Chapter 34

Chapter 34,

The Undead Knight

Third Person's POV

A ding from somewhere made Koshiro jolted from a thought: for he's worried about the matches. A screen appeared before him with messages written.

[System has a new update! and Function is now applicable for Knights!]

With that, Koshiro decided to come out first to check it out of curiosity, "I'll be out for a bit," he waved goodbye and rushed out the stadium and went to an alley a few blocks away.

This is what makes the game more exciting and addicting: the Quest Function. Although he doesn't know about the Emotion Function, he didn't give any mind to it and just opened his message window.

[Previous Messages that you view is now hidden. System is waiting for command.]

[Player: is wondering too much.]

Another screen appeared in front of him and displayed another message. What's shocking is that it displayed the same emotion that Koshiro have right now.

[Player is too baffled. System can read the Emotion of the Player. System is more or less the slave of the player to assist him/her.]

With he explanation, Koshiro didn't tend to delve more deeper into it and just went to check his out the quest.

"Show me the quests," He ordered the system making another screen appear after the other unnecessary ones disappeared.

[ is on a current wait. is still not ready. Have three available.]

Reporting, another bafflement is on Koshiro. It was shown in his face clearly as his face was twisted and tangled in thought.

[:]

[Train your to activate by defeating a player in an official battle.]

["Those from the Elf Clan is superior to any beings." Prove the saying right! Defeat a player using elemental magic!]

[Defeat a user and eat a to be received.]

For once, Koshiro understood a part of the system. Besides, this function was implanted on the game from the start, but the Emotion Function is an exception.

The Game Quests are quests that everyone can receive, while System Quests are revived only for players. Game Quests can be grouped or individually, but System Quests can only be received by a certain player, but can be shared with others as long as both party agrees on the terms. The system decides how much can join, and a penalty awaits those who don't follow the terms and number of players.

One thing was more weird and it was the Demon Heart Fruit. Koshiro knows its existence, but not it's attribute. The Demon Heart Fruit can be obtained when you kill a Demon General or a Level fifteen Dark Magic user, but its attributes can only be seen by demons. To be precise, Koshiro doesn't intend to eat it unless a information about it is disclosed. It'll be bad if he does things recklessly.

He was in deep thought, but not anymore when a message popped up in front of him.

[:]

[Adoption]

[Watch a match and create a new spell using it as a base.]

[Time Limit: Twelve hours]

[Difficulty: G]

"Watch? That's all?" Koshiro muttered to himself.

He walked away from the alley and went back to the stadium to continue watching the match to complete some System Quests.

As he walked back the place, it was already Hoshi's match. By the view of it, despite fighting a girl, he was in a pinch. From the gist of information that he sees, the girl is great at puppetry magic. Knights are born with at least one high-level Elemental Magic, but it's doesn't mean they specialize on it. It means they have other type of magic specialization.

He sat back on his chair beside Hiruki and questioned, "Who is that woman? She's skilled,"

Beside me, Hiruki answered my question, "Her name is Randallia. She specialize in Puppetry Magic. Hoshi didn't reveal much information about his techniques, but I know a few information about it,"

"He's a Knight with the occupation of Soul Knights, the ones who can summon the dead," Koshiro added his explanation.

Soul Knights can summon, talk, become, and beseech for a dead, undead, ghost, spectre, and other paranormal beings' power. Their population is rare since this kind of Knight cannot be chosen in the Character Section, but can be obtained the first time you create an account in RoK. Although you can obtain it, the change of obtaining is low, and Soul Knight characters only have a few avatars created.

"You're right. I recommend you to look into his status, from what I see, he's no ordinary Soul Knight. Without a single warning, Koshiro went and peeked into his status.

[WELCOME! A new version of is here, once again! Sorry if we didn't informed you about the sudden change last time!]

"He has a high chance of winning," Koshiro muttered, enough for the others to hear his voice.

"Why not give up already?" Randallia insulted Hoshi as she looked ice cool in her situation.

Randallia held out her hands and strings came out of it. On her other hand, a puppet was slowly formed in it with a shape of little bees. It charged 8nto Hoshi, but he was able to defend it by summoning a coffin and hiding inside it.

"It's futile! Just give up already!" She keeps her grin on her face while Hoshi's cover slowly breaks. If he keeps on staying on defending, he's sure to lose this fight.

"Invisible claws!" Hoshi chanted, making his move.

He ran around Randallia for her to not find him easily. While running, he stopped at a blind spot and put a coffin there and continued running. The coffin made a creaking, creepy noise, but nothing came out of it except for the black smoke when it opened.

"Invisible Claws," he chanted once again and the bees was torn apart into bits of pieces, and the same goes to the strings.

"I won't forgive you! How dare you hurt the puppets of a royalty!" She yelled, full of anger.

This time, two strings are coming out of the tip of her fingers. It resonated with her shadow and seemed to be pulling something from there.

There appeared behind her was a big Princess-like statue in a cyan gown carrying a pair of giant scissors. On top of her hair was a golden crown that slightly glows from the sun behind her. Her footwear was a red heeled sandals. The puppet somehow, symbolized her in a lot of way.

"It's the end. I cant let you kill all my precious puppets! Commoners, witness the power of royalty!" Her voice was full of hatred and malice, shouting on top of her lungs, attacking Hoshi at the same time.

Hoshi took a deep breath and chanted calmly, "Ghost Rampage," his voice was so calm that it almost sounded like a cold kid.

Slowly, the ground started shaking as if a dinosaur is jumping nonstop. The shaking became more abrupt that Randallia almost lost her sense of balance. The puppet was torn apart before Randallia could knew.

When she looked at it, it was just scraps of clothes torn apart, and the stage seemed to be the same. She looked at him with malice as tears slowly fell down her eyes.

"Winner: Hoshi!" Deshy announced in her loud voice, as usual.

"Hoshi, Hoshi. No wonder that name sounds familiar. You're the runaway! No wonder you're strong! You're a royalty, right?!" He came laughing at Hoshi like there's no end to it.

Randallia, coming down the ring, saw Koshiro, "You! You were laughing at me, weren't you?! You're the one who bumped into me! Hey you, EMCEE!" She keels on blabbering, "Losers can still fight next after this, I want mine now! I want to fight this guy!" She exclaimed while a guy cane with a bottle of Regeneration Type C that can heal the overall power of a player, which is a legendary item.

"But still, ma'am, do you know what you're doing?" Deshy asked worriedly.

Koshiro raised his and everyone paused in silence, "It's fine. I'll ask you, too. I just have to solve some problem here.

"You're mistaken that you chose to fight a royalty like me!" She warned.

"Will he be okay?" Hoshi asked, sitting back at his chair.

"Don't worry, it's Koshiro, after all. It'll work out successfully, somehow," Hiruki looked at the twins, Goro, and Gin and laughed in unison with them.

"Now, start!" Deshy signalled the start of the battle.

Without warning, she created a puppet man holding a sword and a shield. Although it's just a puppet, its body and weapons are real and for combat, although puppet masters are usually for support since they're long-ranged offensive power.

Hesitation wasn't in Koshiro's eyes. Not even a bit. He opened his mouth to speak, but it was weird that nothing came out of it. But before the puppet could come closer, Koshiro readied his stance.

"Envelope," Although unseen, wind enveloped his sword making it look more sharp even by just a glance on its sheath, where his sword hides.

He swinged his sword diagonally cutting it into half along with it's attached strings. The cut was so clean that no traces of chipped part of the puppet was literally seen in it.

Randallia clenched his fist on her side with unison with her gritting her teeth, "Don't get carried away after killing my little puppet!" Even though exhausted, she still tried.

"Aeris, just a little," Koshiro muttered to himself.

A voice inside his head was heard as a reply, "I'll just knock her out," suddenly, Aeris took over his body, and Koshiro just watched from somewhere he doesn't know.

Aeris returned the sword back to its sheath and summoned his Bow and Arrow. The place fell quiet as time ticks, and only the gentle breeze of the winds can be felt tingling into their ears. The silence was too much to bear, but it was worth it since it's the Crimson Gale right here.

"Don't give me that shi—" Before Randallia could finish her words, a blow landed on her stomach. With just a punch, she fell down, unconscious.

It was Aeris dashing towards him. Force is a component of Wind. Like Lighting being a component of Wind Magic, Force is the same. It can control the mass, speed per second, minute, and hour, and the other person's agility and he or her magic's projectile speeds if it comes near to a certain radius. This is the power bestowed to the siblings, Sylphid and Aeris by the wind gods, Anemoi.

"Our winner, Our hope, Crimson Gale, Koshiro!!!" Deshy screamed with excitement, proudness, and relief.

People came shouting Koshiro's name making the others more and more wondered who this guy might be. Even though he doesn't look the type to that strong, who would've thought that he's this strong?

"Yo," Aeris called out to Hiruki as he walks down the ring.

Hearing the way he speaks, Hiruki knew it right away, "Aeris, is that you?"

He just smiled, and returned back to where Koshiro is sitting, letting Koshiro take over the body once again.

"That was amazing! How did you find her as an enemy, huh?" Hoshi came to Koshiro laughing at Randallia's situation.

"Just bumped into her on the road," Koshiro scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Bumped?" Hoshi questioned, shocked.

Koshiro nodded, "Literally," he chuckled faintly making Hoshi stare into him more, and Hiruki annoyed. This is another victory for Koshiro.
