Night sky

After everyone was done eating, Kaji and the girls walked with Yasaka, about how they lost their home. Who they were, and some other minor details, Kaji explained many things, but left out the more important parts, like that they were from another world. But after all of them got to know each other, Yasaka offered something they the three Oni never expected to hear.

"I see, I understand, but I have an offer to the three of you. Would you like to have a family again? Yasak asked, showing a smile filled with motherly affection.

Kaji didn't know how to react as he looked at the woman, he turned his head to see Ram, and Rem looked intently at Yasaka, waiting to hear what the woman was going to say next.

"I know that it will never be the same for you, but even so I would like to adopt the three of you, as my own children." The moment Yasak spoke, Ram and Rem were even started. Kaji showed a surprised expression.

Kunou, on the other hand, had stars in her eyes while thinking that she would have siblings. She always wanted to have a sister or a brother, and now she could, but that still depended on the decisions of the Oni.

Kaji looked at the twins and wanted to know what they wanted to do, but seeing their smiles, Kaji looked at Yaska and Kunou to see what their expressions were. But he decided to leave the decision for the girls themselves as he closed his eyes.

Ram was surprised, by the words of the fox-eared woman, who now was offering them a new family. She was offering to become their mother, but there was still some concern in her heart, after all, she and her sister had one horn each. And in their society it meant that they were weaker than the rest, some saw this as a curse. So she needed to know how the woman would react when she saw that she and her sister had only one horn each.

Rem was really happy hearing this, but she looked at Kaji and Ram to see what they were thinking about this situation. She saw Kaji close his eyes, from this she could understand that either he was thinking about it or he left the decisions up to the two sisters. Next, she looked at her sister to see an expression of concern, she didn't understand why, but then she heard Ram speak.

"Then, what if we told you that my sister and I had only one horn each?" Ram asked, with an expressionless face and a monotone voice.

Yasaka didn't really understand why the pink-haired girl asked such a question, but it didn't change much. Rem was a bit surprised by her sister's question, while Kaji showed a small smile.

"I don't understand what you mean by your words, but it doesn't matter to me if you had horns, to begin with, or didn't. I want you to become a part of my family, our family." Yaska spoke in a gentle tone, while showing a loving smile towards them.

The twins looked towards Kaji, with expectation in their eyes, making the boy sigh in defeat. He didn't really mind this, after all, a motherly touch should do good for the twins. The Oni didn't openly show much affection to others, so the two girls didn't really understand how to show affection towards others. Kaji could only think that this might be a good decision, even if it was only for the girls.

When The twins saw Kaji nod his head, they jumped up and hugged him, tackling him to the ground. After everyone calmed down, Kaji, Ram, and Rem had joined Yasaka's family, and with this, they gained a sister. And to his surprise, the twins got along with Yasaka, and Kunou in a matter of seconds, as their demeanor towards them changed.

And so the twins spent two days, playing around, having fun. They did things that kids of their age should be doing. On the other hand, Kaji was hunting any stray devils he could find and there were only a couple of them that he could find. But he did find a jail made for Yokai that betrayed their own kind or did other horrible things. So Kaji killed them all, he needed to gain strength.

While two whole days passed by, Kaji decided to do something, he had created a magical way of marking people by mixing his blood and the blood of the person he wanted to mark. He did mark Rem, and Ram, a while back, with the help of the said mark he could find them whenever they were, he would be informed when they were in danger. The said mark even had protective magic, which would protect the marked person from one attack aimed at their vital points. And, Kaji had decided on marking Kunou and Yasaka, after all, he knew what would happen in the future, and he for some reason didn't want anything bad to happen to them.

Was it because he lost people he cared for before? He didn't know, but he knew one thing. He would protect the people he cared about with all his strength. Kaji wanted enough strength to kill his opponents with a mere thought, but he was far from such strength.

Right now it was night time And Kaji was looking at the night sky, he looked at the darkness of the space and the stars, shining from afar. He could feel the pull strengthening every day, the pull to his own world, it seemed like traveling through different worlds wasn't as easy as all those other fan fictions and novels said.

But then he heard someone walking towards him, as he continued gazing at the night sky.
