The slow invasion of the darkness, the slow corruption of the land, and the slow… decay of divinity.
Even the world tree was withering.
"It's dying…" Serveisa murmured, staring up.
Atop the academy's top floor, she stared at the world tree.
"And heaven along with it," said the old lady, Serveisa's grandmother, the headmistress.
"Do you think this is the end?" Serveisa whispered, not quite looking.
"Heh," Arnine shrugged. "I've seen shit like this half a dozen times in my lifetime. There's always trouble no matter what era. Every now and then disaster struck one after another, Just a thousand years ago, that dumb demon lord came crashing and killed all the supreme gods and merrily went back. I thought for sure heaven would end. But it didn't. We survived. We rebuilt. As we've done always."
