Chapter 156: Scarlet Rending Demon

Their task in the zone was protecting the area, killing demon beasts, rescuing lives and any special missions, according to their national team advisors they had to reach four stars in their performance quickly to recieve resources, the quicker they did the more they would get, if not other national teams would get a larger share, besides right after this first battle would be the first evaluation of the team.

The relegated person wouldn't get any resources at all.

Rescuing another team from a Lesser Commander and adding with the number of beasts be killed he should be able to improve their performance to four stars in a single battle, the rankings here were a bit looser than the Hunter Union's, although there had been some discussion to increase the difficulty after seeing the money the government was making after the battlefield was opened to the public.

Cao Guang first summoned Fenrir thanks to his lack of suitable movement spells and left the team. They regrouped onto the largest building after he had gone, now they had to act accordingly since a lot of firepower was gone.

" I'll let you fight it don't whine so much, you are a commander now" said Cao Guang as he gave a nudge as direction while sitting on top of it. The Scarlet Rending Demon, the evolved form of Scarlet Soaring Demons came into his vision.

The creature looked like a cross between a seal and a sea horse to him. Its body was covered in red scales while it's underbelly and face had blue ones. It's claw were sharp and they were also an indicator of its level as a Lesser Commander.

Cao Guang jumped off to a nearby building from Fenrir as he prepared his spell. He needed to help the wolf out, he was going against a Sea monster above his level at a water dominant area, the wolf might become teriyaki before he could blink.

The runes on his body activated as lightning coursed through its veins, the Lightning Force hidden in it's blood had awakened.

Cao Guang dragged a couple of hunters in the team out of the water, the had fallen when the Scarlet Rending Demon broke their foothold.

" Work with we can deal with this thing"

Cao Guang didn't stop casting as he imbued Fenrir and himself with a Light Blessing Holy Shield each. Fenrir swinped at the creature as he exchanged blows with it and drew blood, while he avoided being injured at the cost of a Light Blessing himself.

Lightning crackled around Cao Guang as he established his Domain, a Bolt of lightning was heralded the arrival of the domain and fell on the beast along with the Hunters spells as it reeled from Fenrir's blow.

A Star Constellation formed with Cao Guang as it's centre. He had just used the special effect of his Soul seed and hadn't yet attacked.

Silent Deadly Bolt Lightning Arm

Coils of lightning barely struck the beast before it called a few walls of water and dove into the water to hide. This was the main reason he couldn't kill this thing, he couldn't stop it from hiding underwear or leaving even if he wanted to.

" If there are any water mages among you, draw the water away from it"

As soon as Cao Guang's words came out a Hunter was ambushed by the demon from underwater. It took a huge bite out of him before diving again before anyone could react.

Cao Guang and Fenrir could repel the creature but others weren't the same, the creature deftly avoided them and destroyed more buildings in between Cao Guang and the Hunters, stranding them away.

At this point the building the rest of the Hunters stood on was a lone island. A silver light flickered in Cao Guang's eyes as he picked the six people up with Telekinesis and moved them high through the air, beyond the reach of the beast with his space spell.

He couldn't have pulled this move off if not for the latest breakthrough in his Mental Strength, Space spells relied heavily on those for efficacy.

The Hunters flew through the air at an obscene height as their Acrophobia and a hungry red beast both jumped out.

The beast roared in anger, it has suffered from Fenrir and that Lightning bolt for nothing if these mages got away from it's teeth. It controlled the nearby water and blasted it at the Hunters. Atleast they would be dead by the time Cao Guang brought them to his side.
