attacks was successful. The bomber came closer, but pause after he sighted the black-haired teenager. He halted his attacks and let us pass.

The manta ray successfully made its way past the gigantic dragons from right under the humongous orb. Nobody stopped us. I saw the group of elites looking over in our direction, but nobody made a move.

Soon we entered the hole in the sky aka heavens gate. There was nothing stopping us. The panic and hopelessness I felt moments ago seemed to be a joke in front of him.

I turned towards him and he was lazing again in his usual position.

"Princess Arelia of the Dark Elves Kingdom Thanks Lord Tom Wraith!" The loli did a dogeza and said humbly. Seeing the princess, the other four also copied her.

Tom Wraith? Sounds familiar? But I can't recall where I heard the name. Was he someone famous? Should I bow along with them? =_=

As I was cluelessly watching them, the teenager looked at the loli and said, "You know me?"

"Yes my lord, I have read quite a lot of research and books by you back in the Kingdom." The loli replied in a respectful voice.

"I see. " Afterwards he continued lazing.

Books? Is he a writer? or a scientist maybe...

Anyway... nobody I know. The loli is a princess? And a fan? Doesn't matter, since we are alive after all...

As I was thinking to myself the cheerful youth raised his head and said, "Lord why didn't you save those people there...??"

The cheerful boy seemed angry, but the loli shushed him up and interrupted, "Shut up Leonard, It is not our place to ask!" She then turned towards the man and said, " I am extremely sorry about my subordinate. Please forgive him, my lord"

The cheerful boy named Leonard quietened down unwillingly. But if you think about it, he's not wrong. If this guy had the power and ability to save others, why did he choose to just escape and not save lives?

I looked towards the man waiting for his response. The man was still lazily sitting on the shabby wooden bench in his black windbreaker. We were already in space and a mysterious bubble was shielding us. The starlight fell on his making him look holy and immaculate. some kind of distant beauty.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked towards Leonard.

"Why..." He said in an emotionless monotonous voice, " Why should I save them?"

The cheerful boy had become angry, "Because you are powerful. You have the power to save everyone, but you chose not to. How can you be so selfish?"

"Selfish?" The man repeated thoughtfully and a smile formed on his face. He stood up abruptly from his seat and pointed in the direction forward.

I looked forward. There was a small dot in front of us glowing and slowly growing larger. The manta ray was heading straight towards it. I could feel my nonexistent heart beating faster at the sight of it. Don't tell me he wants to kill us all because some idiot questioned him...

No way! I just died once! It was enough for the day!

The manta ray came closer and closer to the dot. And soon collided with it. The world changed colours and the scenery changed. Instead of the starry sky, I was greeted with vibrant colours of green.

The world around me had changed to that of a field of flowers.

Teleportation?

Just like me, everyone else was also shocked at the sight before them.

The manta ray kept flying forward confidently, even without a tamer. Soon we saw a castle in front of us. Time passed quietly as we got closer and closer. Soon as I was close enough, I could read a huge board on the castle gates 'Academy of Undead".

The manta ray stopped before the gate in a parking area. There were many other manta rays just like the transportation area.

Lord Tom Wraith got down and started walking towards the academy gates.

"It's every man... Errr.. ghost for himself on the battlefield." The man calmly said. I was honestly the first time I heard him hesitate.

So he didn't save them because of such a reason?

What do you guys think? Should one help those weaker than them just because they can? Just because its morally right?
