Chapter 4 - Impression

Zhou Dong heard the young man take a moment before giving a bellowing laugh. He didn't expect that he would not faze after introducing himself then glance at his granddaughter then to the young man giving a nod not noticing his own daughter was affected. 

"Hahahaha, I didn't expect such an honest response. Anyway, I'm here to thank you for saving them and willing to reward you with anything that you wish that is within my power."

He gave his sincere words since he only had one daughter and couldn't imagine losing her knowing how it will affect him and his wife. Zhou Dong became rich and powerful not because of his desire to dominate over everything since he's not that ambitious but rather to provide enough that his family won't be looked down upon. 

Zhou Dong would give everything for his family and was terrified when he heard the news while also angry at the security for neglecting their jobs but calmed down when the situation was explained to him. No one was to be blamed in the situation beside those thugs that they had captured.

"Now tell me what is it that you need?"

He asked while waiting for Xiao Shen to respond and saw him scratch his cheek and said.

"Actually, I don't really want to ask anything. I only did it because I saw someone in trouble and couldn't just ignore it."

The old man was surprised that he was rejecting his offer even though many people would do everything to gain his favor. He saw that the young man was sincere and didn't do it to leave an impression of him. 

"There has to be something that we can give you?"

This time Jiang Mei was the one who spoke trying to join the conversation in order to ease her heart yet it only grew faster feeling a desire to feel Xaio Shen's touch seeing his sharp jawline and we'll built body made it near irresistible. 

Xiao Shen saw this having vague understanding of people's feelings now tag his bloodline had awaken saw that Jiang Mei are is in turmoil and only able to keep her composure because her father was around while her daughter, Jiang Yue only slightly affected having attraction with slight lust since unlike her mother. 

"Well if you insist then can you sponsor the [ Wildflower Orphanage? ] it's the place where I grew up and don't want it to be abandoned."

He was having financial problems working a part time job in a fast food to get by despite still needing to study. Xiao Shen's life isn't easy but knew that he would soon turn it around.

"Oh forgive me but I did a little investigation about you and I understand the situation of that Orphanage. If that is what you want then very well."

Zhou Dong made sure to know what kind of person who saved his family and was surprised to find that he was an orphan living alone and enrolled in the Winter Spring College, One of the top most prestigious College in the city. He learned that he is an Art student who became a scholar after winning a competition. 

He knew that the young man was struggling and almost lost his life and yet he didn't have the slightest greed even to take upon himself and give to someone else. 

"Thank you, Mr. Jiang."

"Oh please call me Dong. Also, if you still need any help feel free to call me with this. I bought you a new phone since yours had been broken from the scene but we managed to recover the memory and contacts."

The Old man took out the latest phone model and handed it to Xiao Shen who reluctantly accepted it, quickly opening to find that his contact and memories were still there.

"Thank you. I'll be sure to keep it in mind."

"Well then, I have to go since there's still things we need to do. Again, no need to hold yourself back if you need our help."

He smiled softly and slowly stood up.

"Let's go, Yue'er."

"Well, see you around, Xiao Shen. Hope we meet again!"

Jiang Yue said before taking a bold action and gave him a kiss on the cheek surprising her mother and grandfather.

"Huhuhu, someone has a crush."

Jiang Mei teases her daughter who blush quickly heading outside as Xiao Shen left stunned from what just had happened. 

"I didn't expect you to kiss him, Yue'er."

Her grandfather said as they walked through the hallway looking at his granddaughter who was blushing and said.

"I don't have anything to repay him, that's why I did that."

"Guess I'll be having a Grandson-In-law this early hahaha."

"Grandfather! Stop teasing me!"

He burst laughing as she stumped her feet and ran away leaving her mother and grandfather alone. 

"What do you think of the young man, Mei'er?"

Zhou Dong turned to his daughter who's thought was full of the Xiao Shen images feeling heart fluttering ever since she laid his eyes on him. Her father obviously noticed it but didn't try to pry too much since he was open minded about things.  

"He seemed to be a kind young man even after risking his life for us only gave selfless requests."

Her father nodded upon hearing her opinion. He does find the young man interesting and having lived for many years gave him time to understand a person's character and Xiao Shen showed potential that he couldn't begin to describe. He needed to keep an eye on him and build a good relationship. 

"I also think he's an interesting fellow. His eyes were sincere and honest, a rarity in the world. However, there is a sense of intrigue that draws me in."

He glanced back before continuing walking, finally leaving the hospital. After they had left, Xiao Shen looked out of the window thinking about the future and his next action.

Xiao Shen gained something that he would never have expected and now feels a bit lost since there are two paths for him to choose now.

Lived as mortal where danger is minimal or lived as someone who could potentially become an immortal. Both held merits and many would assume being an immortal has more merits but he's still a human with modern values and beliefs. 

[ Master, whatever path you choose I'll be by your side. ]

Xiao Xiao floated around him trying to ease his inner thoughts. He smiled softly and nodded.

"Well, it's not like I'll let this opportunity go."

He would eventually die, at least he could die trying. Xiao Shen's life had been such mundane struggles that he had forgotten what it truly meant to live. 

'Xiao Xiao can you tell me about the world?'

[ I'm sorry master but I cannot. You have to visit the world first in order for me to record it. ]

Xiao Shen gave a nod before deciding to ask if he could leave the hospital and fortunately the doctor agreed as there wasn't anything wrong with his body. 

He was grateful that his bills were already fully paid and was provided some new clothes because his old ones were destroyed. Everything was prepared by the Jiang family beforehand and took out his phone to give his gratitude. 

'Should I call him or just leave a message?'

Xiao Shen decided to just leave a message since he doesn't want to disturbed him and to his surprise received a call from him.

[ Hello, young man? ]

He heard Zhou Dong's voice, who seemed excited to hear from him again. 

"Yes, it's me, Mister Dong. I just wanted to thank them for providing me with some clothes and paying the bills. "

[ You shouldn't have to humble yourself. It is natural that we pay for your hospital bills. Additionally, I've transferred some money into your bank account to help you. Again, if you need any help feel free to call us. ]

"You don't have to but thank you. I'll surely use it well."

After a while, he hung up coughing, then checked his bank account that only had a few thousand yuan left but then saw the amount made him jaw dropped.

"1,000,000,000 Yuan!!???"

He yelled out feeling overwhelmed seeing the number of zero in his bank account. Xiao Shen's life is truly turning upside down and finally giving up and accepting reality.
