8 First Real Fight

On a seemingly ordinary day, Basara was getting water from the river.

"Did someone drown?" Basara looked in worry as he found a naked body floating above the stream.

Basara jumped down to save the person. Unbeknownst to him that person was already dead, as he dragged it onshore.

But soon jumped back a little as he had realized that he just pulled a corpse. Now he had the urge to puke to the side.

"Who could've done such a thing!?" He grimaced as he immediately went back and informed his father about the situation.

Basara explained what he had accidentally discovered in the river to Jin, and by chance to Bismarck as well.

"Hmmm?" Bismarck looked at the corpse finding a familiar pendant on her.

"She's... Celia."

"You know her?" Jin asked Bismarck who seemed to know the victim.

"Of course I do. I've slept with her just yesterday." He sounded confused, as to how these small swallow cuts killed her. They thought that she got poisoned, but there were no traces of it and concluded that she had drowned herself in the river and the cuts were from the sharp rocks.

"You slept with her!? I thought you were only interested in older women." Jin said surprised tone.

"Of course I do. But, I was certain that she was the one I slept with." He pointed at the pendant on her neck.

"I see... I see it now. She's a succubus..." Jin said in a serious tone as he saw a slightly visible demon crest on her body. And how did she even manage to sneak inside the barrier?

"A succubus? How did she get in?" Basara curiously asked.

"Someone probably assisted her to get inside," Bismarck said seriously as he didn't know the reason. Not to mention, he fell for her tricks.

"Should we tell the elders about it?" Jin asked the old man's opinion.

"Uh, no. We shouldn't. It would alert the person who sneaked her in." He replied. He also wanted to find the person who had killed the chick and thank him for dealing with it quietly, though dumping the corpse in the river was a bad move, and hoped that he had burnt or buried the body somewhere else.

Bismarck immediately burnt Celia's body to ashes.

"By the way where's Otto? I haven't seen him this morning." Basara spoke.

"Now that you mention it he still hasn't come back ." The old man said. He wasn't that worried about him as he was strong and could manage anything trivial that came his way.

The only thing he was worried about Otto was whether or not his enemy managed to piss him off. Bismarck could see it in Otto's eyes which showed the look of indifference to others.

There was also a time when he almost killed one of the maids he said the reason was because she looked at him the wrong way. Otto added that it wasn't a good idea to look at him that way. Which terrified the maids from that onward, but some were reluctant to listen.

"Oh, I forgot about that... I think he's camping in the woods." Jin forgot to invite Otto to his house after their spar last night.

"Why though? I'm certain that he wasn't the kind to camp out in the woods." Bismarck was oblivious to the reason.

"The kid said he didn't like the smell of semen on your place, so he left," Jin answered him bluntly, making Bismarck just scratch his head. He's fully aware that Otto is always so finicky about his surroundings, that it is becoming ridiculous to deal with.

-Back to Otto's location-

"Hello, nice to meet you once again Miss Chisato." Otto looked at her who was staring at him sitting in his usual spot.

"I figured that I would find you here.." She said.

"So is there something you need of me this time?" Why did a woman like her want from me, he didn't wish to associate with the gods this early just yet.

"You're the one who killed the woman right?"

"What are you talking about?" He acted dumb in an obvious way.

"Calia, that was her name. Her corpse was carried by the river current before Basara found it." She explained while glaring at Otto, who kept his usual smile.

"You're so hostile Miss Chisato. What's wrong with me killing a succubus who had a malicious intention towards me? And besides aren't they your kind's enemy?" Otto was certain that Demons or Devils were their enemy, I mean it's only logical to think that right? Angels fight devils, like black and white. Opposites duh.

"No, the war is already over... There is no need to kill them." Chisato felt uncomfortable about it, as she too is also unsure of it.

"An ongoing war or not, the fact that she tried to kill me doesn't change. If I hesitated, it could lead to my death."

"You seem to oddly care about the death of a succubus, Miss Chisato."

"I don't, it's just that Basara had seen the corpse..." She replied in a low voice.

"Mmmmm... Is that so? Then that's not my problem, because someday he would be expecting to see more corpses. Whether he liked it or not." He was 40% certain that Basara was banished in the original, along with his father, and eventually lived in the city. Not sure about the reason for their banishment though.

"If that's all, then you should leave me alone." Otto closed his eyes, before completely falling asleep. He knows that Chisato wouldn't dare to use this chance to kill him.

"What a strange kid..." She muttered trying to not wake Otto. She sat from the distance and continued to observe him.

-Hero's Village-

"Seriously where the hell is Otto!?" Bismarck was trying to find him all over the village.

"There's no way right?" He thought of the words Jin said earlier as a joke, about Otto camping in the forest.

"Is there something wrong Uncle Bismarck?" Basara, Yuki, Kurumi, Celis, and a new kid named Takashi saw the old man who looked troubled.

"It's nothing... Hmm? Ah. Are you all busy?" Bismarck looked at them and thought of a great idea.

"Huh? No?"

"How about you find Otto in the forest for me? It's about time he'd get a weapon in the sanctuary."

"What do you want old man." Otto suddenly appeared behind them.

"Well, never mind..." Bismarck looked at Otto who was still wearing expensive clothes.

"Where did you get those clothes?" He didn't remember Otto packing them.

"Besides the point. What do you need me for? I only heard something with the sanctuary." He replied, making the others think of him as some kind of a spoiled brat.

"Yes, we're going to get your weapon at the sanctuary, boy." Bismarck urged Otto to follow him and Basara's friends, as they went toward the place

"Hey, what kind of weapon do you think this Otto guy gonna pick?" Takashi whispered to his friends, He currently doesn't have any opinions about Otto aside from he's a pervert as he heard from the girls.

"Hmph, like we care." The girls scoffed.

"I heard father and Uncle Bismarck talking about him taking Brynhildr," Basara answered.

"WHAT!?"

"There's no way that pervert would get permission to wield Brynhildr!" Celis stated.

"I mean he's really strong... He even defeated you three bare-handed." Basara pointed it out making them frown.

"We're here," Bismarck muttered as several elders assessed Otto.

Sensing their gaze, Otto didn't like it one bit.

"What you looking at?" Otto shot a glare at them. This prompted Basara and his friends to hush him up as he was disrespecting the elders of the Hero clan.

"This brat is going to be your successor?" Some elders didn't like Otto just from the first impression he showed.

"Yup." Bismarck didn't care whether or not they accepted him. He still has the final word of it.

"And you're saying this brat has what it takes to take Byrnhildr!?" One of the angry elders shouted as he disagreed with this rude kid claiming Brynhildr.

"Yup, right on the mark." He smirked.

Otto here doesn't seem to know the value of Brynhildr as he only views it as some kind of a sword that just corrupts the mind of the user and that it is strong. He didn't take the strong part seriously as he already had the one-cut kill sword, Murasame. And believed that no sword here could replace it. Unless there was a sword that could rip time and space.

'Hmmm. Is this Brynhildr the one I'm looking for?' Otto thought skeptically.

"Then the boy will need to prove himself if he's the sword of it. By defeating one of the elders." One of the elders spoke.

"What!?" Bismarck complained as this was the first time they told someone let alone a kid to beat them before they had permission to try Brynhildr.

"This is insane," Takashi muttered in a low voice, to not show imprudence to the elders.

"Well, he's is screwed. Hmph." Yuki wanted someone to show Otto his place.

"A fight? Beat any of you?" Otto looked at all of them as it was his turn to evaluate them.

"Are you all sure you old fogies can beat me? You might as well get yourselves a wheelchair as a handicap later on." He mocked the elders.

"Oh, and how about this? You all come at me." He crooked his index finger at them.

"This brat..." Most of them were already annoyed by the kid but didn't act as if it was way below for them to gang up on a kid. Not to mention Bismarck was here.

"You." Otto pointed at the muscular old man.

"You seem healthier than these malnourished old men. Come, I choose to fight you." The muscular old man with blond hair stepped down.

"My name is Budo Daishogun. Also known as the master of lightning." He boasted.

"I am Otto Apocalypse, The Aufseher Der Schicksal." Otto introduced. Bismarck on the side grimaced at how cringe it was as he knew what it meant.

Since Otto our protagonist, had the same name and appearance as Otto from Honkai he might as well take inspiration from Honkai Otto.

"Go and pick your weapon boy," Budo ordered the servants to show him several weapons of all kinds.

Otto picked up the steel staff on the rack.

"Oi, are you serious? He uses lightning." Bismarck looked at him.

"I know duh." Otto shrugged at the old man as if he was going to test something.

"You're not playing smart here boy." Budo chose a pair of gauntlets, and sparks of lightning came out from it.

Budo charged forth, as he was about to throw a right hook at Otto.
