The Thrilling Flight!

Why did the scenery change from that of beautiful fantasy to a horror-thriller action movie in the matter of a few seconds?

As all the passengers on the manta ray were looking at the blazing manta ray besides ours, we heard more explosions. Some closer to us and some farther away. The one thing they had in common, was the purplish-blue flame which incinerated everything on its way, leaving behind, only the smell of burnt fish and a mummified corpse.

I had been afraid of a lot of things in my life, and being burnt to death by hellish fire was now on the top of my list since I might not even leave behind a mummified corpse.

I looked around at the previously picturesque landscape, only to discover that many others were being bombed similarly and the flames just seemed to be appearing out of thin air. It was as if they just sucked the life out of whatever they touched making me tremble in my nonexistent body.

Wherever my gaze fell was only a picture of pain and chaos. The fireballs just kept falling out on people without a pause.

The scene of destruction would be imprinted on my mind for a long time. As a person from the earth, I never had the misfortune to experience such a scenario except for in movies or some wars in some distant countries. This shocking experience seemed to make me realize that I am no longer on earth. And I may die anytime if I am not careful enough.

I moved my gaze to a distance only to see this another horrifying reality in front of me.

The land beasts and manta rays which were unlucky enough to not die when they got hit, were writhing around on the grass in pain as the flame slowly consumed them leaving behind a mummified corpse. Even the grass surrounding them was not spared.

The flame was spreading fast, by this time, some quick-witted people had regained their composure.

"Quick! To the building"

A person who looked like a mixture of both a rabbit and a human shouted pulling me and others out of out trance-like state before. He looked just like an average handsome human mage, if not for the rabbit head and adorable red eyes.

The rabbit man, dressed in bright red mage robes adorned with shining amulets and accessories, and also controlling a ferocious-looking manta ray bravely lead everyone still alive towards the building. He warded off a few fireballs aiming at those in the small party he was leading with a magnificent shield spell. We too followed him and moved fast.

"Don't worry! I will protect everyone!"

The rabbit man heroically declared.

He reminded one of some protagonists of some action movies.

The beast tamer of Dragon, the pink manta ray also acted quickly without any delay and commanded it towards the Main Offices shining golden building. Perhaps because the commotion was too great, or maybe we were just unlucky, the attacks which were previously random, seemed to be aiming for us.

But a huge fireball manifested out of thin ar and burnt, both the manta ray and the rabbit man into a desiccated corpse. Those who were following him pause. Except for the brave pink Dragon.

Even when the beast tamer who was wailing in front of us was useless, Dragon evaded the flames and flew quickly towards the entrance of the building. The smaller frame probably let it fly faster than the other manta rays which were bigger and stronger than it.

Soon the attack seemed to aim at our group.

With a manoeuvre which felt like a rollercoaster ride, Dragon evaded all of the fireballs and was inching closer and closer to the entrance of the building. The assailants seemed to be unable to affect this boisterous looking golden building as not a single fireball could harm it.

The group of elves on Dragon were in a much better state than the beast tamer. The loli was the most composed of them all. The two boys who were sitting on either side of her were doing their best to protect her. The other female elf seemed to have some expertise in medicine as she was taking care of the unconscious beast tamer. And the remaining boy, who I previously thought was an elf was sitting there without any change in his emotions.

Now that I think more about it, ever since the boy came here with the group, I had been subconsciously neglecting him. I even failed to notice that he was not an elf at all and he just looked like a normal human.

He casually looked back at me startling me.

Those other kids didn't know that I was here since I was invisible and I didn't bother to speak. But he seemed to be able to see me just like those people from the main office. And what was with the calm attitude as if he was on a calm bus ride on a country road.

As I was ruminating over the handsome boy clad in black with an Asian ethnic appearance, something seemed to have happened.

I was almost thrown off Dragon, as it came to a sudden halt.

I looked around and finally spotted the source of this new development. Some guy in the black hood was floating in the air in front of us. There were a few familiar looking balls of flame floating around him slowly, just like the moon revolves around the earth.

Even though we escaped previous attacks, they were not really aimed at us. The man clad in black seemed to be determined to prevent us from passing through.

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

An earth-shattering roar resounded all across the transportation area. The man in front of us looked in a direction and disappeared. Just as we were rejoicing, More of such roars resounded across the sky.

I looked back towards the source of the roar.

The scene made me feel light-headed.

They were dragons!!!!!!!!!! Real dragons that looked like T-rex with huge wings, the only difference was They were not that healthy.

They were just skeletons.... or to say bone dragons!!!

Since the obstacle blocking us had already disappeared, Dragon moved towards the entrance of the building.

but

We couldn't enter.

I looked around only to discover there seemed to be some an invisible wall in front of us. The man in black let us not because he was letting us go, but because he knew we couldn't escape.

We couldn't take shelter in the building. We were defencelessly waiting to be slaughtered. The furious roars of the bone dragon reverberated in the background tensing the already depressing atmosphere.

I looked towards the group of dragons which were entering from the hole like structure in the sky. Soon I discovered that all of them seemed to be pulling huge chains. The chains itself were already as big as a manta ray.

Soon I could see what they were pulling. It was an orb!

It was a ring-like structure that was surrounding the orb. The chains were attached to the ring-like structure in the middle of which the orb was floating. The orb was black. It almost seemed like a black hole. Black lames were surrounding the orb and the ring-like structure seemed to be able to prevent it from spreading.

Soon the group of bone dragons seemed to have met their first obstacle.

They halted their advance as they were blocked by a man floating in front of them. One can almost overlook him because of such a great disparity in size. Like an ant before a human. But since I was a ghost and wasn't limited by my physical capabilities, I could see clearly what was going on.

It was a caucasian blonde man with a lean physique, dressed in a well fitted white suit. His face could only be described as beautiful.

Soon a few other figures appeared beside him. I recognized one of them. It was the director of the research department.

They were directly facing off against huge dragons which were multiple times larger than them.

This chapter was rewritten multiple times because my poor perfectionist heart couldn't stop hurting. T~T

Still I posted it since I would have just kept on editing if I didn't post it soon..
