Chapter 64: Shanghai

Cao Guang was on a flight to Shanghai from the nearest airport to him all he could hear about was the seventh generation of Hunter Kings Du Xiao and Qin Zhan.

They were both young Super Mages brimming with potential and one was even from Shanghai's Clear Sky Hunting Agency.

Cao Guang had an appointment with Dean Xiao to join the Pearl Institute along with Liu Mingrui who was supposed to meet him in Shanghai.

The recruitment of the school was long over and this was the only way to get in right now. Cao Guang knew his decision to join the Pearl Institute was the right as he was unable to afford a lot of resources for the Intermediate level.

He wasn't like the typical mage who could progress fast with just the Army's resources. He had four elements to take care of. His savings of 620 million was down to 320 after he bought a minority in Zhu Meng's company and he was responsible for lightning tailings in the future. But he only had to take care of them once every two years as well.

It was down to 290 million after he sponsored Liu Mingrui. He didn't know if the kid was going to be a great mage but he didn't care. He made money to spent it, as long as he could find underappreciated talented mages he would fund them as long as he had spare money.

It wasn't like the two billion he had set aside for buying Purple Demon crests needed to be bought all together. His assistant just bought about two to three thousand

pieces every week.

At the current market value he had only spent about nine hundred million. He still had more than a billion left to go. And the company researching on these demon Crests weren't even close to finishing their researchm

His Summoning Nebula had reached the second tier and his Space Nebula was close after his Mental Strength broke through. He could probably bring every element to the peak of second tier even without the three step tower.

He was strong enough to instantly join the Azure Campus from the Outer Campus. He had wait and see if the Dean had any instructions for him. Either the had decided to join the Space Institute.

With the guidance of his teacher and the resources he bought his Summoning element was pretty good. The fire element was even slightly better thanks to his dual Spirit grade seeds when possessing the Little Flame Belle.

The Lightning element was third with it's penetrating power and a top grade soul seed the Lightning Order. His Space element had been straggling even though he spent a lot of time on it the past year. Space element resources were rare in China.

So much so that he couldn't buy a lot with money he had. The only one he had was a bracelet that could improve the Void Wall he created with his will. If he was in the third level of Mental Strength then the bracelet would improve it to the peak of the third level automatically.

It could not help him jump levels to level four and it could not help him after level 5.Even then it was worth every penny he spent. But even after his assistant scoured the market he couldn't find any useful resources to cultivate the Space element. The ones he found were at auctions and costs an arm and a leg. Even more unfortunately the next World College tournament was in Paris and not Venice.

If it were in Venice he could make a go at the top reward from eighteen years ago the Will Stone. It could help him break through to level five of Mental Strength immediately without any sort of Sequalae.

Cao Guang's plane landed at Pudong airport from where he took a taxi to meet Liu Mingrui.

The kid could get in to the Outer Campus based on his element alone. That's how rare it was as a primary element.

Cao Guang brought the kid with him to the Dean's office.

Dean Xiao was a bald middle aged unassuming man. But his strength was the real deal. He wasn't like Mu Gong who could not cast a Forbidden Curse on his own.

His Water element was described as boundless by Dean Song He of the Imperial College.

"Come in, I was suprised when a talented mage like you suddenly decided to join the institute"

"It wasn't sudden at all Dean. And this is the kid my teacher talked about Liu Mingrui with the Chaos primary"
