Mission II

A devilish creature walked out of the darkness like a General from hell. It's fat and stout body was reddish brown like copper.

On its face were 6 eyeballs that glared towards the Kenshin and rested on Ieiri's figure lewdly and a long day snout from which smoke with a foul stench emanated.

It's arms were wrapped in a bony armor, which glowed with a metallic sheen.

"Okay, it's ugly alright..." Getting up and patting his bottom with a lazy expression Kenshin brandished his three piece black cudgel, hoisting it onto his shoulders while flashing a small smile.

"It seems to like you Ieiri..." Seeing lascivious glare on Ieiri's figure Kenshin commented, as Ieiri glared at him in fury.

*MOthEr WiLL LikE YoU!!!*

Letting out a seemingly excited chuckle, the beast waved its hand, summoning hordes of devils from out of the shadows.

"Ieiri, is it just me or do all cursed spirits have a great sense of togetherness? Like every time I go on a mission, I encounter cursed spirits in hordes...is it normal?"

Rubbing his chin, Kenshin spoke with a scrunch of his eyebrows while Ieiri held back her laughter.

"The weaker cursed spirits always attack in hordes. How else would they hope to overpower someone as strong as you.."

Brandishing her blades, Ieiri's expression turned fierce all of a sudden, before her cursed energy.

"Silver!"

Let out a small snort, Kenshin summoned the lazy silver wolf from its Domain it reappeared beside Ieiri in a normal form, and bared it's teeth seeing the dozens of cursed spirits that were about to attack.

"Protect her...I'm going after the big guy..."

"Hey wai-"

Ieiri wanted to stop him, about to warn him of the danger but before she could even speak, he hurled himself into the skies with an explosive force, directly bypassing the horde of cursed spirits with a corskscrew flip and landed before the oni warrior.

Holding the two ends of his three sectioned cudgel he got into a stance and let out a mocking smile.

Sensing the ridicule from its opponent, the oni let out an angry screech, before multiple large bone spikes erupted from within its palms and shot towards Kenshin.

'Can manipulate bones within its body? Interesting ability...'

Blasting forward with extreme speeds, Kenshin leapt into the skies with a jump and descended with a full overhead of the staff, backed by immense power and explosive force.

Manipulating more of its bones to move out of its body, the bones coalesced into a large shield above the head of the oni. Clearly it was extremely intelligent compared to other cursed spirits Kenshin had come into contact with.

However, the power backed behind Kenshin's attack was no joke. The cudgel blasted through the bone shield as if it were made out of paper, before it smashed into the body of the shocked oni warrior.

*BANG!*

Its body was almost buried into the ground, however its body turned into smoke and vanished at the last moment, causing Kenshin's cudgel to smash the ground ripping through it instantly.

Meanwhile, Ieiri and Silver made quick work of the weaker cursed spirits. Although she did not specialize in combat, Ieiri proved to live up to the hype of being a second grade sorcerer, cleaving through bodies left and right with the twin swords in her hands.

Silver being Silver we completely annoyed at the fact that Kenshin had woken it up from a nap and channeled all that wrath into utterly destroying the cursed spirits before it.

Materializing a few meters away from Kenshin, the oni reappeared but with a broken arm from which blood continuously dripped from.

If it had not had escaped from that attack at the last moment, an arm wouldn't have been the only thing it would've lost.

It's face was contorted into a wrathful expression, as it glared at Kenshin who was just simply smiling at the spirit wondering what it was going to do next.

*ROARRR!!!*

Opening its maw wide, a sphere of destructive cursed energy materialized and blasted towards Kenshin with immense force, ripping apart everything in its path.

Pouring cursed energy into the cudgel, he willed it to shift from the three sectioned form into a normal cudgel, and willed it again to spin before him like a wheel.

*BANG!*

The beam of cursed energy smashed into the wheel, cracking the very ground below Kenshin's feet, however he was unmoved.

Pouring even more cursed energy into the cudgel, he hurled it in its spinning form towards the oni and willed it to expand. Like a large Ferris wheel spinning at immense speeds, it blasted towards the oni, but it turned itself illusionary and disappeared like a wisp of smoke from the incoming attack.

Meanwhile, the large spinning Ferris wheel nearly ripped apart half of the temple, but Kenshin was able to retract it in time.

Seeing it had no chance of defeating its opponents, it launched a last ditch attack, shooting out a rather massive sphere of cursed energy from its mouth.

However this time, it wasn't aimed towards Kenshin, but an unsuspecting Ieiri.

Kenshin was about to move, seeing the attack blast towards the shocked young lady with unreasonable destructive force, however Silver reacted quickly.

Opening its maw, a large beam of wind energies materialized and blasted forth with unwavering momentum, ripping through the energy beam in an instant.

"Thanks buddy..."

Wiping off a drop of sweat from her cheek, Ieiri began to rub and pet the lazy wolf as it looked towards Kenshin with a smug look and enjoyed Ieiri's gentle rubs.

Meanwhile, Kenshin couldn't help but frown, seeing the Oni disappear in a puff of smoke and flash into the distance.

"Oi, we gotta go after it. It would lead us to the other cursed spirits or take us to its lair..."

Wasting no time, Kenshin hurled himself forward with immense speeds and chased after the oni.

Climbing onto Silver's back, Ieiri sat comfortably, as the wolf exploded forth with immense speeds as they chased after Kenshin's rapidly disappearing silhouette.
