Here Comes Trouble

Beads of sweat form on Jimin's forehead as he runs as far as his legs could possibly carry him. The adrenaline coursing through his veins masks over the pain that's originating from his wounds. Salty water drips down his cheek, not really knowing if it's tears or his sweat.

Further and further away from the town, getting deeper into the forest that surrounds his forsaken town. Reaching the mountain is no longer is his destination. Instead, he heads to the thrashing river that splits the woods. In the distance, he hears the rapids. He's close.

When Jimin finally reaches the river, he stops and slumps over, trying to catch his breath. He breathes in, and when he breathes out, he stumbles on the ground. The pain from his leg starts to catch up with him. Jimin curses and winces in pain. He unravels the bloody gauze & makes a face in disgust.

"That's one nasty cut you got there." Jimin jumps at the voice & looks around, searching for the owner.

"Up here, buddy." The deep voice calls out from a nearby tree. Jimin turns & sees a rather handsome man on the branch.

"W-who are you?" Jimin asks the mystery man as the man jumps from his perch. The man just offers a grin while he runs his fingers through his hair. Jimin can't help but stare.

"I'm no one of particular interest." The man teases, walking close to Jimin.

"However, I do love to know who you are." Jimin blushes at the man, avoiding eye contact but then looking back at him with a shy smile.

"M-my name is Jimin."

"Ooh, what a lovely name. You must be the typical town hottie, am I right?" The man grins again, winking this time. Jimin can't help but blush at the comments of the man; he's never felt so- wanted. In response to the man's efforts of flirting, Jimin just shakes his head with an innocent smile.

Pretending to be taken back by the response, the man clutches his chest, "You're lying!"

"A beauty like you should be cherished and protected at all costs!" The man bows and offers a hand to Jimin, who's still on the ground, "Please, allow me to help an angel such as yourself."

Jimin gladly takes the stranger's hand, with little to hesitation at all. When the stranger brings Jimin up, he brings him up so close that Jimin feels the breath of the stranger on him. Jimin looks up to see that the stranger is staring at him with an odd desire in his eyes.

"My, you're much cuter up close." The strange man says softly in his deep voice.

Unaware of the man's intentions, Jimin smiles and takes a step back, "T-thank you for -um- helping me up."

"Don't mention it, sweets. But don't mind me asking, why are you all the way out here?"

There's a slight delay in Jimin's response, but he snaps out of it before the man could notice, "I just had to getaway. That's all."

The man shrugs "Family trouble?" Jimin nods in response, looking down at his feet as if ashamed. "Ah, I know how that feels. Never feel like you're good enough, huh?" The man pokes at Jimin's emotions, but Jimin remains silent and nods accordingly.

"Don't you worry sweets. I bet all your problems will go away soon." A sly grin stretches across the man's face, "Very soon."

Back at Yoongi's infirmary, there's an awkward silence between the three; Jin, Yoongi, & Jungkook. None of them want to address the situation that they had all just witnessed. It's been a decent few minutes since Jimin fled the building & his father is still standing in awe. His very well-being shattered and stepped on by his own son. He looks over at Yoongi and Jungkook, both of them sitting at the table staring back at him.

"Yoongi... am-am I that terrible of a father?" He asks lowly, eyes averting to the ground. "Am I really that blind to see the pain of my own son?" He continues; there's no answer from Yoongi, just a sound of a chair pushing back and footsteps walking towards him.

A familiar, firm hand places itself on Jin's broad shoulder, "You've been my friend for years Jin, hell, we're even family Jin, and I've helped you raise Jimin when- when Y-Yuna passed." Saying the name of his late sister gave him a sour taste in his mouth. He hadn't mentioned her name in so long; he almost forgot what it sounded like.

Yuna, Park Yuna.

The mother of Park Jimin, the loving wife of Park Seokjin, and the older sister of Min Yoongi. This beautiful soul trapped in a human's body meant the entire world to the three men in her life. Everyone in town adored her, often more than the Priest himself. But that was okay. Yuna was a compassionate, kind-hearted, forgiving, and the most down to earth person you'd ever meet.

Then when she passed, the worlds of the three men flipped upside down. It'd be wrong to try to debate who was more affected by her sudden passing. For the most part, Yoongi kept to himself after his sister died. He indulged himself in work, not once giving himself a single day of rest. He'd continuously blame himself for his sister's passing. Because he was a doctor, he should've done something to help her. Something, anything. But there was no answer to the haunting question, what caused her death?

He ran multiple tests in hopes of finding any kind of diagnosis. But her conditions were beyond him. Day by day, Yuna was becoming weaker and less like her usual self. It came to the point where Yuna was delusional. At night, she'd wake up screaming from pain and blaming the strain on her husband, Jin.

"It burns! Why does it burn!?" She'd scream, pushing the blankets off of her.

"Y-Yuna! What's the matter, darling?!" Jin would reach out to her, but his wife would swat his hand away and avert her screaming from the pain to her husband.

"G-get away from me!" She'd scream at him with tears running down her face.

Not long after the initial scream, Jimin would knock on his parent's door, calling out to them, "Mother? Father? Are you okay?"

No response.

The sound of Jimin's voice snapped Yuna back to reality, away from her insanity. Nights like this became more and more frequent to the point where Yuna suggested sleeping in different rooms. The existence of her condition broke Jin's heart; he just didn't know what to do. The love he has for his wife was strong, so whatever she wished for, he'd grant it.

Regardless of whether or not Yuna's wishes were breaking his heart.

Jin just couldn't tell her, "No."

So, when the day she decided to end, not just her suffering, but the suffering of her beloved family and her brother. No matter how badly Jimin screamed and cursed at his father, no matter how desperately Yoongi was to cure her.

Jin just couldn't tell her, "No."

The ultimate decision regarding Yuna and her fate bled guilty on the hands of her husband, none other the priest himself, Jin. After the fact, Jimin began resenting his father. Their once-close relationship severed into pieces, and a flower of hatred began to bloom within Jimin. Even Yoongi, the brother-in-law of Jin, was growing far apart from him as well. The relationships Jin treasured the most was close to nothing. But in those times of grief, one would think they'd need each other the most. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Walking around with a heavy heart, but a duty to his town and his people, the Priest, continued his life as though it wasn't scattered mess. He led on with a smile that hid many flaws; he hid so well that the lies he fed became the truth he indulged.

Years passed, and the fake smile that the Priest wore became a mask that plastered itself onto him, every lie he whispered to himself every morning grew into a disgusting truth that seemed so surreal. He lost his wife, which in the process, he lost his son and his brother-in-law. It pained Jin so much that he grew numb in the process. So, numb to the point where he didn't even see the pain and hatred that bloomed furiously within his own flesh and blood, Jimin.

Now here they are, father and son divided yet again.

After hearing his late wife's name slip through pass Yoongi's lips, Jin could feel his heart wanting to stop beating. He tried so hard to choke back the tears, but his efforts failed him. Yoongi notices the stray tear trailing Jin's face, but he quickly turns away.

"I-I'm sorry, Jin. I didn't mean to say her name..." Yoongi apologizes softly as he faces away from Jin, avoiding eye contact at all costs.

"It's fine, Yoongi. Um. I have to look for Jimin..." Jin stares at the doorway, but then Jungkook, who's been silent, stands up & volunteers.

"I'll go look for him, Priest." He bows quickly and scurries out the door before anyone could object.

The two older men watch him leave, and Yoongi curiously asks, "He seems sweet. Why does Jimin hate him so much?"

Jin shrugs with a distant look, "I don't know Yoongi. I don't know."

Desperate to leave the presence of the Priest & the Doctor, Jungkook hurries out of town. He looks up at the mountain & within seconds, he's on the cliff. But surprised to see that Jimin is nowhere to be found. He curses under his breath as he scans the area from above.

"Fuck, Jimin. Where are you?" His eyes search for the boy with no luck at all. He walks again & this time in a different part of the forest. He wanders aimlessly for almost an hour, disappearing & reappearing in different parts of the woods. He stops when he hears a familiar laugh. Giggles and splashes of water originate from the riverside, Jungkook quickens his pace and slaps himself silly for not thinking of the river. Without realizing it, he full-on runs past the trees. He can feel his heartbeat against his chest, but he pays no mind. The noises around him start to fade, and all he hears is the laughter that haunts his mind and his own heavy breathing as he runs closer to the river. Once he gets to the last portion of the forest, he stops at the sight of Jimin, who has a broad smile that quickly falters.

"Jungkook? What are you doing here, and why do you look like you just ran a marathon?" Jimin tilts his head in confusion, then the mystery man that Jimin aquatinted also notices Jungkook, a devilish grin stretches across his face.

Ignoring Jimin's question, Jungkook averts his attention to the man, his fists ball up, and his jaw clenched at sight.

"Taehyung..." He says between his teeth.

"Well, hello there br- "Taehyung begins to speak with open arms, but before he could finish his sentence, Jungkook rushes towards him, pushing him down and raising a fist in the arm, preparing for impact. Taehyung doesn't even flinch. Instead, he lets out a low chuckle as he smirks.

"You wouldn't dare to punch me, Kookie." Taehyung teases, but Jungkook doesn't let his guard down.

"Don't test me, Tae." Jungkook's fist still hanging above Taehyung, threatening to go for the blow.

That is until Jimin screeches out, "Jungkook stop!"

The red eyes that spelled out Taehyung's fate turn back to a typical brown & glares at Jimin, "Stay out of it, Jimin. What the hell are you even doing out in the river?!"

"He was spending some quality time with me." Taehyung teases again & Jungkook's fist came close to his face. A pair of hands, smaller than Jungkook's, attempt to pry Jungkook's large body from Taehyung.

"Jungkook, stop it! He's my friend, don't hurt him!" Jimin pleas and he's given another cold glare from Jungkook.

"A friend? Since when?!" Jungkook's rage boils inside him. Taehyung is no help to the situation, of course, no surprise. He grins, bringing his legs up from under Jungkook and pushes his brother from him.

"Since an hour ago, Kookie." Taehyung brushes the dirt off him and smirks at his younger.

Jungkook growls, and Jimin looks confused.

"H-how do you know each other?" Jimin's curiosity breaking the immense silence between the two brothers.

"It's none of your business Jimin. Now get back home before I make you." Jungkook snaps, breaking the eye contact with his smirking brother, just to look at Jimin with a glare. Jimin, however, is unfazed at this point with the constant death glares. He crosses his arms & pouts.

'Cute.' Taehyung thought to himself as he walks over to Jimin, draping an arm around him. "Let's get out of here, Jiminie. I'll walk you home." There's no objection from Jimin.

The walk back into town was long and dreadful, at least for Jungkook it was. He trailed behind Taehyung and Jimin as they laughed while they walked. He kept a close watch on Taehyung, and every time Taehyung glanced back at his brother, he'd smirk and pull Jimin close each time. For some reason, the contact between Taehyung and Jimin made Jungkook's stomach churn, and his eyes burning bright red at sight. Without even realizing it, he'd lowly growl as well.

'What the fuck is Taehyung doing here? Getting in the middle of my plans?' Jungkook groaned. As they reached the edge of town, Taehyung stopped and turned to Jimin.

"Alright, sweetheart, this is where I stop for now. I'll see you when I see you, ok?" Taehyung smiled as he brings one of Jimin's hands up to his lips and places a small peck on the back of his hand. Almost instantaneously, Jimin feels his knees go weak, and his body slowly melting at the touch. His cheeks turning bright red in embarrassment as he tears away from Taehyung's stare.

"I- I um... I'll see you soon then." Jimin stutters, and Jungkook groans in disgust.

"Of course," Taehyung reassures before giving Jimin another kiss on his hand, and with that, Jimin departs into the town.

A moment of silence as the two brothers watch Jimin leave, both waiting till he's out of sight.

Then, once he's gone -

"You fucker!" Jungkook spits as he grabs hold of his brother's shirt. Taehyung says nothing but smirks & disappears.

"Oh no, you don't." Jungkook follows his brother's lead. Taehyung reappears on a cliff, enjoying the two-second alone time he has before his brother tackles him. Jungkook pins his brother down with his forearm on Tae's collarbone, "What do you think you're doing?! Meddling in my plans? Flirting with Jimin? Answer me!"

A smirk plastered on Taehyung's face, "I'm not doing anything, brother. I'm just having a little bit of fun."

"But why here? Out of all the places on this pathetic planet, why here?!?!?" Jungkook yells, shooting spit on his brother's face.

In a blink of an eye, Jungkook finds himself being the one that's pinned down. His brother smiling down at him, "Why do you care so much of my whereabouts Kookie? Just let me have my fun, and I'll be out of that hair of yours." He ruffles his brother's brown hair and disappears.
