Chapter 27

Chapter 27

Jamie came to meetings just like the plan and Kun was still cold to him. He took it as an everyday occurrence besides, Jamie is having fun for not doing anything. Kun never sends him on an errand again after that crazy deal with Jack.

Dragon is considering the renewal of the contract but Jamie wanted to propose new rules but then he kept his mouth shut. He is not part of Dragon and that will remain as it is.

It was a sunny afternoon when Jamie went to a coffee shop and ordered matcha. It was only the next block from his hotel. Kun and Gino are busy with another deal which Jamie has no business with.

He stays at the coffee shop with a cozy ambiance. The interior is kinda cute because of the sorcerer themes. There are some witch aesthetics on the corner wall adding the unique utensils used in beverages. Jamie enjoys this kind of space, there are also white roses. He only sees this on social media when Bela messages him.

Bela is still busy in Korea and she sometimes asks for Jamie's welfare. Jamie told her that he was having a vacation but they both knew it wasn't. He was seated near the glass wall because Jamie is interested in watching people busy with uneven stares in their day. He also notices some students at the intersection and Jamie is not dense nor dumb not knowing what those folks are doing. He sighs and stands up leaving his drink at the table.

Jamie watches them bring the kid to the isolated area across from the street. There were four men and one guy who was wearing glasses and had no expression on his face. He looked done but ignored how a pink-haired guy gripped the collar of his uniform.

"Yah punk! Give me money." Pink hair dude said and laughed mockingly.

Jamie watches them while he is on his phone calling for a cop. He utters the address before hanging up and just leans at the wall of the building. This place is deserted and has no hint of life. Another fellow took a cigarette from his pocket and laughed when the pink dude, the glasses boy, was shoved on the pavement.

He was about to slap him but Jamie yawned. The police were late but he hope they come quickly because Jamie cannot deal with these fuck up teenagers who he thinks not far from his age. Bunch of repeaters, he must say.

"Fuck! Who the fuck are you?" The leader asked and looked at Jamie from head to toe. He is wearing a very expensive polo today and Jamie is very proud of his fashion.

"Lost." He said in broken Japanese and shrugged his shoulders.

"Okay. Money... Do you know money?" The leader punk asked again. Jamie nodded his head and attempted to take bills from his pocket. Jamie didn't bring any purses because the shop was nearby. He took 50,000 yen and showed it to them.

"Give me money... I'll tell you the way." He said again, there is a glint of greediness in his eyes, and of course who will in their right mind believe a punk kid who stores money on the street? Jamie almost rolls his eyes.

Jamie sees the glasses guy frown at him, looking as if he pitied Jamie or maybe he thought he was dumb for believing the untrustworthy guy.

Jamie's big eyes focused and pointed to the boy with glasses. Trying to ask about him. The leader punk just shrugged his shoulders as he grabbed the money from Jamie's palm.

"Lucky!" He murmured. He went to the boy and grab his uniform again and whispered,

"See you tomorrow."

Jamie is getting interviewed because of the punks he saw in the street. The police seem irritated that Jamie reported the incident and took the boys to the cell. They will stay there until their guardian will pick them up. Jamie is with the glasses guy who is still mute. Jamie was the one who talked to the officer, ignoring him for 30 minutes before taking his ID and filing a report. They left after a while.

"I'll bring you home," Jamie told him and surveyed for a taxi. The glasses guy ignored him but Jamie didn't mind.

"Thank you." He mumbled humbly. Jamie smirked, "Are you?" Jamie sees the boy's expression change.

"They will come back again. You only make my life more miserable." The boy tells, with controlled anger. He grabs his backpack while the taxi comes and stops in front of them.

"You don't-..." Jamie pushed him inside and they were seated in the backseat. The boy says a neighborhood not far from their location. Jamie is humming until the boy glances at him.

"I help you because I was bullied too or let's say this guy with me," Jamie says incoherently.

"Your friend?" He asked curiously.

"Nope. Nevertheless, we stay together now. I have no choice, you know." Jamie mumbled again and looked out the window to watch the streets.

"He must be suck." The glasses guy said again.

"Yup! It was annoying."

"But you don't have to help me because I am hopeless." The glasses guy whispered, bringing back the tears that were about to fall.

They stop at the rundown apartment but Jamie hasn't let go of him yet. He asked him to hang out in the nearest convenience store. The boy frowns at him and seems to distrust Jamie but he is a man of will.

Jamie is eating noodles while the boy is now drinking banana milk. He looked peaceful now unlike the stiff boy earlier, he was also not pale anymore, his honey skin tone just sat right to Jamie.

"Tell me where your parents are?" Jamie asked but the boy only sighed at his attempt at conversation.

"I knew you're a strange man Mister." The glasses boy rolls his eyes but Jamie ignores him and nods his head. He agrees though so what's the problem?

"My mom died when I was six. My father is an asshole who torments me because he was an alcoholic and violent." He said and came back to drink his banana milk.

"So sad," Jamie says apathetically. Glasses boy only shrugged his shoulders.

"Do you have a dream?" Jamie asked again, this time he was seriously asking the boy. His voice changes and maybe the boy gets his shift and answers him with equal seriousness.

"I have."

"Do you want to work for me?" Jamie has never been impulsive but this boy got an aura that Jamie was incredulously tugging him closed. He never felt this nostalgic before but maybe this boy will help him in the future.

"How much?" The boy grinned and Jamie rolled his eyes but smirked too.
