029 - Battle of New York (Part 1)

I see the tension in furies face thicken. Everyone else just looks confused. Suddenly Rodgers Pipes up with. "What do you mean, known for a decade?"

I turned my head to Steve as he asked this before turning my head to fury and asking while tilting my head. "Should I tell them?"

See no response from fury I Continued. "July 2nd, 1995. A few aliens show up and start fighting in the southern California. Fury here was the first higher ranking agent on scene. You don't need to know much more then that except for the fact that an alien fleet appeared above orbit and was about to perform an exterminatus on earth if it wasn't for one the others driving them off. So, Fury. Thor was in fact not your first lesson that we are not alone or hopelessly outmatched, it just hastened your plans when Four Incredibly strong, enhanced individuals appear at once."

The room was silent for a few moments before fury asked. "How do you know this?"

I just chuckled slightly at his question before answering. "I come from a group that has been around for a while, but we've only really started to grow in the last decade or so."

He just askes the question that is on everyone else's mind. "But why are YOU here?"

"Because I'm here to watch the show that is going to unfold." My answer just puzzles them for a few seconds as I then say. "You got incoming…"

It pretty much went exactly how it was meant to go with the tesseract being found, hulk going nuts, the turbines being damaged and the bromance of Rodgers and Stark turning from hostility to acceptance.

I also considered grabbing the mind stone while I was at it but decided to leave it since they needed it to close the portal as well as Pietro and Wanda not gaining their powers if I did.

It was still something we debated about. Whether to allow Ultron to be born or not. Then again as long as tony went and got mind raped by Wanda, he would go on to build him. Maybe I should allow them to create vision while there at it.

Ah. Forget it. I need to put the majority of my processing power of the quantum computing project. Fuck. I hate maths, even as a computer I suck at it.

I must say though Loki is actually very funny if it wasn't for the whole crazy aspect.

"So, that's what it does." Said Coulson in his final breath. It was hard watching Coulson be killed but I knew he would survive through project Tahiti.

As the quin-jet crashed in New York, I got out along with Steve, Natasha and Clint. "I'm gonna call reinforcements." I said as I pulled out a cell phone as they ran off in the direction of the city library or whatever that building was.

I'd already notified Sky about what was happening, and they had left the city. The cell phone was just charade, so it looked like I was calling for help. I stared up at the portal. I really want some form of instant travel it would make things so much more convenient.

Gun let out a blast of a muon bean in my arm straight into the face of a Chitauri who tried to jump me. I had planned to allow New York to just happen so when my plans became public people would understand. But, only now I realize that I need to stop treating this like a movie. This is real life and over a hundred people are already dead.

[Latham, New York]

State Adjutant General Philip Myers was in command of all naval and army assets of the New York national guard. He had just received news of the battle happening in New York and had managed to mobilize a few brigades to begin helping the fight in New York.

However, the command he had just received made him question his loyalty to the country he had sworn his life to. He had been told that under no circumstances where any National guard units to enter the five boroughs.

He had then called up the air national guard in Atlantic city and was told that the 177th was also told not to enter New York airspace.

I just shook my head at this, but I now understood how deep Hydra had implanted itself in the American government. Their plan was to launch a nuke at the city and not only cause more chaos but also wipe out the fledging avengers.

I mean why would shield actually decide to Nuke New York when they were actually containing it. I needed to put a stop to this now. I sent out a command to hundreds of assets throughout the east coast.

[Atlantic City International Airport]

A flight of eight F-16s stood in front of their hangers fully armed and fuelled ready to go straight to New York but they had been grounded by their commanding officer. The pilots just shrugged with confused expressions as they all stared at the devastation happening in New York.

One of the younger Pilots said with a confused but pleading expression. "We can't just sit here and do nothing. There are people dying and because some guy in Washington says so we are meant to stay here and watch."

All the other servicemembers just looked away they knew that he was right, but they couldn't do anything otherwise they would be court martialled and most likely sent to prison or worse executed for disobeying direct orders.

A woman in her thirties also in flight gear stood up and said, "I don't want to be In a country where we because of politics others just are allowed to be slaughtered."

The commanding officer stood there listening over the security system and decided. He had recently learned that the NY National guard had also been told to stand down. He decided to call them back and liaise on what to do.

A few minutes later all the pilots looked at the intercom. They were all beginning to contemplate just disobeying orders. "Due to the extreme circumstances of the situation at hand I have decided to go against the orders of the commander in chief and begin deployments to New York."

All the pilots ran towards there Jets to begin take off procedures. He knew he would get a court martial for this, but it was better than having it on his conscience for the rest of his life as well as on those servicemembers below him. If, he wasn't immediately court martialled he would have to investigated why he had received the order.

Across the east coast this scene repeated itself. I personally think Hydra pushed a little too far with their influence. I would have to work on this crack that had formed and use it to pull hydra out by the roots.

I was trying to evacuate as much as possible. By what security cameras were saying over a few thousand were already either dead or would be if they didn't get help immediately. I saw the look on Steve's face after he had gotten up from the car he had landed on. It looked like he was losing hope.

I suddenly had a realisation. Was this why Steve after this was so desperate to be wherever he was needed. I would have to think about this later. It seems the world security council has just contacted fury.

"Director Fury is no longer in command. Override code seven alpha one one."

I just sighed internally at what was about to happen. I knew tony would catch it, but I Couldn't risk it.
