Chapter 157: Fierce Battle

Cao Guang renewed the Light Blessing on himself and Fenrir as the Scarlet Rending Demon launched another Water based attacks, when the terrain between them became even the demon would be encouraged to make close combat attacks as well, these creatures were amphibious, they were significantly weaker and slower on land but they could fight still.

Fenrir was busy with contain the beast when Cao Guang launched a Sky Flame Funeral, he didn't aim to fight or injure the beast, he simply used the high temperature of the Advanced spell and Prairie Flames to evaporate some water, lowering the beast's prowess.

The enraged beast charged recklessly towards the building Cao Guang was standing on, Cao Guang wasn't sure how sturdy it was but didn't want to take a risk.

He had the Earth element as well, he could improve the defences of the building for a short time if needed and Fenrir could be left in charge of the counter attack, since the beast dared to get close before the water level rose, it should pay a price for it's stupidity.

Cao Guang swayed a bit as the beast demolished his constructs and crashed against the building, the defences had weakened it's offence a lot, causing mere minor damage to the building while the creature was having clearly what was a bad migraine day.

The lightning runes of Fenrir's body lit up as he charged at the beast with his claws, blood flew as the beast fell into a state of paralysis. Message from the brain were sent as electrical impulses, this was true for beasts as well, hence the susceptibility to lightning spells and their paralysis effect.

However for monsters without brains or nerves like Undead the state was true as well only weakened, after all it wasn't science but magic.

At the advanced the ability to quickly change domains and elements were vital to a mage's sucess. He had been one for more than half a year and had mastered the art, with a little help from the intermediate stage Mental Strength.

Advanced level bolts of lightning strenghthened six times fell towards the beast in quick succession horizontally and vertically, causing two more giant wounds on its face and torso.

It's vitality was impressive as Cao Guang's spell was directly aimed at its face. The beast made nothing but a mad howl as it beckoned for its minions to help it even when it knew it would be easier for Cao Guang to deal with them, only the Scarlet Rending Demon had no intention of staying any longer.

Rows upon rows of Scarlet Soaring Demons retreated from other streets to gang upon Cao Guang under their Boss's orders as a fiery red Star Constellation appeared beneath his feet.

Cao Guang had no problem dealing with these canon fodder with his Fire element, they were only warriors and his Advanced spell was very effective against large groups.

Sky Flame Funeral Blazing Rain

Balls of Heavenly fire assaulted the demons as Cao Guang prepared to retreat to his area on Fenrir.
