Chapter 17

I opened my eyes to find myself in my room. I got into a sitting position and looked around the room to be surprised by seeing Rangiku who was sitting on a chair next to my bed. She was sleeping. She looked relaxed and so defenseless that I almost jumped on her but unfortunately my body started hurting pretty badly.

I winced because of the pain and this woke her up. She yawned and then looked at me with excitement oozing from her eyes and she jumped on me.

"You're awake, thank god"she said as she was hugging me then she noticed me wincing. She quickly pulled herself from me while blushing madly.

"Sorry..." she said awkwardly as she avoided my eyes by looking away.

"I'm okay" I replied as I ignored the pain my body was in.

Her face then did a 180 from being embarrassed to being worried and slightly angry.

"What were you thinking fighting an adjucha of that level on your own" she asked as she clearly held herself from smacking my head.

"Don't worry, it's not like lost or died so really don't worry" I said as I forced a laugh.

Tears started falling down her cheeks, as she hugged me again but this time more gently.

"What are said you got hurt. If I lost you I don't know what I would do?" She managed to say in between her sobs.

My male mindset immediately yelled to me, "Chance!!!!". I immediately knew what it meant and I instantly used this situation to my advantage. I grabbed her shoulders and pulled her in forced a kiss.

She was clearly surprised by this but she did not pull away so I also didn't.

The door suddenly opened and we jumped apart. Yoruichi was standing at the door with a mischievous smile.

"So you're having fun without me, huh" she teased and we both blushed like crazy. Rangiku got up and ran through the opened door leaving me and Yoruichi alone.

"So who made the first move?"she asked with a smile on her face making me go a deeper shade of red.

"Just go and die!" I shouted as I grabbed a pillow and threw it her ignoring the pain even further. She dodged the pillow and walked to the chair and sat down. She then pushed me forcing me into a sleeping position.

"Your pain resistance is impressive, but you do need to rest." She said

"How long was I out for and what about the hollow" I asked as my face returned to its normal color.

"You were out for a full day and that hollow didn't survive your last attack." She said calmly as she observed my reaction.

I just sighed then looked at the ceiling.

"Is that so, if only I didn't underestimate that hollow" I said as I relaxed myself.

"At least you learned something" she said as she stood up. Then she swiftly leaned towards me and kissed me on the lips.

"Now that you have a girlfriend, don't forget about me" she said as winked and disappeared.

'What have I gotten myself into' I thought as I closed my eyes.
